- I took pictures of the Perseid meteor shower tonight. The peak is not until the night of August 12th to 13th, but activity is already high. I took the pictures on the Pestrup burial ground near Wildeshausen in Lower Saxony (Germany).
Ich habe heute Nacht Bilder vom Perseiden Meteorschauer gemacht. Der Höhepunkt ist zwar erst in der Nacht vom 12. auf den 13. August, aber die Aktivität ist auch jetzt schon hoch. Aufgenommen habe ich die Bilder auf dem Pestruper Gräberfeld bei Wildeshausen in Niedersachsen.

Ich hab in 2 Nächten insgesamt 12 Stück gesehen😍 hat sich dieses mal echt gelohnt! Letztes Jahr hatte ich gar nichts gesehen..6 Stück innerhalb von 30min jeweils..so viele habe ich noch nie gesehen 😮 Sternschnuppen sind einfach genau so schön wie ein Feuerwerk nur ohne Lautstärke😍

Moin, bin ich sehr froh dass wir in DE fast immer wunderschönen klaren Himmel im August für Sterne haben. In meinem Land ist diese Zeit (Jul-Sept) Sturm und Gewitter Zeit, auch mit Bortle 8 Himmel aus der Stadt, daher Perseiden ist etwa luxus für uns um zu beobacten, super Aufnahme

Amazing skies, stunning shooting stars 🌠 💫 🌟. How many hours of constant recording to in edit out the non events. By the way great editing, what time was the footage taken. I might want to try a 360°VR interactive for my channel.

The activity of Perseids is still pretty good a few days before the peak and a day after the peak as well if you missed the peak.
my first time watching meteor shower was on 29th july and there were only 10 it was a great experience
I'm so mad where I live we've had a severe lightning storm all night haven't been able to go out and watch it personally. It upsets me so much I've been waiting for weeks to see this and then a storm comes in

Hi lindemann I am Going tonight do you have the instruction for the time lapse , shutter seconds iso etc?
That really depends on the camera, the lens and the lighting conditions on site. But such rough settings would be 15-20 seconds exposure at ISO 3200-6400, at F2.8. But you have to try it out yourself on site.

Can a Sony A6400 capture this with only its kit lens? Im in a relatively low light pollution area. Like I can barely see the Milky Way Core. I know it's a bit too late to ask but I still am curious. Thanks!
Capturing the meteors on video with this camera/lens combination is very difficult. Maybe only the brightest ones. You need a fast prime lens and a sensitive camera to capture the meteors on video.

Stellarium can show you where it is just by pointing your phone to the sky. xD

I would say Sony a7s III. But a fast lens is very important too.
