I found it so weird how the queen of hearts went from having an American accent as a teen to a British one as an adult. 😂

Edit: she wasn’t the only, but most people there including her daughter had American accents.

No, it's definitely a recon. Chad was clearly meant to be the son of the Disney Animated Version of Cinderella. They altered that just to get a Black Cinderella and Asian Prince Charming.

I personally think the conflict was resolved way too quickly. They just find the villain, stop them, and happily ever after. No plot twists or anything. The first one at least had a plot twist with Jane.

In my opinion, there probably should not have even been any time travel. sure it would have been darker with Cinderella's mom being dead, but couldn't they have just waited until nighttime to sneak into the museum and use maleficent's sceptor to stop the queen of hearts. I know red didn't know about it, but maybe uma or fairy godmother could have told her where all the magic stuff is, then they use it to stop the queen of hearts and lock her away.

@@emberystudios8406 That’s what I was thinking! Everything came too easy. The exposition during the coup made them easily figure out the problem to be solved. They easily found out who did it and what the prank is. Then when the problem solved itself they just went home! There was no true climax of the story to make things interesting.

I was hoping for a twist of Cinderella getting the book to pull the prank herself. Being a good person, the curses wouldn't affect her.. and if she pulled the prank instead, it would've been the perfect betrayal to fuel Bridget's hatred of Cinderella.
I honestly saw it going that way but no, they really wasted that plot opportunity 🥲

i think so too, because they worked on these movies together and i think a couple of other Disney things and they probly just saw each other about a lot growing up since they where both disney actors so they might have been friends. i like how they did that and didn't try to say his charater was off somewhere like the others.
they definitely were real tears. China and Cameron were in the grown ups franchise together as well as on disney on 2 different shows so they literally grew up together. you could definitely tell in that moment it wasn’t Uma who shed those tears it was naturally China

I have a theory that in the original timeline, uliana wasn't the one that pranked Bridget, it was Ella.
Because uliana wasn't gonna execute her plan anyway and what actually happened is that Ella was the one to do the prank.
And when they came back in time Chloe broke the vase in Ella's house so she got grounded and couldn't attend the Castlecoming so she didn't execute the plan.
Throughout the whole ass movie i noticed that the queen of hearts low-key blamed Cinderella plus Ella was giving Bridget quite some attitude like she's annoyed and jealous of her.
OHH THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE WITH THE VASE THING. the entire movie I thought it was Ella
I believe in this theory, it does make sense a whole lot although I had another theory where the kids just found out the code to get into the book and had open it without the booby trap and because red and Chloe set it off they couldn’t do it they were too late then again I could be wrong

I would make a small change that would make it make more sense: what if the villains trick Ella into opening the book? This would get around the curse, show how smart and cunning the villains are, and explain why the queen of hearts is so hostile to Cinderella. In her mind, her best friend betrayed her! Then when Red and Chloe go to get it, it freezes Red and Chloe needs to take the initiative showing them working together and covering for each other weaknesses.
I was waiting for this " the betrayal"plot to happen in the movie the whole time 🤣

I was 100% sure that Uliana and the gang was a red herring and that Ella would end up betraying her at castlecoming or something, so when they go back to the present after stealing the book her mom would still be evil. I was so perplexed when the movie suddenly ended there lol
Me and my friend watched this movie and Chloe’s wig change every camera flip, we counted though we probably lost track and realized that she had a wig change more than 5 times
They're just milking it at this point, the quality of the originals were unironically low, but this doesn't feel the same
Literally. I did hear that there were plans for descendants four as soon as the third one was released and it honestly would’ve been really cool to see how Mal and Ben would rule together and all that, but obviously they had to make some changes due to Cameron boy sadly passing.

@@Ebh55.they made it for money. Almost none of the original cast is in the 4th because they refused to work without Cameron Boyce. Uma’s actor was crying real tears in the scene referencing Carlos. They canceled the original descendants 4 because Boyce died from SUDEP shortly before the 3rd movie came out.

For real. I was expecting the prank to happen anyways, and the main storyline of the film is to try and write the wrongs and that kind of thing. But the fact that all they had to do was steal a cookbook to prevent everything from happening is honestly really disappointing.

