  • In this video I show how easy it is to cut down your own golf clubs at home if you feel that your clubs are too long for you. You only need the minimal amount of tools and no more than 5 minutes for each one. You might be surprised at how easy it is even for anyone that wouldn't know where to even start.

Milwaukee has a m12 pipe cutter. Would you use that?

Have you tried taking jumbomax grips off?

Yes they’re an absolute pain but I was using a rod. I think if you used a syringe they’d be fairly straight forward

Problem is often times shaft butt end will deform as you tighten the cutter. It makes it difficult to cut it in straight line.

You're using too much pressure. Barley tighten the blade and do several rotations till it gets easy then repeat.

    Is removing 3 inches do-able?

It’s definitely do able you just might have to thicken up the shaft with tape or the grip won’t stick

You can't be afraid of bending the butt end of the shaft. I started with a tiny bit of pressure, turned a few times, and adjusted the screw. Lather, rinse, repeat. The end of the shaft starts looking a bit like an oval, but then you find just the right amount of pressure for the wheel to cut, go around 5-6 more times, and you're done.

Those cutters are made for copper piping and thin steel tubing. It will 100% cut the shaft of a golf club no problem if you use it correctly.
