    Made this last night my husband was licking the pot😂. I used pumpkin seeds since I didn’t have enough of our Naija melon seeds.
    Since my hubby love greens I used a mixture of spinach and collard greens.
    Also, I opted out of Shaki but used the rib meat, stock fish and left over hard chicken 😅

    The soup looks yummy. Egusi soup sure has several methods of preparation.
    Adding the crayfish and onions first into the meat broth like you did and everything else afterwards is one I will try soon. I like adding Ugu and Uziza leaves .

    You and I know that there will be no asoebi! Right? This is my favorite channel. I love how you do it because I have a hard time doing things without understanding why and how. You are the only one who applies science to your cooking. My husband tells me cooking with science is not really cooking. Well, I know it is! He is a good cook and doesn’t complain .     Pls what's the Igbo name of this shaki? I have looked for it in the market but meat sellers dnt seem to know it

      They are all collectively called afo anu. In the East they call shaki towel. I'm sure you already know towel just that it looks different. In the East they don't wash off the dark green colour from the grass the cow ate so the towel looks very dark. In Lagos and outside Nigeria, they wash it with piping hot water to remove the dark colour so it looks like this.

    Is there a substitute that can be used if you don't have tripe/cow stomach? And also, the dried fish? I can get fresh frozen fish at walmart. We don't have dried or the cow stomach. once in a while we have chicken feet?...if that is similar due to the collagen.