But in my opinion, it would’ve been better if the movie ends with them staying in the timeline or something. I don’t think it’s the villan kids, and by how the movie was going into the beginning. When queen of hearts said not everyone is as nice as they seen or whatever, it leads me to believe it was not a vk. And that we would get to see who it is in the next movie.
Probably it's what happened before they used the clock. The queen wasn't mad at Uma. Why? Didn't her aunt make the prank? So Uma's aunt didn't make the prank, the queen was mad at Cinderella after all. They will tell us in the next movie for sure.

This is crazy how I feel like a cheap shot to make it feel emotional. I mean why not just have a video of him or something more meaningful than just a shot and China crying. When did James Hook set sail and get his hand eaten by a gator and then he just went to school. That would actually imply that Capt. There was so obviously a HUGE chunk of the movie that got cut. At the START OF THE MOVIE they were already setting up a storyline about cinderella feeling guilty about something she must’ve done to bridget, and bridget decided to take revenge on her by executing her BECAUSE WHY ELSE WOULD SHE EXECUTE HER BEST FRIEND IF SHE DID NOTHING???
Also, obviously Uliana would’ve gotten detention even if red and chloe didn’t show up, so it was so clearly meant to be revealed to be someone else doing the prank at castlecoming. This movie wasn’t supposed to end when it did. It would’ve been a lot better with an extra 30 minutes runtime omg this makes me so upset!
I think it was the right length, we just got too much exposition for the wrong plot. After ~ 20-30 minutes I was wondering when the time travel would happen and when the kids would go to school. I was expecting more emphasis the kids’ stories (like before) not so much on the parents’ stories. The point was to change the parents’ lives but the kids didn’t change at all in the process. Red sort of had one moment of doubt but she was more hurt than questioning if she’s like her mother because she already knew she’s not.
I was actually thinking this? how would uliana have opened the book if people who have bad intentions can’t open it? she would be caught and get detention so someone else would have had to do that to Bridget?
Or maybe she made someone open the book for her, someone like ella, so maybe she feels guilty because she caused the downfall? Not sure

I feel like descendants 4 would have been better if instead of Uliana being the one who pranked Bridgette, it was Ella. Because that would explain why she hates Ella so much. Also, shouldn't Red and Chloe dissappear because they destroyed the timeline that made them. ALSO, the book the villains steal is cursed, which means that they wouldn't have been able to get it either way! Plus (as he said), how come ageing made it so that Bridgette went from speaking with an American accent to speaking like a bloody east enders character.

Honestly, I'll be happy to watch Descendants 5. Only to get an explanation of what Uma meant and receive closure. Because I was really dissatisfied with the ending. I expected to see if the prank would happen when they stayed longer. Or at least be shown another scenario after they left. Just like in Best Friends Whenever, Cyd and Shelby left the future.

My main gripe was the way that young Maleficent shouldn’t have been going to school at the same time as Cinderella? Cinderella has children that are the same age as Aurora’s, meaning she is in the same age range as Aurora, which means that Maleficent would have been going to school with her as well, which doesn’t make sense if Maleficent was also old enough to curse Aurora (like she literally looks at least 25-35 in the beginning of the Sleeping Beauty movie, and that’s assuming she ages at the same rate as a human, which she probably doesn’t given that she also shows no visible signs of aging between cursing Aurora as a baby and her pricking her finger at 16) when she was a baby. Also, why was Hades in a high school at all??? He’s literally a Greek god? King of the Underworld? Auradon seems to be an equivalent to our modern world, just with magic, so shouldn’t Hades be thousands of years old??? WHY IS HE IN A HIGH SCHOOL??? Also how the hell did they get him on the aisle of the Lost? Again, literal god. Not to mention he has duties? In the Underworld?? Plus if we’re going by the Disney movies, he even more would not have been on the aisle of the Lost, because presumably his ‘crime’ is having beef with some random guy THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO?? If that’s what he was on the Isle for, you’d have to lock basically everyone in the Greek pantheon on the Isle.

