Man i remember playing Star Ocean 2 on the psp back in the days, the game was one of the first JRPG i played through completion and it was an absolute blast. Glad to see the remake on switch feels and looks both new and classic!

My pick is Unicorn Overlord. It not only takes me back with its 90's homage, but it also brings me forward. I also want to play it every night!
My favourite is Balatro. Watching the numbers climb as your score with your totally broken deck is stupidly addictive.
That's an easy one. Spent over 100 hours in Kingdom Come : Deliverance on Xbox One X back then, but I am thrilled to play it again on switch 🤩
The engine building in Balatro is sooooo satisfying when you see it play out. Sure, it's easier to build a flush machine, but deciding to just blow everything up mid-run and go with the 'madness' joker or something like that is a lot more fun. What a game!

You know what's odd? I keep hearing how flushes are the easiest win, but I've yet to win with a flush build. Every time I try to build one, I never get the right jokers / arcane cards / etc to support it. Every single one of my wins have been done with a full house build (bar one, which I thik was a "three of a kind" build).
I'm working on unlocking the checkered deck, which should make flush wins even easier, and I totally see why in theory flush builds should be easy even with the starter deck, but I just never get the jokers to support them due to what is apparently some unusual RNG. Love this game.
@@nicked_fenyxAs you said, unlocking the checkered deck makes all the difference in flush builds. Once you unlock that, the Blackboard and the wrathful joker can be quite helpful. I think you can build a 'flusher' without the checkered deck though, if you use the Smeared joker (makes all red 1 suit and all black another). My favorite build is actually based on two pairs and almost always includes the hiker, space joker, baseball card and the trousers which give you the sense of progress during a run. Also, I've found the Hologram and the Constellation to be pretty strong if you want to have a build that is upgradeable.

I’ve been having blast with Unicorn Overlord. Vanillaware continues to be the Studio Ghibli of videos games, it’s a feast for the eyes and the voice cast is totally cracking as well.
Many people have complained about the English translation, but it’s such a cool interpretation of the fantasy setting.
My favourite is Vampire Survivors, 170 hours, love it in single player and co-op with my mates! I have so much fun with it, no 4K, no ultrarealistic textures, only fun fun fun. I love my Switch❤

Balatro is a masterpiece. 95% as addictive and quintessential as tetris. One of the top 5 best games on switch and I do not toss around top 5's lightly.
I'm actually afraid to buy Vampire Survivors because I won't play anything else and won't see sunlight for the next few weeks.

I’ve played vampire survivors quite a bit. Such a simple, good game. Very well built. There’s also strategy involved as you go deeper into your run with how you build your upgrades. Currently playing KOTOR. Trying a gunslinger light side build. Definitely one of my all time favorites. Wasn’t able to have an Xbox growing up, actually used to rent one from Family Video for twenty bucks on a weekend lol. So it feels so cool playing now all these years later on my Switch. Great video guys.
Star ocean 2nd Story R looks to be my favourite and I haven't even played it yet, that's mainly down to you guys and your review, from the beautiful contrasting artwork to the addictive looking combat this looks like a game that demands replaying!
I am loving Balatro at the moment :) so much more addictive than I thought. Trying to get the highest scores per hand, find joker synergies and so on
So glad to see Balatro getting some love. I've been addicted to that game since launch. It's a great "loading game," or one to put on when I only have a few minutes to play (so long as I can force myself to stop, haha). Balatro is so easy to learn, yet the amount of depth and replayability with the numerous jokers and different starting packs is through the roof. This is a game that could easily steal hundreds - if not thousands - of hours of my time. It's just. so. good.
I've also sunk a fair bit of hours into Mudrunner: Expeditions. I don't personally plan to make use of multiplayer, so its absence doesn't bother me much - though I can see why it would be fun to play with friends. There are still some bugs and quality of life features I'd like to see addressed, but nothing game breaking. It's so relaxing to just boot up the game and either knock out a few expeditions or hop into free roam and search for upgrades and tasks to do that way. I recently unlocked the "Tatra Force" by towing it back to base, and holy crap is that truck good. *By far* the best vehicle in game. I use it for scouting, hauling stuff... literally everything. It turns some of the hardest missions into a cakewalk. Getting it was a huge PITA (due the difficult tow that was almost thwarted by a bug at the very end), but man... I love that truck. Great game, with tremendous potential.
I remember playing Star Ocean on the PS1. It was great. But at the end the story went over my head. I didn't know if it was my poor english skills, or a poor translation being the main culprit. Anyway, great to see that it has been re-released! I'm honestly thinking of picking it up, giving it another go now when I am 41 and have hopefully improved those language skills xD
oh man, when it comes to addictive games, for me it wasn't the Switch, but HL: Alyx on PCVR. The game is about 15 hours long. I played it in two days. an have totally played it for 120hours. But yeah, except re-playing the campaign three times, I have also played mods and custom campaigns. It's just very addictive to immerse yourself in a completely different world!

