That was a lot of work! We turned our spare room into more of a sewing room for me a couple of years ago and sorting through my stash was awful! We'd bought a couple of Kallax units and I rolled up my fabric and tied it with twine, adding a tie-on label with the fibre content and the measurements. Whatever you do, sorting and storing it properly in some sort or order is very empowering isn't it! Sending you all good wishes for 2024 and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this year!
I came across your channel last night and so glad I did. I'm just about to go through my remnant stash and this has been very inspiring. I get given and thrift a lot of fabric for my business but we're moving and it's a lot to manage so... Thanks for being so real and honest and helping me feel less overwhelmed :)
Hi! I’m so glad I was able to help you feel less overwhelmed 💕 It can be hard just getting started sometimes, can’t it? Now that I’ve done it I feel like a weight has been lifted off and I’ve finally been able to let go of those guilt items. It’s having the added benefit of influencing my husband to go through his stash of collectibles and we’re now selling off those unwanted items one by one. It’s a good domino effect. I wish you every success with tackling your stash and with your move. Happy Destashing!
Great video Sian 😊 You have inspired me to sort my fabric stash as well! The quilted fabric you have left over from your jacket would make a lovely quilted project bag.
Love your change of mind plan - abundance - and to share!!! You are giving me some hope I can do this too! I was able to make dog beds with a ton of scraps and old apholstery pieces. You may not want to give yourself any more work at this point I understand! It worked out that I was able to donate them to a local vet/boarding near me. At least it was recycled one time anyway. Dogs chew beds I know! hahah!
That's wonderful, I'm sure they were very appreciative :D Yeah, I'm reluctant to add to my to do list but will certainly made a go of using them all or putting them to good use :)
Sounds like we’re on the same page. I’ve invited the spirit of Marie Kondo into our house in an effort to reduce the anxiety associated with waaaaaaay too much stuff! My yarn stash is pretty much under control - all listed in Ravelry & stored in many small tubs arranged by colour/weight or project (in -waiting). Volume of yarn stash…? We’ll let’s not mention that….I have a relatively modest fabric stash and love your ideas about storing/stacking for visibility, and maintaining an inventory (downloaded the app as soon as you mentioned it 👍🏻 Also decided to try again with a ‘Resilience Agenda Mental Fitness Diary’. I’ll look forward to seeing your progress and that will help me stay on track too. Good luck ❤
Wow, you're so organised, I love it! Haha, we 're all entitled to our little secrets when it comes to size of stash ;) I haven't heard of that diary, but it sounds like my kind of thing :) I'm so pleased that we're all on this journey together. Good luck to you too!

Fantastic! I've seen other do something similar and it would be great to have them on display like that too. Oh yes, it's so empowering! Thank you

I think I have enough of that fabric to make several bags :D Oh I hope your stash isn't as crazy as mine! I'd love to hear about it if you do.
@@theobsessivemaker No, my fabric stash is little bit smaller than yours, mostly quilting fabric 😊
