found this by googling greesy ice lol. i almost got stuck the other day driving up an icy driveway while doing a delivery out in the boonies, and i was thinking how much more difficult it would be if some grease truck spilt grease or oil all over the surface xD

This is the first time I have seen this phenomenon, but with the winter we have this year in my part of Canada, we are going from very cold temperatures to rain, which is followed in a few hours by a new freezing temperature drop. Maybe I will have the chance to witness this phenomenon in a puddle of water : )

Highly likely given temperatures in North America this winter were colder than what we experienced in Antarctica this summer... keep us posted!

This is actually pretty insane.....the mere thought of water being that cold that it can allow snow to lay on top of it is a pretty crazy thought!
