    Hi there,
    Thank you for shearing.
    You , Sir , remind me very much my oldest son , who's red bearded as well and don't hesitate to start any project on his own.
    Well done.
    Best of luck .

    Brother, a 100$ plasma cutter is a lifesaver!!! Lol I knew after my first welding project it was a non-negotiable! Love the content BTW! Just bought a barrel sauna for 500$ that had been sitting unprotected for 2 years😭💔Really debating doing a vlog style (similar to yours) of restoring it. I've never made a TH-cam video before, but I haven't seen anyone doing a restoration video for these. I think that would be pretty cool. You've already given me 100 ideas man so thank you so much for that!!

      YO I want a plasma cutter so badly. I loved using one at work. One day...
      Thanks for the kind words! You absolutely should make a video about it. I'd definitely watch.
      500 bucks for a sauna with a heater?? Hope it isn't in too rough of a shape.

    FYI the heat level will be at the top of the stove, everything below that will be cooler. Winter will be very noticeable, I call it the Ice Shack effect (cold feet and burning face)
    My advice will be to add mechanical ventilation to keep the air inside at an equilibrium throughout the barrel.

      Definitely planning on something like that. I recently fired it up during an ice storm we had, and the benches got very warm though so it’s isn’t terrible

      Me too! Using pine really makes this affordable.

    Use soapstone to dress the sides of the stove. It should both calm the heat down in the beginning and keep heat more stable in the long run.
    Put your vent underneath the door so you're pulling air through the whole sauna into the stove. That will give you a better air exchange and a fresher environment inside the sauna.

      Thanks for the tips! I will definitely consider the soapstone.

    nice barefoot built!!! hahaha question, what paint did you used for the stove?

    • @Sparky_Mark
      @Sparky_Mark  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha thanks!!! It was a high temp paint for grills. Don't remember exactly which one though...

    Thank you for sharing, very nice and informative.
    I have almost zero experience with welding, but was thinking of repairing a damaged second hand sauna stove (small hole in the side) .
    What kind/material welding electrode and metalic plate would you recommend in such case?

    • @Sparky_Mark
      @Sparky_Mark  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you enjoyed it! I also have nearly no experience welding. This was actually my biggest project as far as welding goes.
      I have only done MIG and fluxcore wire welding. (This was flux)
      I am not sure I can recommend anything for your specific stove. Being me, I would probably just find a steel plate at a metal supply store and weld it over the small hole.
      Or if the hole is small enough, I would maybe just try to weld the hole shut using only the fluxcore wire

      Thanks for the reply! I'll try first just with flux as you advised, and add small plate if that doesn't work.
