    Great video. Lots of good info on bullets. I have taken deer now with 2 of the ones you showed. First with 85 grain Noslers. Double lung, broadside at 40 yds. It did what ballistic tips were meant to do and completely exploded. No exit. Lungs as well. Second was Barnes 80 gr tipped copper. That deer was shot pretty much straight on. Bullet went through all the fat and meat of brisket, lungs, stopped just inside hide after traveling a good 20 inches or more. Didn't go very many steps. Bullet was mushroomed out as pretty as picture.

      Good info!! I have some Solid coppers but they have been lack luster killers fir me. Never lost a critter, but shots that shoulda dropped them didnt. Never had a bang flop with one.

    Outstanding. You have such a historical and practical knowledge. That's almost impossible to find. I've been so fortunate to find you, and the wild bunch here, to learn from and to just enjoy the information I'd never ever know on my own. The younger ones I hope are passing this down to their kids otherwise, all that will be left is factory. It'll be "what will do" rather than what is the best you can do.
    Just wanted to let you know.

    Try Ram Tac powder and don't be afraid to compress it. I'm getting 2950 fps with 80 grain ttsx and 27.5 grains of Tac. 27 grains and 100 grain TSX gives me 2750 fps and 110 grain FTX. 117 grain interlock and 26.5 grains gives me 2650 fps and 26 grains pushes the Speer 120 grain at 2475 fps. All loads are compressed but none have preassure signs. I'm shooting a 24" barrel.

    Great information on seating correctly & what works best for different uses. Dad had a 700 in 25/06 & loved shooting it. The 25/35 was a good cartridge but it's little brother 25/20 lacked power even though it has taken quite a few deer. Factory ammo for either is pathetic price wise now. Would love to see the 25/45 in a good single shot. Thanks for another good video.

    Hello CW. Outstanding tutorial of bullets for the 25/45 Sharps. wish more companies would make barrels for the M$R platform. The ARC and the Grendel have the Sharps bracketed pretty well though.

    Interesting caliber, but I'd rather have a .243. And there are several companies that make uppers and complete (ar) rifles in .243 if that's your thing. I'd still like to add a .25-45 to the collection though...

    • @bryanshull372
      @bryanshull372 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't get 243 Winchester in an AR 15. You have to go to an AR 10 which is much bigger and heavier. I was originally looking at 6mm/223 wildcat. Midway used to sell it in an Anderson upper but they have discontinued it. I wanted something to use all this 5.56 brass on. I have a 243 and 1 260 and they are great for longer ranges but at 100 yards and in they are very destructive. 25-45 and 6mm/223 are both great medium range rounds. 300 yards and in.

      @@bryanshull372 Ok- 6.5 Grendel then or .224 Valkyrie or 6.8 SPC...

    • @bryanshull372
      @bryanshull372 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuckeyeBallistics the 25-45 Sharps is the balistic twin of the 6.5 Grendel up to 120 grain bullets. I haven't tried stuffing 130 grain bullets in the 25-45, 120s are about its max with Ram Tac powder. The advantage of the 25-45 is its the same bolt as 5.56 not the greatly weakened Grendel and 7.62x39 bolts. I have a Grendel but couldn't find ammo at the time. I'm starting to see it now but it is expensive. 5.56 brass is cheap and easy to find. The step up to 25-45 is easy and doesn't require any special dies. Just run the 5.56 brass through the Lee 25-45 resizing dies and your done.

      Morning Craig! I found H335 tough ta beat. I searched for a while till I found aa2200 and its a winner in this cartridge. Benchmark and AR Comp also do pretty well. But ta buy one, H335 has been good to me here.

    • @craigv4193
      @craigv4193 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Cw. I have both H335 and A2200. I reached out to sharpes about using this bullet in my 16 inch Mid-Length Hbar purchased through them with no reply. I have all that’s needed to start these loads but I’m a little on my power range due to the fact these bullets are so long for the small neck. I enjoy my ftx 30/30 bullets and I’m in more of a wooded area so my shots are no more than 200 yards. I appreciate your knowledge and professionalism! Anything you could share about these bullets in my rifle would me much appreciated.