Would you call the actresses behind Uma and TFG disrespectful? People grieve in different ways, some found it helpful not to do the film, and others found it helpful to do the film. Both are perfectly acceptable.
I don't find it disrespectful to put on the movie without him, I find it disrespectful to put on the movie without Jay, Evie Mal, Ben, Jane, etc etc etc. Like come on if fairy godmother and Uma where the only ones who agreed to come back why bother? In the descendant universe im guessing the ball is actually castlecoming, and i read a theory saying the magic only lasted till midnight cause the fairy godmother wasnt as good at magic as she becomes later, so her powers are limited
yeah, i really dislike how they changed the fairytales from the big life overcoming things they are to just things happening at school and how they messed all the ages up, like malifecent should not have been there because now she's the same age as sleeping beauty. and do you really think cinderellas step mother would let her go to school? if you try and ignore all that (tho it is a bit hard) it wasn't a terrible movie but still wasn't great.

Someone pointed out to me that Aladdin would’ve been too poor to go to school… and I thought, yea, in fact why are all these characters living in the same damn town?? Before the United States of Auradon was established, why would literally everybody migrate over there to live permanently? Why did Cinderella and the fairy godmother go to school together??? Nobody who worked on this movie knows the logistics of time itself apparently??? And it’s a time travel movie???

So, did 10 years go by between the last movie and the 2021 animated special Descendants: The Royal Wedding (which I still haven't seen by the way since I didn't know it existed until someone else on YT mentioned and that apparently ends with a scene that will eventually lead up to this movie), because I don't think 10 years have gone by. It would have made sense for them to say Auradon was created 21 years indicating that a year had gone by since the events of last movie and perhaps a few weeks or so after The Royal Wedding.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how this movie completely screws up the timelines. Within the first 3 movies, it is heavily implied they take place after the og Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc.). But apparently, all of the Disney characters were already going to school together, the villains who have collectively murdered thousands were just high school bullies, and Cinderella met Prince Charming at a high school dance, not a ball. Also, did anyone else wonder why the Queen of Hearts wasn't on the Isle? She was a villain, and Red is even called a VK. So why does she get to keep her kingdom and royal status while Hades, a literal god, gets imprisoned?

What you suggested makes sense, but it also shows how simple fixing this problem would be, yet they just ignore it. The Queen should be on the Isle. Meanwhile, Hades is a god and ruler of the Underworld. He has an actual duty as a king, and his absence should be a bigger deal. He isn't just some mortal villain. He is one of the most powerful and important gods in Greek mythology, so why does the Queen of Hearts get treated with more fear?

With castlecoming drawing near, Cinderella of course would be forbidden to go to the royal “ball” by her step family and would be forced to stay home even while she pled her case with how she did everything but would go to end up with nothing. And maybe Fay would’ve somehow accidentally teleported to Ella’s home when practicing her magic.
She would foresee Ella’s true feelings about how her unfairness to go to the ball and how she would never get the chance to do something like this again, she decided she help her. So with drawing up her wand she would make mistakes with making a carriage and dress which would’ve made her feel depressed seeing how she is still so terrible.
But I imagine Ella would encourage her to not give up, she knows she trying to do a miracle for her and while she can’t do much with magic, she would become Fay’s friend in the process of them making a beautiful display, with a coach, glass shoes and a stunning dress. Fay would be happy but worried about the magic lasting and suggest the idea Ella leave the ball before midnight and from there it’s history
Ella being banned from going to school after Lady Tremaine discovered Ella broke her absolute rule not to go; while Charming deeply in love with Ella (maybe unsure of her identity because of Fay’s magic) and proposes the slipper fitting to search for his true love. And upon discovering it was Ella after reaching her home the two would officially date and Ella would escape her continued torment of being a denatured servant in her own home by her step family

I highly doubt they're all catholic and Cinderellas parents had to have a godparent picked by the time they baptized her, "godmother" doesn't have to mean the exact same thing in Auredon it does in the real world. Maybe the system works different there, maybe there's no ceremony and they just came to calling her Cinderella's godmother. If you try to apply modern christian systems to Descendants next you'll be asking yourself why didn't they just try exorcising Maleficent and the other villains instead of banishing them.