Kingdom Come Deliverance looks like Skyrim !! I would love to try this game out. I am currently playing Borderlands 1: Game of the Year Edition.. This game is very addictive !! Snowrunner was a massive timesink for me. I know it's had a fair few mentions on the channel, but there's just something very relaxing about transporting a trailer of metal beams from point A to B within the scenic locations it puts you in 👌

It’s 75% off right now and i’ve never seen it go on sale in The Netherlands. I got my eshop credit using the site G2A and I bought the North American eshop card.
My favorite is definitely Unicorn Overlord. Fire Emblem is one of my favorite series of all time, and this game captures a lot of that same essence that made me love the series.
It really reminds me of auto-battler games as well. Forming different team comps and adjusting tactics to strategize, and it makes you feel so smart when you see your team destroy the enemy without taking much damage.
The overworld also has a lot of fun objectives. And seeing your territory grow from each battle is so satisfying.
It might be one of my favorite games of all time. 10/10 for me.
Vampire survivors is so addictive that you will need rehab after or you will start seeing treasure chest opening in when you close your eyes!
I can't remember if you mentioned it in one of the previous addictive games videos, but I just started Loop Hero and I can feel the hooks digging in already. Scarily addictive game!
Love these videos because I love how different the suggestions are between Mark and Glen. I tend to agree with Mark more often than not, but Glen really broadens my gaming horizons and gets me thinking about trying games normally I would not!
I neglected VS for way too long because the idea of auto-attack just sounded so simplistic, but it really does work. And it’s so very satisfying.
Love vampire survivors, I have it on my mobile phone and it is so addicting once you build up to those super flashy skills and the whole screen goes craz

If I saw Belatro described in words… or even just watched the trailer alone, I would probably totally dismiss it as ‘not my sort of thing’.

Agree with star ocean, never played it previously and never played an rpg apart from pokemon, picked it up as a blind buy and was instantly hooked loved the art style, story, characters, gameplay and levelling system, cant recommend it enough

Vampire survivors is such an incredibly good game, couldn’t stop playing for several weeks, it’s the loop it all goes through that gets me the most, and the dlcs keep it all surprisingly fresh! Keep it coming! ❤️

Star Ocean Second Story is a classic and a game I sunk well over 100 hours into even as a kid. Most addictive recent game for me has to be Hades. I'm ready to drop 200+ hours into Hades 2 once that one comes out as well.

I think that rogue like games are by default the most addictive games. It is kind of baked into the formula of just one more run, small gains and improvements after each one making your chances of success ever so slightly greater with each play. It's like digital crack. Vampire survivors is one of the best at this for sure.

Expeditions is a watch for me. Picked up snow runner after watching your review on it. Great game and it's so addictive. Will probly get expeditions when it goes on sale.
KCD I’ve put hundreds of hours on the Xbox version. Being ambushed by bandits/soldiers and coming out on top despite being outnumbered feels amazing. It’s a hard game (at first), but a very rewarding game to learn.
My Favourite is definitely Vampire Survivors. One of the most addictive games that I still play everyday 😊

I actually got Colt Canyon based on y'all's recommendation and it's my go-to travel game whenever I have to hop on a short flight for work. Great time killer.
I keep forgetting about picking the Vampire Survivor game as it right up my ally, but now thanks to your reminder I now have it in my inventory and it was a blast! Probably picking up Mud Runner and Kingdom Come as well if they are on sale.
After hearing both reviews from you guys at SwitchUp, I'm excited to try Penny's Big Breakaway and Kingdom Come. Since I got back into gaming in 2017 with a purchase of the Switch, I'm only now playing games that were critical and popular successes on older platforms so games remastered or adjusted to work on the Switch like Kingdom Come, its satisfying to play what I had missed out for several years. Best part about Switch Up which always sells me on games in my ever growing backlog is the candid honesty of simply stating that its not as bad or garbage as other reviewers says and never have been steered wrong!
My easy favourite is Unicorn Overlord. It was a pre-order for me, and I love it. But I’m also playing Star Ocean right now, and I have to say, it’s really great too.

My pick is kingdom come!!! I know most these games are good, but the sheer amount of effort for voice acting and the story, the randomness and the flexibility of the game takes it all away. I've always wanted one! But my potato of a Laptop can't even run anything haha. It would be great to win❤❤❤
That vampire game looks extremely fun. Also that Kingdom Come game is something i didnt even know existed on the Switch. It looks very very cool & Im glad theres people out there putting very cool games like that on the Switch. Look forward to trying that some day.

