he is correct about camels. They were bought here to move things around the country (this was before cars and trains) and they could cope with our heat. They were used up north (Northern Territory) and central Australia. When they were no longer needed, owners just released them into the wild. We have the perfect conditions for them to thrive (unfortunately). We now have the largest population of camels living in the wild in the world. So I'm really glad that they have found a market in the US

When I used to attend college in Giloroy, Ca you could smell the intensity of it driving through. I absolutely Love Garlic. Garlic Bread is my Most Favorite as well as Country Potatoes with some Garlic Powder Seasoning. Thank you for all you do Sonny and Team! Keep up the Amazing work! 🧄😄🍽

We no longer have the festival. The 2019 shooting caused insurance to become outrageous for a non-profit festival. Paired with the increasing cost to shuttle people in from off-site parking lots, the city made the choice to shut it down. :( We've been trying to restart the festival in a smaller venue, like historic Gourmet Alley downtown, but so far, nothing is really "clicking" for us residents, and the city council isn't really interested in buying-out cropland for an annual festival.
The mac and cheese I grew up with always had onion and garlic. It was also much more solid than the regular stuff. and had a crusty breadcrumb layer on top. To me it is way better that way.

It's been permanently cancelled. Apparently they can't get insurance after the shooting in 2019. They cancelled in 2020 although that was kind of weird, and they had some sort of drive-up food only in 2021. It was more like a county fair atmosphere.

If you can't wander through merch aisles, listening to live music, sipping an ice cold sangria or beer, all while cramming garlicky treats down your gullet... it just isn't the same. A local farmer has offered to host a new festival on his land, but again... insurance and parking transportation costs are completely out of control. It's a shame, since the festival supported so many organizations, especially for kids, like marching band, swim teams, cheerleaders, and 4H, to name a handful.

The first time I had garlic ice cream was in Gilroy about 30yrs ago and it was awsome. Unfortunately some moron decided to shoot up the place in 2019 denying children (and adults) from experiencing that joy. Maybe someday it will return but it won't be anytime soon

For pasta i prefer pure corn pasta. Its a bit harder to cook/ sharter gold cooking time. But for how much smoother its texture is makes it worth the harder cooking time

I keep freeze-dried garlic in my pantry at all times. Perfect to add to recipes or salads for a nice zing of garlic taste.🧄😋

lol - Although aioli and mayonnaise are both creamy emulsions, aioli is made from garlic and olive oil while mayo is made from egg yolks and canola oil. I do find it funny how so many restaurants call flavored mayo aioli!
