@@darkerbrother1 We were traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday one year. One of the best & funnest Thanksgiving dinners we’ve ever had was at a truck stop on I-20 west of Ft Worth.
Native Texan here. I love the way Mrs. H pronounces cashews. I've never heard it pronounced that way, but it was very unique and lovely. And Bucees' brisket sandwiches are great road trip food!
I am laughing so hard because I had to read your comment to figure out what she was saying. 😂🤣😂🤣 It flew right over my head but, now that I know, I also find it very cute. 😂
The best thing about that drink isn't how big it is, but that you can go back for as many refills as you want. Y'all could have kept that Buc-ee's cup and refilled it at your next stop for gas. Yeah, that brisket sandwich looked good. I love that place. 😂
I live around the corner from a Bucees. Grabbed one of their Texas Cheesesteaks for dinner the other night. Full of beef, bell peppers, onions and a jalapeño cheese sauce, all wrapped up in a tortilla. Was so good.
I live Texas but drive out of state for work and the 1st thing I do when driving home is stop a Buc-ees and grab one of those burritos 😊. So damn good.
The Pecan tree is the official Texas State tree, the pecan pie the official state pie and the pecan is the official state health nut. The tree is native in more than 1/2 of the 254 counties of Texas and commercial pecan production in Texas usually ranks in the top 5 in the USA. So, yeah, we kinda dig our Pee-Kawns. Safe travels Mr H and Family.
Born and raised in Texas. Lived in Dallas County pretty much my life. And I love my puh-kawns. Lol. I guess there's no correct way to pronounce it. It's all about where you grew up.
As someone who just recently visited a Buc-ees, it was like a big gas station, a truck stop, a gift shop, a little Wal-Mart, and a food truck all rolled into one. And as I recall the gas was pretty cheap there.
Don't worry about using the wrong type of gas pump (Diesel). The diameter of the Diesel pump is larger than regular gas. So if you accidently grabbed the diesel pump, it wouldn't physically fit into the gas tank hole as it would be too large around.
As someone who’s lived just 30 min away my entire life, I appreciate the accuracy at pronouncing New Braunfels. Even with your accent, your pronunciation was great!
I noticed one thing. Brits like to complain about the weather and the temperature. While you were in Texas it was in the mid-80s which is a little hot but not that bad if you were there a week before that it was over 100° now that would have been hot.
Welcome to the great state of Texas. I hope y'all have a phenomenal time. Also, I love that y'alls little one puts things back where she found them. Outstanding parenting.
I'm from Connecticut and i have lived half of my adult life in South Carolina. Each state is completely different. From it's food, history, culture , art and people. I'm glad you've had a great time in Texas. Makes me want to spend some time in Texas. Or Alaska or..
I can see why Brits visit Texas. Texas has a lot of BBQ and a little of everything else. You can get a "visit America" experience in one shot. Yes there are differences in the various states, but the Brits might not know what to look form and that can become an awful lot of driving around. Especially for Brits. To an American, 100 years is a long time. To a Brit, 100 miles is a long trip. They don't need to be driving to Las Vegas or Atlanta the whole way from Texas. That would be brutal.
Do you ever miss things like clam pizza or hot cider or buttery lobster rolls? Every state has something unique, but some states really excel at food like Texas.
That's what I was thinking too. The diesel nozzles are physically bigger. They won't fit in a gas tank opening. But of course it doesn't save you the other way around.
Little tip for next visit. The end of the diesel pump is bigger so it wont fit into a gas car filler neck. Glad to see you enjoying my State. I hope they lived up to.our motto of being friendly and helpful. If not feel free to comment their names and we will shame them for you. Cheers 👍👍
I love that you finally made it to Texas. I am a native Texan. I was born in Dallas. I live now in a little town east of Dallas called Van. I could not imagine myself living in any other state. But one of my favorite states to visit is the beautiful state of Arkansas. They have lots of natural springs and around this time of year beautiful fall foliage.
I can't believe how big Baby H has become. She's not a baby anymore. She's a little girl and she is adorable. She looked so sweet in that little ruffled dress and with her hair all fixed up with a bow in it. I know you are very proud of her. I hope you're all having a really great time in the US.
This is videographic proof that Elana refused the brisket sandwich. So when she grows up and is bitter about never having smoked brisket, you can show her that you offered her some but she was too busy coloring. 🙂
Fun fact! You don't even need to go to Texas anymore to get the full Buc-ee's experience. They are being built all across the U.S. now. And they're basically all the same general size for the most part. Even here in Wisconsin, near my place, they are set to build a massive one with 120 gas pumps. So look up Buc-ee's locations, as there may be one not far from you. So no need to travel all the way to Texas if that's the main reason you're traveling there, to begin with. I know some folks have traveled all the way there to experience a Buc-ee's. And if you are ever traveling through Iowa check out the world's largest truck stop. The Iowa 80 truck stop is really cool to check out.
