Hopefully they get it approved and start mining soon. Mining jobs pay good with good benefits and that is what our country needs.

You can't even fish with a BARBED HOOK in the South Fork of the Salmon River as it is "too damaging" to the wildlife. Of course when it comes to big money minerals though, they have no issue absolutely destroying the land and letting chemicals leach into waterways.. This is really upsetting.

If it doesn't grow, you have to mine it.

Extraction companies invariably cause widespread damage and toxic pollution before packing up and leaving, unusually filing bankruptcy and changing their name in order to avoid responsibility. As is always the case in America, corporate profit takers are allowed to externalize the environmental costs associated with their operations while the public is left holding the bag. Happens every time. Also, the bonds these companies are required to post are a relative pittance compared to the damage they inflict upon entire ecosystems. They are never enough to cover the cost of clean-up and recovery. Never.

Mining operations do not have a very good record of cleaning up and restoring the land they mine.Toxic chemicals, road building in sensitive wilderness and mountainous land, I fear if mined , it will never be the same. Once roads are expanded, more access to the area, kiss it goodbye. My guess is, no matter what opposition and concerns, big money will push this through.

We have become over 95 percent dependent on foreign countries for our strategic minerals. It’s time we get back to being
dependent on ourselves. If this was a lithium deposited there would be no questions in opening it up and I’m sick of the Indian tribes trying to dictate when it comes to obtaining this countries natural resources. They’re no more native to this country than I am their ancestors were just here first. The Idaho conservation league can go pound sand also, they are just another environmental organization that exists for the millions in tax payer government funded grants they receive pretending to care about the environment. I’ll bet their CEO is making a six figure salary.

Who cares what the tribes say. This is the United States and we are tired of being held hostage by tribes. It is time to do what is best for our country as a whole not just tribes.

Those tribal members are also americans and they live in the area that would be directly effected by the mine. Why should locals suffer just so rich California and new york shareholders can get richer?

As of Dec. 1st 2024, China will stop supplying the United States with Antimony. So this is already a done deal. They have to do it. I mean there is also Antimony in Alaska, but this is a huge deposit. And it is only a few hundred miles away from the only antimony smelter in North America.

Are they going to build a railroad or just truck it out? Rails would be better.
