    Capoeira is awesome. I only practiced for a few months but it was great because it made me more flexible and gain rhythm, which I didn't have at all. The music is so great as well because it gets your feet moving

      It's for good reason why a lot of prominent fighters have a background in dancing. Rhythm is the language of all martial arts - learn it, and you have one of the most important, fundamental bases you can get.
      High-key envious of the people who have a capoeira gym within feasible driving distance lol. One day, one day.

    I'm adding that kick to my repertoire. It's useful for keeping attackers at a distance whilst trying to get up off the floor

    I remember seeing a video of two dudes doing an unofficial fight on grass, and the one dude knocks the other one out with one of these almost immediately after the fight starts. It was absolutely insane, but I haven't seen the clip ever since. So glad I learned the name of the technique, since it looks to be absolutely beautiful and incredibly powerful.

    It's really awesome to me, that capoeira can be used as a form of kickboxing. When you look at all the punches, elbows, stances, takedowns, and kicks, that's essentially what it is.

    That is one of many kicks that delivers a lot of force. In Capoeria. There are kicks where the first kick is a decoy and off the same motion and momentum of that kick it is the second kick in motion is the effective strike.

    It’s a type of Capoeira kick that I can’t spell or pronounce but it’s the strongest kick in that martial art and it was delivered beautifully. You don’t see Capoeira being used very often in real fights very cool.

    The idea of constantly changing angles and flowing with your opponents as they attack and striking the opening all with footwork and body positioning is very cool. The sliding foot sweep to rising round house kick is lethal and the takedown move is very cool too.

    Love capoeira,been studying it off and on for a few years and this kick is one of my favorites , and one of the things I love about capoeira the most is the smooth transition in between every move , like anyone move can be done a variety of ways and that's amazing

    One thing that this video doesn’t explain is, the art doesn’t make the technique work, the practitioner does. If the art made it work, then ALL capoeiristas would be lethal when it’s obvious they are not. The guy in the fight science video, Lateef Crowder is a high level martial artist, and most likely was in his prime as well physically.
    The teacher in this video helping he guy, was also knowledgeable in capoeira, as well as the application of other martial arts, which is useful for this video.
    One thing that differentiates capoeira from all other martial arts is, most martial arts are an applied system of self preservation with an applied philosophy to life. Capoeira is that plus music, poetry, acting, and so much more. Hence why so many martial artists never learn the vast, and deep culture within capoeira itself, that most Brazilians don’t even know.

    Taekwondo is my first martial arts when I am 7 years old, then I take capoeira class when I am High schooler and I fell in love with it since then
    In my country combat sport is not popular so I get surprised when people on internet confront capoeira as useless fighting arts when it come to real fight.
    Then I learn muaythai in my college years and watch how saenchai fight, how conor mcgregor fight....
    Damn saenchai use Au kick and connor mcgregor use meia lua de compasso kick, who said capoeira useless now....

    the only problem with introducing different combat styles, is people immediately are looking for weaknesses and not learning something new. MMA doesn't determine what works and won't work. it's all about the individual. there's no "perfect" fighting style mixed or un mixed.

    • @astrayblue1
      @astrayblue1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Aiden Fisher wrong MMA is different from real life. That's my point.

    • @astrayblue1
      @astrayblue1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Aiden Fisher so you're misunderstanding my point. I didn't say MMA is ineffective. What I said is it's not realistic in its own right. It's a sport. Anything or anyone can kill someone. That's why there's rules in other sports too. However MMA doesn't determine what is truly effective to a fault. Just because it doesn't work in a ring doesn't mean it doesn't work in real life combat situations.

    • @astrayblue1
      @astrayblue1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Aiden Fisher if you really believe everything in the ring works in the streets there's no need for debate.

    • @astrayblue1
      @astrayblue1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Aiden Fisher you're trying to reframe my point. Strawman arguments aren't gonna work for you with me.

      @Aiden Fisher I ended this Convo days ago, you're trying to win a debate with a strawman argument. Lmao 🤣🤣🤣

    É dificil ver qualquer conteúdo sobre capoeira que não seja no Brasil. Nem sabia que existem professores na gringa.
    Edit: oh fuck, forgot to translate to english, basically said that it was cool to see someone from outside of brasil interested in such a essencial part of our culture
