My 2013 WRX has been like a 7 year build and it’s become more me, than me. I literally don’t know what I’d do without it. The mod list is like 50 items long and I couldn’t be more proud of it. I drive it every day, spirited mountain drives at 1AM, full track days, drifting around in the snow, running errands, and going to work. 120k miles, 21psi, 3rd clutch, but still going strong. Keep that maint up Subie fam. It’s a little rough around the edges, but they’re not as unreliable as they say. Treat your Subie like a friend, not a car.

Probably just lifted a head since the wrx/sti are not really prone to headgasket failure, that would be the now infamous old naturally aspirated sohc 2.5 engine with its crappy paper thin gaskets found on base imprezas, Foresters and a Outbacks.

My buddy has a fully built wagon and puts down 500whp. Thing is a monster. He has had engine failure but he is a subaru mechanic and fixes most of his issues. Kind of a sleeper because not many ppl look at it and think it puts down that much power.

if you want to build power on a wrx/sti... watch smeedia! The man has owned a ton of Subies, and he's a realist. Some people act like subaru engines are amazing and can withstand the force of Zeus, others act like its so bad you're better off modifying an accord... he tells you how to make certain level of power, and what you need to keep it reliable! What's the point of a fast car if it can't run :D

My advice owning a 2015 Scion FR-S for nearly 7 years. Avoid 13-14’s due to the valve recall. It’s basically mechanics not doing the recall warranty properly resulting engine failure. I’ve had mine with 48k (zero issues) and it’s a lot of fun and boosted too.

Twin scroll downpipe. all in all puts down a little over 290whp I mean honestly its a faster miata if it was AWD with double the power they handle really great in any weather and with the boxer engine being flat to lower center of gravity its great as a momentum car like a miata. These types of cars rarely see high HP like 7-900whp reliably unless you dump cash into them to make them strong people really get into these with the wrong mindset if you want boat loads of power go inline or v8 just do to reliability and ease of maintenance because regaurdless of the car. Its going to break with high HP some may last longer then others but they all break. Just do ya homework and know what you intend with whatever car you get..

Love the sound love the looks but the reliability of a high hp boxer engine in a subie is almost unheard of ... and that sux cuz imo they deserve reliability just cuz its not a inline engine mainly but I mean awd and the sound alone is 🤤🤤 ... but I don't own one tho so there might be secrets I dont know bought them like my forged bored .30 over and boosted miata I know from ground up as I have rebuilt it ground up and have not had the privilege of getting to tear into a boxer yet .. so plz interweb educate me lol ... peace n love to all stay safe build on and keep it radical

My friend want to buy a 3rd gen but is kinda demotivated to buy one because he heard some stuff people said that said it won't run and not a good car to start off with, plus its better he swap it and he is thinking of sr20 but reasons why to keep it EJ
