      I think that's a much harder ask because you need decent plywood and a lot of 2x4s cut to specific length. I'm sure you could still do it on the cheap but it's gonna be hard to make a sturdy decent qp that's worth the time and effort out of cheap garbage.

    • @sauceboss9313
      @sauceboss9313 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I wouldn't say they're over priced. If you calculated the time it took you to drive to the store, buy all the material, formulate a cut sheet (or wing it and maybe miss something), assemble, and maybe have to paint/seal/coat. The slappy ledge is $399 at $100+ hour, which is what anyone in the service industry charges, it would take about 4 hours or more to complete it (with quality workmanship). Once Keen starts to grow and actually open a manufacturing facility with more efficient processes the prices will go down, but support now for them is the most important thing for growth.

    hey guys, i have to say, i watched this video and got inspired. i literally found a bed frame sticking out of a neighbor's trash can a few days ago. i borrowed an angle grinder from a neighbor (literally). he showed me how to use it. instead of building a grind box like you did, i got a 4x4 post from home depot. cut it down to the length of the bed rails -- about 5 1/2 feet -- and put the rails on both sides of the 4x4. added some short 2x4 cut offs for feet and stability and the thing ROCKS! i spray painted and waxed the rails and it slides so fast i can barely stay on it! super stoked. thanks for the tutorial and keep doing 'em! btw, i'm 48 years old and got back into skating last year to teach my 2 little boys how to ride. loving it.

    I need to get a new box, years back it was at a friends along with a rail I had custom welded. His mom just gave them to her gay friends kid. It could have been worse, seeing him call his parents fags was kinda funny. But I'm going to use 2 by 4s, and make it 2 by 5 or six. I'm gonna make it around 5" tall to skate it like a curb, and to adjust the height I'm going to either use cinder blocks and maybe have two sets with just regular blocks and the other set will have a smaller block liquid nailed on top. But putting some 4 by 4s together would work. Also I used to work at home Depot, those toppers would work, but you'd want a few more supports going across the frame as they're somewhat thin. Also if you keep it from getting rained on its relatively smooth. Edit: after a minute I thought "this sounds like Dan".

    Careful about taking those blue pallets, those are owned by a company that rents them out, they give them back to shippers. The company is pretty crazy about enforcement too, they send people into non-customer warehouses to make sure they aren't using their pallets. If you notice, they are the most solid pallets

    I'm ashamed with myself... at 16:16 I instinctively tried to blow off the metal dust and promptly realized the problem with that🤯

    This same design should still work fine for grinding bmx's right? Like just make the box itself a bit higher since we have to jump a bit higher.

    Went to a new construction site in my area, one house had a couple of piles of scrap wood. Asked permission and walked away with a bunch of nice 2x6s 🙌🏽

    Shout out to y'all originally i was gonna make my own but since this vid imma just buy one of y'all's bc a lot of the time people shove products in ur face and don't realize that some people don't have money like that to buy ur product but y'all are like hey we understand if you can't buy our products because they aren't super available financially for everyone so here is a alternative so thanks
