    I have a Yamaha psr s750. I think Yamaha has always had very good styles, even at those times when the keyboard itself was a pure crap. Korg has a very good dnc sounds and also an aftertouch. In addition, there are many other solutions that the Korg competitors do not own. In my setup right now are just the PSR S750 and the Roli Seaboard - this compensates for the deficit of both playing plasticity and solo sound quality. I think Yamaha styles are pretty good.
    Sorry for my poor english.

    I've been a great fan of yamaha,but now I can see that it's lagging behind..I mean the piano sounds of Korg pa1000 are incredibly great..And styles too sound more electric on Yamaha but korg sounds really real..

    as someone who has owned Yamaha going back 12 years or more to a PSR 3000, I have accumulated 1000s of songs with Yamaha styles. It would be almost impossible to change brands for compatibility reasons. Also the voice vocoder is excellent for a singer/performer.

    Well I purchased the Yamaha 950 and the Korg PA900 a while ago and each one has areas that they are strong and weak in. I find myself playing rhythms on 1 and the melody on the other. I've also downloaded lots of styles for both. After looking at all the videos of the Genos, I feel that Yamaha has finally made a significant keyboard and except for the price, I'd love to get one. Still paying of my credit card for these other ones however. Don't get me wrong, I love these keyboards.

    KORG has more natural sounds, Yamaha sounds always like a pre recorded sound from CD or Original Sound Track and not as an organ playing music. Besides, the agility, touch response, after touch, semi weighted keys and LCD Screen interaction for KORG players are far ahead better than Yamaha !

    I'm a KORG fan.. I own and use a PA-900, to write
    my own music, However in this demonstration, the
    YAMAHA has the KORG beat..
    The YAMAHA had the clearer sounds and more definitive
    styles and the KORG still sounded like a toy and then
    elevator or Old folks home music ..
    Next time try some music that's played in this decade without
    all the improvisations.. You're selling the product, not your
    musical ability for improvisational music .....

    Korg is more lively and the tonality of various instrument are more real than Yama. The sound is more fleshed out and detailed than Yama. Both are enjoyable but overall just for this video, Korg has the edge.

    • @MarkWilburnTLM
      @MarkWilburnTLM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's fair. Having studied both brands extensively (but not a Pa1000 yet, still waiting for that) but comparing the Pa900 and the PSrs950, I liked the Korg Nylon guitars more (slightly more sublte) but the Yamaha steel string guitars were slightly crisper; Electric guitars Yamaha sounded more 'real' but lacked the expressiveness (especially the pinched harmonics) of the Korg. Drums, particularly hi hats, were cripser on the Yamaha, but toms and snares tended to be warmer on the Korg, especially Analog kits.
      The PSRs950 piano was thicker, and again, clearer, but the PA900's was more subtle and less 'in your face'. It would be fair to say that Korgs tend to have a more 'classic' sound, vs Yamaha's cleaner sound; at least in regard to the PSRs950 vs the PA900. However, navagation is simpler on the Yamaha (loading styles in particular); but again, I can't wait to try the midi to style function of the Pa1000.
      I can't wait to a/b a PSRS970 vs a Pa1000 myself.

    Hasta el momento Korg en esta serie viene sonando muy mecánico, falto de expresión en sus estilos y un ligero descuido en las armonías de los mismos. Realmente, no parece el apropiado para la mayoría de los géneros expuestos, a diferencia de Yamaha. Lo que me encantó del PA1000, fueron las guitarras de cuerdas metálicas y la presencia de sus instrumentos de viento. Lo que no me gustó fueron las guitarras eléctricas, y sin duda alguna, la percusión... ¡es la peor de toda la serie PA!, bueno, quizá lo diga siendo un poco subjetivo, pero, a ver qué opina la mayoría.
    Del Yamaha PSR-S970 no tengo nada que decir, es un excelente teclado, que a pesar de ya haberse lanzado mucho antes, sigue siendo rentable desde el punto de vista económico y sobre todo, musical. Excelente percusión, guitarras (sobre todo eléctricas), buenos vientos, strings, efectos, y sin olvidar antes la memoria de expansión y el Software de creación de paquetes que amplían mucho más las posibilidades de este teclado.
    Muchas gracias por el video.
    Saludos.