What's the opposite of schadenfreude? Whatever it is, that's the happiness I feel watching you enjoy Texas so much. Thanks for recording it for the rest of us.
I love that end shot of Old Glory flapping in the wind and the sound it makes, it always makes my heart happy to hear that sound! So glad to see you enjoying yourselves, hoping everything meets or exceeds your expectations!
Update on largest Buckees.....but First I truly enjoy seeing your family vlogs. . Your daughter is absolutely the most precious little thing I've ever seen. I hope my brand new granddaughter grows up to be half as cute and fun as Alanna (sorry if I messed up the spelling). As of June of this year the largest Buc-ee's is now located in Sevierville Tennessee. I'm not at all surprised they put it here. It's a new exit where you can get off of interstate 40, before you cross the Appalachian Mountains to the east. Sevierville Tennessee is where country idol Dolly Parton hails from. It's near Dolly's her very fun theme park, Dollywood, and also very close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited of all the national parks every year. It's that traffic, I'm sure that made Buc-ee's choose this location. I stopped by there on my way to visit my daughter in North Carolina from my home in Nashville, TN, this past August. There were plenty of pumps. available but I didn't need gas The parking lot was completely filled, so I took a picture, waved at it and kept going. 😊
@@PatrickDaviswimiwamwamwazzleThat is the locals' point of view in every single county and state. Gatlinburg, rich in Civil War history, I loved visiting there. But I understand.
I am a native Texan who was moved to another state in her youth. Bless my parents for moving me to the place where I met my husband, and other half of my flesh, but dang it I missed out on Buc-ee's... Now, my poor husband has to take me all the way to Texas just so we can visit this obvious alternative for Walmart. We'll go to see my family, but that banana pudding is my true intention for a visit!! 🤣🤣
As approximately a tenth generation Texan I welcome you to Texas. I hope you enjoy your time and as others have said. Do some Texas stuff like a gun range and a rodeo.
Beaver Nuggets rule! Now that you've seen all those pumps. I want you to imagine all of them full and waiting in line to get a pump. That is what the Buc-ees in Madisonville, on I-45 between Houston and DFW, is like on the day before Thanksgiving. We need all those gas pumps, lol. There are little Buc'ees too. If you had gone down into Lake Jackson (south/southwest of Houston) where Buc-ee's started, you'd find little Buc-ee's. These are like regular gas station/convenience markets, but with super clean bathrooms. My first Buc-ee's experience was the one on TX 332, heading over to Surfside Beach. I remember walking past the bait case (fishing is huge there) into these amazing bathrooms. My traveling companion bought Beaver Nuggets because she thought the name was funny. We ate those things so fast, that the relentless Gulf Coast humidity didn't even get a chance to make them soggy.
The most under-appreciated thing at Buc-ee’s is the jalapeño/cheese summer sausage. Packaged slices in those circular refrigerated cases, and whole sausage rolls available by the fresh jerky counter. Really delicious and a good gluten-free low carb thing.
We’re from Illinois, and we stopped at our first Buc-ee’s in Athens, AL on our way to Florida, and spent two hours there! We were as blown away as you were! We spent another hour resupplying on our way home too! The closest thing we have is the big I-80 truck stop in Iowa, but that’s 4 hours or so northwest of us, and it doesn’t really compare! I really enjoyed watching you experience and enjoy a slice of our country! I am looking forward to watching the rest of the videos from your trip!
That was a sippy cup at 4:01. You can put a straw through the hole in the top of Buc-ee Beavers hat. Longhorn fan here. I could see Mr. Haitch wearing a Buc-ee Beaver onesie LOL. You passed on a delicious cinnamon roll, Mrs. Haitch. I bought one on my trip into Dallas on my way to the fair. I ate on it for 2 days, it was so rich I couldn't' eat the whole thing in one sitting. The bathrooms are legendary at Buc-ee's for being so clean. That was a deer blind or deer stand for $1299. Hunters sit in the blind undetected by any deer which happens to walk by. Alana looked like she was in her element shopping at Buc-ee's. It was funny out of all the cute toys offered there; she chose a ball. I wasn't a fan of the sausage on a stick. The sausage was too garlicy. Always remember that diesel is the green pump handle in the US, gas is the black handle.
Watching Mrs. H testing the pudding it hit me that I was watching when she wasn't in any videos, you've come a long way since then and your darling girl is sweet and beautiful. Such a lovely family. It thrills me each time you come to the states to visit.
You said we think of everything. If you really want a good example of that you should come back next year and go to the State Fair of Texas. Spend at least three days there eating. It will be awe-inspiring.
As a Floridian, whenever my travels take me on I95, I make it a point to stop at the Buc-ee’s in Daytona northbound, and St. Augustine back southbound. I had the extreme pleasure of a trip to Atlanta, and got to hit the Buc-ee’s in Warner-Robbins. There are plans for 2 more opening in the Ocala area, and the west coast St. Pete area. I will have to makeup reasons to go to them 😂 Little Alana is adorable 😉

They were here in October so the weather was probably very nice.
