    thanks, great video. could i ask you how to re-grip without a vice? i have the solvent and the grips ready but am i going to make a mess in the kitchen? i suppose i should lay out some plastic sheet on the floor to catch dripping solvent?

    Thanks for this. Really helpful. As a real beginner - just had a question. I've inherited some 1990s Callaway drivers and woods that I want to use, but the grips are shot. Also need to replace the grip on the putter I have.
    I've seen these 'Golf Pride' grips online which seem popular. Is it like a 'universal' thing, whereby I can order four of thr same grips and they'd apply to any club, or are there specific grips for irons, woods/ drivers, putters?
    Hope I have made sense! Thanks

    Nice to know that white spirit actually works, I wasn't entirely sure about it after reading online that it can be used. It doesn't smell as bad as petrol, which is what I've always used before.

    what did you use for solvent. I believe you said “White Spirits,” so I was wondering if that’s what we call “Mineral Spirits” here in the US

    • @LukeHanlonGolf
      @LukeHanlonGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah i believe its the same thing, just any sort of paint thinner or turpentine will do. i've even known someone to use petrol but i wouldnt recommend that haha

    Did I miss something? I just tried but how did you just simply push the new grip on? It's obviously tighter/smaller diameter than the end of the club. I just tried and it didn't simply slip on, in fact wasn't even close. I tried stretching it and manoeuvering it by hand and nothing. I pulled, pushed, stretched. In the end the grip ripped.

    • @LukeHanlonGolf
      @LukeHanlonGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear about that, if that happens then you probably need to be using more fluid to cover it , certain grips and shafts are a bit more difficult than others thought but they’ll all go on with enough fluid on them

    • @junelee5645
      @junelee5645 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LukeHanlonGolf I have the same problem of not being able to push the grips in. Would you share what brand of grips you use?

    • @LukeHanlonGolf
      @LukeHanlonGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@junelee5645 I use golf pride but certain grips do take a bit more liquid to get them on easier than others even different types of golf pride grips are harder than others but as long as you use enough liquid you shouldn’t have a problem with which ever grips that you use

      Solvent is your friend. If you use a catch pan underneath, you can use a coffee filter and re use the solvent.
