I’m Liam Harrison, Bolton born and bred. I’m a lover of Golf, life and laughter.
Started Golf 12 years ago after packing in football when i was 28 due to a back injury.
I started the TH-cam channel as a laugh and a Wim, to make me practice but that went out the window as i started vlogging, loving being on camera but more so the interaction with my #golfmates.
In 14 months i have seen the channel evolve and become the only real golf community on TH-cam which i am extremly proud of.

Reshafted my driver 5 years ago to a 3 wood shaft. Sacrificed about 15 yards but it's definitely a fairway finder. Couldn't be happier with it.
Great video Liam as for your back fella if the pain is across your lower back which mine was get an MRI sorted because mine went completely.. broken disc. Said on a previous video don't make the same mistake as I did pal.... but I still play when I get the chance 👍
Great vid Liam, I did the same to my Callaway Rogue, had struggled with slicing and mis hits, but at the same time could bomb my 3 wood. So I cut it down to the same length and BINGO it works so much better...really pleased with the result, it’s deffo now a keeper.

Rogue 13.5 driver cut down by 2 1/2 inches. My driver accuracy has gone up massively and distance only fractionally reduced, probably the most sensible thing I have done in golf (other than having lessons of course). I tend to find 220 in the fairway tends to be fractionally better than 245 yards in the trees, bushes, river, out of bounds etc. Go figure

Good vlog Liam. I have played a cut down driver all of this year. Whilst it's a few yards shorter it is a fairway finder. It was noticeable that even with a dodgy back your swing looked easier with Sheila. Play a few rounds with it you'll enjoy it.

90 pct of golfers will benefit from a 40-42" driver, 12-15 degrees loft.
90% of the time I play golf, I don't even bother taking my driver to the course. I have a 13° Yonex 3 wood that I use off the tee. I am very long off the tee to start with, especially for 62 years old, as I can still hit it between 240-260 yards. But...I am a really big guy...6'6"...and won more than a few local long drive contest's in my 30's. But now, I just play for fun with my "golf mates" ....and am happy when I shoot my handicap (12) or beat by a stroke or two. I carried a 4 handicap for many years...but I don't have the legs or the lower back of a 30 year old anymore!

Mr. Harrison- Interesting tests! I suggest getting some extra weight into the head area of the new club so that it feels the same weight (swingweight) as your Epic driver, because if you have not done this the club performance may not be as good as it could be. Ralph Maltby states in his clubmaking book "For each 1/2" the club length is reduced, the head weight must be increased by 1/4 ounce" (despite its great size, the driver heads are quite a bit lighter than a 1 iron head).

Liam, you said earlier that your Callaway 1 iron goes about 230. Now, this club goes the same. It supports what I found last week when I cut a driver to 3 iron length, it went a 3 iron distance.
For your back: get the "hang ups" equipment. You lock your feet in and then it allows you to hand upside down. This totally decompresses your back and you should be right as rain. Start with about a minute or 2 at first and you can work your way up to longer. Also, get "arnica" in a system that you can rub on your back, this will totally help. You can get arnica in a pill as well as lotion, maybe try both.
For your hair: the "hang ups" will help by allow more blood flow to your scalp. Hanging upside down is totally beneficial to getting oxygen to those hair follicles. Two, you need to add "diatomaceous earth" to a protein shake and start taking that every day. I was thinning and this totally thickened my hair right back up. There is no particular brand, just search "diatomaceous earth" and get whichever one suits your fancy. Also, take a niacin pill daily. That pill will turn your blood hot and put more oxygen to your hair follicles. Ok, cheers mate, hope you really try these.

When you created Frankenstein it got me thinking. I have an oldish Cobra driver with a matching 5 wood. Both have adjustable heads, so no need to cut anything. I just put my 5 wood shaft on the driver head. My mates are away this week so I went out yesterday on my tod and used my creation on a couple of short par 4s, a long par 3 and a couple of par 5s with tight fairways. Worked a treat! I parred them all, and I'm a lowly 12 handicapper. I found it easier to use than my 3 wood, and being a lefty, I couldn't find a mini driver to try out. Well pleased, and it cost me nowt.

I put on here last week about my M1 driver cut down to a 3 wood it goes fantastic and is a F.F 90% of the time with 10 to 15 yds shorter take that over being left or right of the fairway. Cheers mate keep the good work and hope the old haystack gets better soon.

Bolton Wanderers. Liam I cut 3 inches from an old Cleveland driver, it now goes 10 yards further than my nearly new Yonex gt 10 and straighter. Magic. Keep up with the good work. Cheers.
Did this a couple of years ago.. always struggled with my driver but hit my 3 Wood as straight as an arrow.. so I chopped my driver down to match my 3 Wood. Worked perfect 👌🏻

One of the things you have to consider is that when you cut the shaft down considerably, you seriously alter the overall weight, and especially the swing weight of the club. When Cobra makes their "One Length" irons, the weights and lofts of the clubs are not exactly the same as the "normal" length irons, because a Gap Wedge with a shaft the length of a 7 Iron still has to go the same distance as a Gap Wedge with the shaft length of a normal Gap Wedge. Same for every other normal club vs & Iron length club. To get that 7 Iron length driver to travel over 180 yards, there would have to be some other modifications to the loft, weight, perhaps the shaft flex as well.
Oh the pain, the pain! Back trouble, not nice Liam, give yourself a few days rest to let things heal/settle down. Bolton Wanderers👍

Well I cut down a 14 and a half utube special I could not hit at all well to a 7 iron length. New bigger grip to suit, took it out in an Ambrose and picked up two par three prizes on offer. So your mad idea worked for me, thanks!!

Did the same thing, actually bought a shortned shaft 2nd hand for mine - BUT - do remember to add weight to the club head afterwards - i googled "swing weight on a driver" and then guestimated an "approx" weight, with a tapemeasure and a kitchen weight. After the shaft change it was a c7 - dont know what that means, but read it was in the "lady driver area", then i added lead tape and now its back to standard... have no idea what it all means, and i was in no way using the right eqiupment, but the driver... has cost me 100£ max and its the best ive ever had ! sold my 400£ fitted G400Max, and now this home made 2015 M2 is the BOMB !

As always your the best. I talked with a golf pro about your experiment with the 7 iron shaft and the ping i15. His response was most tour players use a 43.5 inch shaft. So why are most drivers 45.5 inches? My only taught is the manufactures are only interested is distance.

I did the same with an old set of irons,took 2ins off each club and found that I didn't lose distance because timing and consistency improved!...what a crazy game 😫

It's a bit of a sod having a bad back, I have joint problems and now and them my back plays up. Before I play golf on a regular basis I rub can ibis oil on my joints and it gets me around. As I live in Spain it's stronger than in the uk but thank god for this oil. Enjoyed the demo Liam.

I think I would try 1 shaft flex less.. Example stiff to regular!.... But I bet over time you would hit 20% plus more fairways

I think I want a shortened driver ! My 2iron is a little too good for me, and the 4 wood always feels a little too small for my 10hcp to be confident with. Not a bad idea.

Great video pal, hopefully not offended the PC brigade lol. I have always played a slightly shorter driver and never lost distance. Anyone playing 45 1/2 drivers are mad!!!! Most new drivers come with a 45 inch shaft. Ricky Fowler uses a 43 1/2. So did Tiger, although he’s using 44 1/2 now. You will change the swing weight if you cut the shaft so keep that in mind. Probably a good idea to have a pro help. But for fun, cut away and have fun. I have an old g25, i think I’ll trim off an inch or two. Maybe 3 or 5 wood length and see what happens. Cheers.