Duuude! Vampire survivor was one of the biggest surprises for my family! We actually started using strategy together to decide, who got what, to evolve items. It's such an amazing game y'all! 10/10

Star ocean is in my backlog and looks like I’ll have to bump it up. Bought the physical. The sci-fi and fantasy mix attracted me too. Looks like I can get engrossed in this one.
I have been playing the free trial of Vampire Survivors through Nintendo Online and while I found it tedious at the start, I kept coming back for some unfathomable reason and yep can confirm it deserves a place in this list 😅. With the DLC and being on sale in the AU, I am struggling to not hit the purchase button and losing the battle not to add to my already mountainous backlog. Thanks for your hard work Gents! I hadn’t realise you could play battlefront single player, so that brings it up my list for me. Really have my eye on kingdom come, I remember getting oblivion and getting really pissed off coz I’d battled my way stuck into a high level dungeon and had to restart. Hadn’t realise I had to level my character up. Have a feeling kingdom come will be something similar - happy days x

It's really impressive that they were able to make KCD work on the Switch. I remember when I bought it for my pc and it was killing my i5 2500K. It was the game that prompted me to upgrade my pc.
Vampire Survivors is my pick. There is so much value in it and it is so easy to come back to regardless of how many runs you go through. It's quite the gem.
i'd have to pick kingdom come. i remember when the game first released, my friend had it and was boasting abt it for soooo many days ( he js wouldnt stop bragging bruh) and at tht time I didn't have a laptop capable of running it(still dont lol) but I recently got a switch lite and have been playing on it. I think the arrival of more games like kingdom come on the switch will most likely be the best for people that dont have capable gaming pcs. I have had kingdom come in and out of my cart many times over. I’m just a sucker for a crazy port… even when I can play it on my steam deck for $7.99, I’m still torn and want it on my switch. Something is wrong with me 😂. Vampire survivor is ridiculously addictive game, very “just one more run” energy!
In my opinion colt canyon, its like if red dead redemption was realeased on atari 2600, realy good game.
I picked it up on a ridiculous sale once as I had some change... wasn't expecting it to take ovwr my life for the next month 😅
Love a driving game. I drive for my job, but it's very comforting to drive and not worry about wrecking the companies vehicle. Great stuff btw
Vampire Survivors is, with BOTW, the game I spent most of my time on the switch. I always have been reluctant to buy it on PC but the release on switch and the addition of the co-op made me pull the trigger. I have been completely addicted, playing it every second of my free-time.

My girlfriend and I have been enjoying Palia, just cozy and comfy, and for free! It's not without it's bugs, but it's got so much depth, and a really nice grid system for home building. At the low price of Free, you can't go wrong, especially if you have someone to do it with and just hang out together.
Unicorn Overlord looks really cool, I might have to pick that up instead of Triangle Strategy as my birthday present to myself! That's probably favorite of the games on this list, and one of the cooler games to have come out in the last few months.
Also, super happy to hear that Kingdom Come is on the Switch! I was obsessed with castles growing up, and had heard how good the Kingdom Come games were when they came out. I just never had a system to play them on.

The game that got me addicted was Dicey Dungeons. I picked it up in a sale on the recommendation of Alex at Switch Corner and I have put it down while I pick something else up, but I always come back to it. I've put about 65 hours into so far and it isn't done with me yet

I was hooked on skyrim for years but now that everything is said and done the only thing that keeps me coming back is the music...oh the beautiful music for me far exceeds the game itself ❤🎶
My pick is Death Squared. Just such a quirky and fun little puzzle game that challenges you, gives you some good laughs, and also makes you want to try again on levels that you fail but know you can do!
I love me some Dragon Quest Monsters, so that's def my favorite on the list! On Spring break currently and having so much farming high rank monsters, it's hard to put down :)
Vampire Survivors for my family! We’ve unlocked the OG collection (my 6 year old likes to stomp with Queen Sigma), and everything in the first two DLC. Definitely an unbelievable value per dollar!

Pennys Big Breakaway is also high on my list as well as possibly the new Princess Peach game but I'm still on the fence. I have been plugging away some hours on Hogwarts but I had to put it down for awhile its just too massive. Right now its GYLT and although its not overly difficult I enjoy its simplicity and storytelling. Happy gaming

My favourite has got to be vampire survivors so addictive and so easy to just pick up and go! But also love balatro at the minute too!
Balatro has been my addiction so good when you unlock a new joker and the risk reward of do skip the blind for what could be a powerful tag or play it safe a make money to hopefully buy a good joker from the shop
favorite game on the list would be vampire survivors for sure but im interested in that terraforming game seems kinda sweet. going to add it to my wishlist. and of course kingdom come looks so sweet i cant believe it works on the switch!
My favourite is Mudrunner : Expeditions for sure. Something about these games is so chill! And infuriating at the same time.

Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince, is one of my favorit switch games.
Unicorn Overlord is next for me to play and I know it will dominate my time.
Then again I’m addicted to video games in general. That’s why I’m watching this as I’m not playing video games.