    Hay que reconocer que korg ya está haciendo muy buen trabajo en sus series Pa. Con un sonido más natural y profesional. Mientras yamaha sigue teniendo unos sonidos muy similares desde hace años, algunos suenan como a teclado de juguete.

      Como los Pa con samples mal grabados, muchos de ellos en mono y a una capa, con sus estilos midi y ese horrible sonido de bateria, pueden ser mas naturales y profesionales que los sonidos estereo y multicapas del PSR S, que ademas en el caso del PSR S970/S975 incorpora estilos de audio es decir que la pista de bateria no es midi si no que es un audio de un baterista o percusionista profesional tocando dicho estilo.

      But the Audio Style concept is discontinued by Yamaha on the one hand, on the other hand the Audio styles are limited in number, the pattern can't be longer than 2 or 4 bars and when you play it slower than the minimum speed, it sounds horrible.

    • @robfriedrich2822
      @robfriedrich2822 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A good question would be, does Yamaha integrate Revo Drums into the next PSR S-keyboard?

    • @robfriedrich2822
      @robfriedrich2822 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say, when a company puts few Audio styles into the keyboard, it's like taking candy from a baby to get more realistic rhythm.
      But the point is, is the "more realistic rhythm" available for a Samba for instance? Or for a Swing Session Style with long patterns? Can the audio style part be adjusted by the part EQ? Or integrated in a sequencer song?
      In my proud opinion [ ;-) ], it's a bit like a musician, who can play 10 songs perfectly, put these on a demo tape to get a gig and disappoints the audience, that he plays other songs like a beginner.

    • @robfriedrich2822

      I guess, it could be next year. On the one hand, PSR S 970 became cheaper, on the other hand, Korg released PA 700 and 1000.
      But it could also be one year later. I think, it wouldn't make much sense to keep the audio style concept in PSR S series, because it's an improvement to few styles, before Yamaha uploaded Tyros 5 audio styles for Genos, there was no additional stuff.
      I also hope, Yamaha includes SArt2 into the PSR S series, few Revo kits and maybe all the Tyros 3 SArt2 voices, this would be a good improvement. Or maybe Yamaha does something, what is comparable with PA3 x LE.

      Rep Aralo el problema del Yamaha es lo que ofrece y lo que ofrece es nada para los precios tan elevados ,comenzando por el display no es táctil y son muy malos de calidad si se daña la reparación cuesta casi un 35% del valor del piano los instrumentos no se pueden modificar no se pueden usar sonidos personales " samples" el auto acompañamiento es limitado comparado con un Korg de las series pa,los midis suenan mejor en el Korg y tiene la posibilidad de usar samples para reproducir con sonidos reales de instrumentos personalizados ,mientras que el Yamaha solo debes hacerlo con su motor de sonidos integrados. Los Yamaha no se pueden actualizar. El Korg si ,eso mejora su motor de sonidos amplia la gama de colores. Etc.. entre otras de las muchas cosas como el precio de un Korg y un Yamaha que ofrece poco.

      No sabes lo que dices tio. Pantalla tactil? Para que? con botones fisicos manejo el teclado con ojos cerrados, lo haces tu con el tactil? Malas de calidad-mentira total, solo habia un modelo en que fallaba la pantalla, el s900, y de los fallos de korg ni te cuento. No puedes meter sonidos? El 970 tiene 500mb para instalar sonidos que quieres. Para que suene un KORG hay que meterle muuuchas horas, y el yamaha suena nada mas sacar de la caja. Si, korg tiene buenos sonidos, muchas configuraciones, pero para que? En produccion profesional se usa motif, kronos. Este tipo de teclados son para "chapusas en vivo", y alli gana yamaha con sus estilos, registros y facil manejo. Tengo al pa1000 y al s970 delante, se de lo que hablo. Y de precio, en esta gama yamaha es mas barato.