The thing that I personally hate most about this part (the film, not your video.) Is that red is... Completely red... And like red red red. No darker red. No pastel. Just one red tone. Same with charming shes just the same shade of blue. The hair, the clothes. Everything. For example : Mal was purple and green and the others like ; bule and red, black n white and on.

I don’t know if respect is the right word because I wouldn’t call the actresses behind Uma and TFG disrespectful. People grieve in different ways, and I can understand how not joining the movie is helpful for some of the cast while joining the movie is helpful for some of the cast.

You forgot to mention that Chloe and Red visited Ella but "miss crystal shoes" actually makes Cinderella grounded from Castlecoming, which MIGHT caused the change in time. As we all could see, even if the villains got the book and opened it, they'd still be enchanted UNLESS using Ella to actually access the book (there are some moments confirming Cinderella actually was into the prank incident, either on purpose or coincidentally).
There's no passion going into the Descendants franchise anymore and i think they should quit while they're ahead. This didn't even feel like a Descendants movie to me.

Mal wants to fit in, and Audrey wants to stand out. It's why Audrey's hair got _more_ colorful after her "villainification" when she was fully transformed into the main villain of the movie

Something I started questioning after watching the movie is, does this…change the plot of Alice in Wonderland? Because, the ROR events happen before Alice in Wonderland, when Bridget is a teenager. But, if she doesn’t turn evil, then wouldn’t that affect the Alice in Wonderland story? Because in Alice in Wonderland, the ending is that Alice has to leave Wonderland because the queen is chasing her and wants to behead her. But, if the Queen of Hearts doesn’t turn evil, then she wouldn’t want to behead Alice and chase her out of Wonderland. So wouldn’t that change the Alice in Wonderland story? Idk, maybe I’m overthinking this

Am I the only Alice in Wonderland nerd who is mad that Alice isn't in charge of Wonderland? I mean she is the one who imagined the entire thing. FIRST they release a show that says that at eight years old, Ariel knew her tauntie Ursula and visited her with her friends for magic lessons, and that Ursula was never evil to begin with, THEN just two weeks later, they release a movie which in the first two setnences says that Ursula was a big ebad evil sea witch! So how thcan they have Alice in chrage of Wonderland when they have a show showing her great=-grandaughter hanging out with the Princess of Hearts, and descents of White Rabbit and Mad Hatter?

I gotta say this; You can't save your parents. That's a hard HARD lesson I had to learn as an adult who, as a child, felt I had to rescue my mom and dad, but _I can't save them._ It's NOT your job, *you're just a **_child,_* You are not responsible for your parents. CHILDREN ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PARENTS! _Parents are often grown adults who probably have more options than they feel they do, but get blinded by their own BS and end up taking it out on their family._ It took me becoming a grown adult to realize that the lessons they taught me about being afraid of the world and that I'd be _trapped_ if I made one mistake was BS.
The first descendants movie was honestly pretty good about being a fun children's movie showing _children recognizing and breaking the cycle of abuse,_ and not letting their parent's baggage override their existence and dictate their own lives.
Red *_saving_* her mom without her knowledge or will, erasing her formative childhood trauma to just _switch her out with a mom who never went through the 'bad thing' that 'made her bad' is just... It's gross to me and I don't like it. (I know it's kind of a cliffhanger, but still.)
A good example of a fairytale-esqu adventure where a child seeks to save and redeem their evil parent; _Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi._ He didn't drag his dad back to the lightside kicking and screaming or by tricking him. Instead, He inspired him and showed him the path back, but Anakin/Vader HAD walk down that path _himself._ HE had to actively choose to stand up to Palpatine to redeem himself. Because _children can't save adults/parents from their own choices._

they even explored this in Descendants 3 with Mal and Hades! Parents have to live with the consequences of their actions and this has an impact on their children. Hades left Maleficent when Mal was a baby and because of this Mal wanted no contact with him. Hades had to make actual efforts to prove he had changed and this allowed him to improve their relationship. If they really do want to go with this, they could go for a Brigit finds out about Red messing with the timeline and that betrayal makes her even worse than before storyline. Or they could have Red still have the characteristics she originally possessed and this causes family tension since her mum would have no idea why since they messed up the timeline. Some of the ideas are good but the way they do it sucks.
