    I dig it! I've got a guy on the dojo who is a sweep monster. Hopefully he doesn't see this video or he'll become too powerful.

      Once someone develops a taste for sweeping, its a hard habit to break. (Like when a lion first eats a person...or a raccoon first eats garbage.) Its just so satisfying to hear a guy's whole body hit the ground in one big thud.

    As a shorter smaller fighter, which I am as well at least compared to the guys at my gym, what tips do you have for nullifying an aggressive, pressure fighting “Rodtang” style opponent?

    • @KevinLeeVlog
      @KevinLeeVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hard to say. If he fights like Rostang then I would do more body shots or drill my sweeps to make them more effective. I am usually a counter attacker, and exist out with leg kicks or strikes.

      @@KevinLeeVlog thanks for the reply! I’m working on exiting on angles instead of moving backward and sweeps as well as intercepting with knees, I’ll let you know how it goes lol

    Genuine question have you thought about posting some sparring footage from the gym? It might be a pain with release dorms and consent but it could be planned ahead to show practical application in context. Just a thought.

      Thought about it. But honestly I might just do a filming day for whoever wants to be a part of the project. Or get another TH-cam to spar with me. 🤣

      Most of my FMA came from Guro Dan Inosanto. I also study Balintawak under Master Bobby’s lineage.

      @@KevinLeeVlog Do you know wing chun fatal flaws? Face not protected with guard stance, and chin not tucked in aka floated face. th-cam.com/video/PVpjIuh7m5c/w-d-xo.html

      jkd encourages people to look past style or form and to adapt techniques from any discipline if the technique is effective. It's why Kevin is a more exciting and interesting TH-camr to watch than the typical mma knucklehead who says "these are the 5 martial arts that work, the rest are pointless garbage"

    • @sportmuaythaiv1045
      @sportmuaythaiv1045 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timlamiam I'm not discrediting Kevin Lee, but am discussing about Wing chun. "If the first button in a shirt is put wrong, then every button will b wrong." If you see the clip I posted above, you'll clearly see the fatal flaw of Wing chun. That was a very big event in China. The Wing chun man claimed to be direct linage of Ip Man. I beg to add another video clip, exposing same Wing chun flaw. th-cam.com/video/6BIao0WAZyw/w-d-xo.html