      My friend, You've missed one of the production features that manufacturers are counting on-the median age of purchasers.
      Now, since I am a Yamaha player, let me give you a little help. If you'll go to the PSR Tutorial site and check out their links to other sites (most notably with Jojosoft) you'll find find several thousands of styles developed for or copied from other Yamaha keyboards, developed especially for the PSR S970 or translated from other manufacturers keyboards. I've been able to easily convert these for my own use on my own keyboard, and the tools necessary for you to do the same, or to write your own styles are built in and easily available to you. I've been able to use or create around 4,000 of these for my own use. At the same time you can use voices from any Yamaha keyboard till the Tyros 4, and also be able to download registrations for your use.
      Go see a dealer and get your hands on one of these. Get him to share the secrets to these keyboards. I think you'll really enjoy yourself.

    Yamaha is still behind with the PSR-SX900. Yamaha has always been overpriced for what Yamaha delivers compared to competitors. When will they stop making Black plastic units. Wood grain looking plastic or other colors.

    to much different EQ settings , Eq of the Yam is to High and on the Korg to low . Not a good comparrison of the instruments , they are even . :-)

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are absolutely no EQ settings on either of the instruments. What you hear is simply the direct sound from each keyboard respectively.

    • @Soryt
      @Soryt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can adjust the Eq on both instruments first , than record .

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, but we do not use any EQ either on the products or in post-production as this would give an unfair comparison of the products. Both products must be EQ-free to give a true representation of how the sounds/styles are as a default.

    • @Soryt
      @Soryt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That fair , but mostly ( i do) the User set the EQ to his personal setting , the Yam eq is always to much in the high eq settings ( my opinion ) , Afterall its is a good comparison , Regards :-)

    *YAMAHA ES Y SIEMPRE SERÁ MEJOR, TIENE MEJOR SONIDO Y SUS VOCES, SON MÁS REALES TIENE MEJOR MOTOR DE AUDIO Y MEJOR SISTEMA OPERATIVO, ADEMÁS TODOS SABEMOS QUE YAMAHA COMPRÓ A KORG A ROLAND Y A HONDA EN EL AÑO 2012.
    YAMAHA IS AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER, IT HAS BETTER SOUND AND ITS VOICES, THEY ARE MORE REAL WITH A BETTER AUDIO ENGINE AND A BETTER OPERATING SYSTEM. FURTHERMORE WE KNOW THAT YAMAHA PURCHASED KORG, ROLAND AND HONDA IN 2012 AND IF THESE MARKS HAVE IMPROVED IT IS THANK YOU TO YAMAHA TECHNOLOGY.*

    yamaha es una caca no tiene para samples y sus display son malos, ni siquiera son táctiles y solo se puede trabajar con sus propios elementos no se puede expandir ni hacer mejorar ni mucho menos actualizaciones para mejorar. yamaha se quedo pegado en el psr-s900 y no evoluciono no ofrece nada nuevo la calidad de reproducir mp3 es muy regular, el korg ofrece mas servicios para la producción musical sus baterías son mas creíbles y se puede modificar cada instrumento a gusto, caso contrario del yamaha que es muy limitado, yamaha para mi era bueno pero se volvió obsoleto no ofrece mayores cambios solo precios elevados a cuestión de nada, prefiero el korg

    • @norbellrojas
      @norbellrojas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      El Yamaha es más costoso y el Korg es mucho más económico y su motor de sonido es mejor ,es una lastima que la serie psr- s de Yamaha no evolucionó solo sus precios elevados.

    • @norbellrojas
      @norbellrojas 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chendo kilos el precio varía en cada país pero el Yamaha de la series psr- s son muy caros y muy pobre lo que ofrece si se te daña un display el solo arreglo cuesta casi un 30% del valor del teclado lo que es un robo. Mientras que Korg es más barato su display es táctil y si se daña es barato y fácil de arreglar y se consiguen respuestos por Aliexpress ya que es de fabricación China.