Buc-ee’s guaranteed to get a lot of views 🤣
Alana is so adorable as usual! Glad you enjoyed Bucc-ees❤❤❤❤
Keep the cups and you get free refills . Me as Texan really enjoy going ther . Hard to leave without buying a few things .
Aww I’m so glad you all got to come over to the US. Hope you have a wonderful time! Praying for safe travels for ya’s.❤
I can't believe how big Baby H has become. She's not a baby anymore. She's a little girl and she is adorable. She looked so sweet in that little ruffled dress and with her hair all fixed up with a bow in it. I know you are very proud of her. I hope you're all having a really great time in the US.
Mr H, that bite you took into that burrito was top notch. You weren’t messing around. 😂
Baby H looked so cute!!!!
Remember, all of the Texas veterinarians are Aggies!
Can't do without the veterinarians. 🙂
Fantastic here. I'm so happy for you guys. I'm still going forward with the proton therapy and I am beating cancer. Bless you all.
Sorry to hear that Chuck. Sending you love and positivity. BLY ❤️
Toddler H is just so adorable.
You all are the best! Texas is very hot!!!
Love watching you and your family
What's the opposite of schadenfreude? Whatever it is, that's the happiness I feel watching you enjoy Texas so much. Thanks for recording it for the rest of us.
Freudenfreude
I don't know one word, but 'living vicariously through others'?
When I'm at buccees I usually go for the breakfast tacos, sausage on a stick or they're deli sandwiches. Always grab me some fresh coffee too
So happy to see you guys along this adventure. I see why so many of us keep trying to get you to stay over here, lol. 👍👍
Of course the worlds cleanest bathrooms😂
im from Waco originally, live in Virginia now, i miss Texas and my family every day, the food in Texas is unreal, have a good time guys.
I love that end shot of Old Glory flapping in the wind and the sound it makes, it always makes my heart happy to hear that sound! So glad to see you enjoying yourselves, hoping everything meets or exceeds your expectations!
I guess MR. H, was here for the brisket, tator tots, sausage on a stick, and other items.😂
So much fun watching you trying the food, lol👍😂
As if Gatlinburg needed more people coming to it.
Fun times! Pulled pork sandwich needs some slaw on it!
Love you all, your Americans at heart… you need to move here and become part of us… love you to the moon….
We live in Texas. The New Braunfels Buc-ee’s is always our first stop to stock up when we go on road trips.
I love shopping there. The sandwiches are really good
The peach muffins at buc-ee's are ELITE!!
As approximately a tenth generation Texan I welcome you to Texas. I hope you enjoy your time and as others have said. Do some Texas stuff like a gun range and a rodeo.
I love watching you folks enjoying American meat. :) And yeah, banana pudding!
Alana is adorable! 🙂
The most under-appreciated thing at Buc-ee’s is the jalapeño/cheese summer sausage. Packaged slices in those circular refrigerated cases, and whole sausage rolls available by the fresh jerky counter. Really delicious and a good gluten-free low carb thing.
I'm partial to the pork and venison.
Welcome to Texas ! Hello from Houston
Your welcome I’m glad y’all had so much fun and got a lot of stuff
That size drink is what we call a bladder buster in Texas!
We live north of Dallas, . We ALWAYS get Buc-ee's Brisket to go. whenwe travel Texas So glad you are enjoying!
You always want to get two brisket sandwiches 😂
Yea, the banana pudding is incredible.
I used to live a mile from that place. It's crazy buzy in the summer.
Glad you enjoyed your time over here in Texas
Can’t wait for this !!!! I love bucees, I hope y’all enjoy it
Welcome to Texas !
Bless your heart Mrs H and Alana not feeling well while you were in Texas. Alana is so sweet. I love to walk through Buccees. Love y’all 🤗🤗🤗
It lookex like you all had a fun time. The food looked great. I love banana pudding.
Please come back! Much love❤
BUCEES!!!! We love our Bucees but love it even more when others get to experience it.
What a beautiful family with a sweet little girl. Welcome to Texas! Enjoy your stay!
Welcome Y'all!!
I was actually waiting after you took your first bite of the brisket sandwich to say ... Bloody hell!!!! 😂 And sure enough you did!!!!!
Awesome!! Love you guys, from Texas.
Watching Mrs. H testing the pudding it hit me that I was watching when she wasn't in any videos, you've come a long way since then and your darling girl is sweet and beautiful. Such a lovely family. It thrills me each time you come to the states to visit.
Pecan trees are native to texas, and they grow wild. Love pecan and mesquite. Pecan is our state tree. ❤
If you use your card at the pump they put a hold on like 50 bucks on your card. We always go in and pre pay.
Pete area. I will have to makeup reasons to go to them 😂
Little Alana is adorable 😉
