This is really getting ridiculous, Ruth! I went and got a Certificate For Capacity To Marry, from my local jurisdiction (US), but won’t be getting married in the Philippines until January 14th, 2024. Does this mean that I STILL need to go to Manila, to the U.S. Embassy, and get ANOTHER Legal Capacity To Marry certificate?
Yes, legal capacity must be notarized at US EMBASSY MANILA OR CEBU CONSULATE after October 31, 2023 unless there's an extension for locally notarization. The certificate to marry you got there isn't necessary.

Yeah that's how you are supposed to get married here in the Philippines. Gather first the requirements and apply for a marriage license at local civil registrar. Wait for 10 consecutive days to release your marriage license then get married anywhere you want.

@@williamwashington3256 that's good since you have a marriage license issued by the local civil registrar then you can get married anywhere as long as the officiant has license to perform a marriage. No reason it will not be recognized unless it's passed 120 days upon applying.

After I already changed our plans and paid the $300 penalty to rebook my flight 😅 Do you think the embassy will still honor my September appointment to get the certificate? I will probably have to call again. Thank you
Aw what a waste of money. But one of the commentators wrote here (his name boom boxx ) went yesterday in US EMBASSY and got his LCCM and paid $50. So you can either notarize it in USEM or in any public notary near you which is ranging $3 to $10 only.

Magpa appointment nlang po agad kayo basta may available na slot sa date na prefer nyo kasi sabi naman doon sa last na memorandum after October 31 2023 balik embassy na kukuha ng LCCM kaya wala ng update. . The only way to obtain the LCCM now ay sa embassy na mismo magpanotarize.
If I get this document notarized do I need to do anything in the Philippines before I get married? I was told the below items were the requirements but I am confused on 2 and 6. These requirements are from a document from the office of the civil city registrar in Navotas City:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Legal Capacity issued by the embassy of their respective country
3. xerox of their passport
4. If divorcee, divorce paper duly certified by the competent court
5. 2x2 Picture (1 Pc.)
6. Latest Cenomar from PSA (no more than 3 months of the date of issue)
Which of 2 and 6 applies to this video? Both? Is there something else I need to do in regards to these items? Is this outdated? Any help would be apricated.
If you're applying for a marriage license in the Philippines, yes all of that you is required. The #2 you can get it locally notarized if you applied for a married license not after 0ct. 31 2023. Beyond that, you need to go in US EMBASSY to have it notarized there. PSA Cenomar yes it's needed too to prove you never been married here in the Philippines. It's different from #2

Okay naman po dati during covid Madami nagpakasal at naapprove at sa us na Ngayon pero not sure now, saka mahirap mag apply Ng ROM after marriage para makakuha ng PSA marriage certificate kasi kelan nun yung us consulate sa San Francisco put it on hold, di Sila nagprocesa Ng ROM .Ewan if bumalik na ulit Sila ngayon to approve the report of marriage or ROM.

Sorry late reply sis. Same lng din yan sa us embassy. Need to provide Birth certificate, proof of Canadian citizenship if naturalize citizen.passport, divorce decree or annulment paper, death certificate of previous spouse if applicable and to be sure, Cenomar na din.

When you get married to a Filipina do her middle name change to her last name or does her middle name stay the same
Yes when we marry and want to use our husband's last name, , we change our middle name to our maiden name(father's last name) and our last name to our husband's last name, or we can keep our middle name the same and add our husband's last name with a hyphen on our current maiden name but only few doing it.

Just be ready and fill out the form and have it notarized only in the Philippines to any atty once you arrive because as per the memorandom, "local or Philippines notarization" only.

No po dapat on or before October 31 2023 naka apply na kayo ng marriage license otherwise sa us embassy na kayo kukuha. Yung memo kasi hanggang October 31 lng allowed na tatanggapin Ng lcr Yung locally notarize at yeah need present si fiance mo magpa notarize kasi need ng signature niya

Yes you need to go to the US embassy to obtain the lccm however you have to set up an appointment but they only have few open date available. Better book an appointment in advance. If there's no available, check everyday.

Here's what to bring of the US citizen.
Confirmation Printout
Divorce Degrees or Death Certificates that show the U.S citizen is Free to Marry
Valid U.S Passport
•Birth certificate
P$50 in cash (or Philippine Peso equivalent) or Credit Card
Sis my fiance would come to visit next month and we planned to get married as soon as he arrive here. So l wanted to work and gather all the possible requirements while waiting.. is it possible to get the Legal capacity to contract marriage myself on his behalf?
The answer is no sis but while waiting for him, you may prepare the affidavit of LCCM and fill out his information and once he arrives just notarize it with him to any public notary near you. He needs to be there as they will ask for his signature.

Yung LCR mismo kung saan kayo mag aapply Ng marriage license mag iissue ng community tax sa kanya tulad din sayo. Depende kung magkanong amount yung ideclare nya bna income.

Hello sis .pwedi mag ask kinasal kami sa manila city hall ask lang diba pagkatapos ng kasal after ko na tanggap yun MC namin from LCR.cla naba magpasa ng docs sa PSA? sabi kc pwedi ako pumunta sa main qc kaso nakabalik na ako dtu sa nueva ecija...
Sinabi ba ng lcr sis sa manila na Sila na magpapasa sa PSA. Dapat bibigyan nila kayo Ng resibo nang transmittal at magbabayad kayo sa kanila. Check mo yung lcr MC mo if may naka attach na resibo at letter na proof for transmitting it to PSA.
If wala then dalhin mo sa PSA para maparegister

If locally notarize lng at di na pupunta sa us embassy, Yan lng na form sa video ,fill apan at Yan mismo ipanotarize sa attorney pero if sa us embassy. Magdala ka pa rin Ng ganyang form at Yan ibigay sa kanila as a copy then bibigyan ka nila ng actual na notarized LCCM.

Wala Po appointment yung Canada for legal capacity or non impediment as per their website instructions. Need mo idownload yung mga forms na need sa website nila and along with other supporting documents, need mo isend sa mail through special courier na may return mail para if okay lahat ng documents ibabalik nila Yung mail with legal capacity na nanotarize na.

Wala na po extension si PSA sa locally notarize LCCM. Sa us embassy na Po kukuha ng LCCM. Magbook na Po kayo if may available na appointment sa date na gusto nyo kasi Po unahan at konti lng yung open na slot. Gagawa Po ulit ako ng video about this kaso busy pa sa exam.

Magpa appointment nlang po agad kayo basta may available na slot sa date na prefer nyo kasi sabi naman doon sa last na memorandum after October 31 2023 balik embassy na kukuha ng LCCM kaya wala ng update. . The only way to obtain the LCCM now ay sa embassy na mismo magpanotarize.

As per memorandom po " local or Philippines notarization" Yung nakalagay eh, I suggest just fill out and ready the form and have it notarize once your fiance arrives here in the Philippines to any atty.
