    Have both of these. Have had many other knives, including many others from LT Wright (gary wines, gns, bushcrafter, and a couple others in sabre grind)....but these two, genesis and lagom, have managed to stay. I take the genesis when i only have one knife and a folding saw. I take the lagom when i have a saw and a small hatchet. I actually prefer the blade of the lagom slightly better, but both are excellent knives.
    Appreciate the work you put into your videos dave....thanks man.

    Nice!!! For myself, the choice would be the Genesis. Why? I consider the handle on the Lagom to be an invitation to slipping forward onto the blade. I require some kind of a hand/finger guard on my knives. But that's just me. I know that both are excellent quality. Take care Amigo....always great to see you back online!!!

    The Lagom baby! all the way😉 a true bushcraft knife. I dont have an Lt Wright Lagom or any hand made custom yet but I do have the Bushlore, Garberg, Mora HQ robust and the Cold Steel Finn Hawk. The Finn Hawk is the poor mans Lagom and not Reviewed enough IMHO, I know I've said it before but ya gotta order one Dave. I have been comparing it to all my Mora's and I have to say its won me over, its such an amazing light weight knife and has an amazing handle grip. It is the sharpest knife I've ever received out of box, I did strop it into a slight convex cause the edge was a hair thin for my taste but I love it now.
    Anyways I know once ya have amazing knives like the Lt Wright's some knives might just not appeal to ya anymore, but I hope that ya might consider the purchase. Great video Dave🙂

    Lagom is unique take on Skookum. great knife. BTW, which type of ferro rod you use, what diameter/size?. I noticed , you are very efficient in fedderstick fire making :)
    I still struggle whit this skill.

    • @HighCarbonSteelLove
      @HighCarbonSteelLove  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are exactly right - it's a very interesting interpretation of the Skookum. I really like the simplicity of the Lagom. My absolute favorite knife! The ferro rod I am using in this video is the "Kong", which is 6" long x 3/8" wide - www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrocerium-rod-Kong-6-inch-long-x-3-8-diam-mischmetal-ferro-rod-firesteel/132432280943?hash=item1ed5943d6f:g:nZwAAOSwEppUQ9OF. I purchase all of my ferro rods from Nathan4071's eBay store. Outstanding, affordable and many size options. Keep working with the feather sticks and you will be an expert in no time, my friend! -Dave

    The downside of owning both knives would be to decide which one to take with you . Cheers.

    Hey friend 🙂 You are the only one with Lagom videos so I have been watching them over and over😂 Can’t wait for Christmas because I am sure I will have one. Do you know how you like the ability to rock with the Lagom? The reason it is a bit harder with the genesis is they put a small convex on the apex. So it’s not truly a scandi ground to zero. It’s a scandivex.

    Nice knives, Dave. How do you feel they compare to the Benchmade Bushcrafter you have?

      Thank you for watching, Thomas! The Benchmade is awesome and feels great it the hand, however, I do prefer the Scandi grind of these knives. Nice to hear from you, my friend! -Dave

      Hey, my friend! I have a few knives in 01 that I have been using for awhile and I love that steel. I haven't been using A2 very long, but truthfully, I haven't seen much of a difference yet. Both are outstanding! Both have held their edges very well. I have not had to 'sharpen' any of my A2 knives, but have stropped them and it brings the edge right back to hair popping sharp. -Dave

    Say Heah Dave, Thanx You. Since I had a Blind Horse Bushcrafter in O1, I passed on getting the Genesis. I also had the handle on my Bushcrafter made flat with rounded corners fo a great comfortable handle, I also had it polished and it came out as a high priced Kephart. But being only a 4" blade,,I like my Benchmade Bushcrafter a little better especially after I formed the handle perfect. Anyhow, I got my GNS with the Coyoye Black Mountain Handle. Bit last week I used my Fallkniven A-1 and H-1 and carried both side by side because the Sheaths allows it. Last weeked, I used my Fox Jungle Parang, Its very similar to my Fox Parang Bushcraft Jungle Knife with a few minor suttle difference. anyhow I teamed it with my Cold Steel Master Hunter a great combo I might add. My friend also brought up my 3V Skookum Bush Tool. So after we got back, Just to compare my Fallkniven H-1 to my Skookum, I realized how similar the two are. Sure their different but similar. The Lagum reminds me of them. If I had to choose between the Lagum and Genesis as my Bish Craft Knife. I would prolly go with the Lagum. No offemce to the Genesis. Because I still love my Bland Horse Bushcrafter and its still going strong. I bought it for $125.00.,,.p

      HighCarbonSteel Love Dave Santa came again today, Bringing me my S.S. Canteen Cup (Military), But he also brought me my Fox Trekker Utility Camp and Sniper Knife, I plan to team it with my Fox Hitam Golok which was my first Fox Knife. Even though both are TactiKewl. Both will be used in the bush. Primarily I got them for my wet conditions which I don't mind going when wet. Their great in all weather because of the N690Co. Bohler Austrian Stainless. Yeah, I must of been a Good'Boy, Eah, heh heh heh.,,.

      But seriously Dave. I also put my Garner Gator. I went with the 420HC Clip Point and Serrations and again just took my Agawa Canyon 21 Boreal Saw. I was able to start my fire making curls with my Gator Folder. My friend is coming up again later on. She works at a hospital. She's not bad with our bish crafting and holds her own. She's using my tools so I don't know what she'll bring up. But she's a good cook. I think steak and shrimp is in order, heh heh heh. But I think my new Fox Hitam Golok which I already had and now my new Fox Trekker Utility Camp and Sniper Knife. Man they do sound TactiKewl, but seriously I know they will ne just right in the bush here on the border of Pa.,,.p

    Nice Review. Assuming Lagom is inspired from Swedish language and knife traditions, you can listen to how it i pronounced on wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagom :)
