Cheers Steve. Hope you find them useful. I don't want to spoil the ending, but it turns out ok in the end 😉

Pity about the sun but a nice ride out. Looks like she never formally got named. I suggested Vert-i-go at the time. I hope to be trundling around there for the Beaulieu Jumble in September. B&B is booked in Lyndhurst, so fingers crossed. Ironically I will probably be in my green V70 if I don't choose the Amazon Estate. I look forward to progress on the next one. 😎

    Fantastic!
So glad this car went to someone who understands the importance of being sympathetic especially with an early right hooker such as this. It's a real credit to you, Phil!
The fact you have kept the original raised digit plates is the icing on the cake! Happy New Year, mate. (.*\=/*.) 👍

Thanks! Restore not renew wherever possible, that's my philosophy

Surprisingly good performance. Not 911 Turbo level, but still enough for our roads around here

Sun visors in a 2CV. First thing I did was remove them and throw away! Utterly useless given they obstruct the view. Haha.
Just before Christmas finally got my 1932 Morris Minor SV two-seater running and on the road (bought 4-yrs ago). I can honestly say that a 602cc 2CV in comparison with an 89-yr-old 847cc inline-4 side-valve 19bhp Minor, is powerful, quick, has excellent handling and ride (the Minor has a solid front and rear axle with cart springs), powerful brakes (the Minor has cable brakes - though the handbrake acts on the rod the foot brake is attached to, so applies all four brakes), excellent gearchange (the Minor is a 3-speed crash 'box), and the 2CV feels very modern in comparison.
I definitely agree about EV'ing a classic car. I love the entire assault on the senses of driving the 2CV and the Morris. The engine sounds and vibrations are part and parcel of the experience.
Enjoyed the drive out. Glad to hear you're going to hang on to 'Greenie' until summertime at least. And yes, the steering on a 2CV does weight-up as you approach lock. Perfectly normal. As regards to reversing, a drum-braked car doesn't suffer from the gearbox unwinding and jamming in reverse (has happened twice to me, though thankfully not in the last 15-yrs or so).

Those 20 years of extra development sure made a difference! the 2cv still has a ride comparable with anything modern. clever buggers!

What happened to the other 2CV project Phil?

Ah it's still out there. I think I've condemned the shell finally so looking for alternatives still. We can rebuild it!
