Showing all your sewing WIPs you have reminded me of a quilt that I have half finished, I think its time to address that! I am looking forward to seeing some of those items finished in your future podcasts 😊 I was also planning to knit another Tolsta tee this summer and I think this week is a good time to cast on, thanks for influencing me Sian 😂
Big applause from me for your look at these lovely projects. I have often found as you said at the beginning something you had been ignoring took 15 minutes to fix. UGH what we do to ourselves huh?! I am getting inspiration from your work!
That Tamarak bomber jacket is so good!!I I love seeing all the WIPs! You could just keep going on the Tolsta in stockinette and just have two eyelet rows in the yoke. Love the lady face pants! Ooh thanks for the shoutout!! ❤❤❤
I laughed at loud when I saw your fennel Fanny pack pieces - I have the exact same thing - all cut out and in a pouch since Christmas 2020 when I was planning to make it while on holidays. Stellar effort making this video in the one take in the heat! So many projects that are so close to completion! Hopefully touching them all has given you a boost of motivation to continue lots of them. The pink bomber jacket is a fave for me!
Maybe you're supposed to put the stitches of the 1st triangle of the traveller shawl on scrap yarn and finish all the edges with an icord bind-off once the shawl is finished? I am so in love with that tamarak bomber, bummer that I live on another continent and we're not friends. I also watched your stash clean out today, and I have to applaud you for your sense of colours, looking at your stash and your wips makes me so happy (it is very grey here in the northern hemisphere).
Thanks for sticking with watching these long episodes of WIPs and stash reset, you should also be applauded 🤣💕 seriously though, thank you. I love my refreshed stash, and now I feel like I have some air to create with my lovely remaining fabrics. Where in the northern hemisphere do you live? I figured out the shawl conundrum. The knitter is definitely expected to go back to the preamble of the pattern to find the tutorial link. But it would have been so easy to just insert a sentence at that point of the instructions to clearly direct the knitter.
I am quite like you in that I often lose interest in a project when it's so close to being finished. I have a couple of shawls waiting to be blocked, and several sewing projects that only need a few bits doing to them to get them done. Taking everything out and looking at how close you are to finishing is often the kick up the bum to just do it as the saying goes! Personally I would line the sleeves of your jacket, if only to avoid that horrible feeling of putting the jacket on over something that will catch or 'stick' on the sleeves when you put your arms in. The lovely feeling of your arm sliding into the sleeve will make up for the couple of hours (at most, hopefully!) taken inserting the lining.
I have 18 crochet and knitting wips at the moment 🫣 I am trying to have less than 10 by mid year I think. I can’t sew anything more complicated that a project bag but I enjoyed seeing all your lovely sewing projects!
Definitely use the BWM cotton for another summer top, it’s amazing. I just finished a long sleeve cotton jumper from left overs. Washes really well in a bag in the washing machine. I also made the Camp Wilkerson shawl by Caitlin Hunter with it. Loved seeing all yr sewing. Wish I could sew 😫
Oh fab, thanks for the feedback on the yarn. Might try to use it more often, it so affordable too. Aw thanks! You could learn to sew too 😃 it so fun and rewarding! All you need is time, curiosity to learn & an old cheap sewing machine.
Love your channel Could you hold picture of patterns and yarn bands up for people who don't know Also can you do a podcast of fellow Australian yarn knit crochet podcasters
Thank you! Oh gosh I’m terrible at holding on to ball bands, I always throw them away once they’re off the ball 🤣But I will be better in future. If you haven’t seen it yet, my friends Kath (@MindfulMelbourneMaker) & Sarah (@sosarahsewed) also have channels.
I love the little Woollie advent you got. Which mood board did you get? I got grungy goodness and merry and bright but I was torn between merry and bright and the pastel rainbow mood boards.
Ooo nice, a friend of mine got that the grungy goodness one. How was the merry & bright? I got the vintage rainbow Dk - 12 days. It fit my pastel palette 😂
Hi! Sure thing. It’s a combo of Wild Earth Yarns Polwarth DK (undyed) held with Sysleriget Silk Mohair in “Unicorn Party”, a rainbow speckled base. Since this mohair came out I’ve seen a few other dyers do something similar so it’s more accessible now.
I love your blouse! such pretty fabric and shape

Thanks! Hmm, I could keep going on the Tolsta, I’ll mull it over a little longer 😉
The pants are rather fun aren’t they?
Love your creations. You are so talented and colours are always stunning. Thanks for another great podcast.
Thank you so much!☺️

😂 really?! Maybe we should have a fanny pack WIP down?!
Oh yeah, airing them all out has me eager to finish them.

Thanks! You’ve made an excellent point and convinced me to insert the sleeve lining 😃

Snap! I have 18 too! Ok, we can do this and get some completed 🙌🏻

Why not leave the eyelets on the Tolsta as a yoke detail and knit the rest of it in stockinette?
I might mull it over a little longer.
