YO! I had originally planned to upload this in January, but this took over 2 months to film :( I hope it gives you some inspo if you want to do something like this - just remember to leave room at the joints for the room to physically expand and install some sort of ventelation under the heater (I didn't show this). Seems to be keeping temp. fine and genuinely feel euphoric after 10-15 mins at 60oc :) New videos soon!

Doesn’t the wood need treating etc though? Sauna wood is often super smooth and presumably coated?
No drain ? No vent ? Thats a bit weird. You will have mold very fast

Using treated timber is a big no no. You surely would’ve clocked from the smell lol.

Trust me when I say this, you need proper ventilation inside the sauna or you'll faint. If you want to know what you have to fix, look up someone who builds a sauna in Finland on YT.
Loving the idea but not the most ideal execution. What wood did you use? Floor is just basic decking. You also need to varnish the wood otherwise it’ll start drying out and splintering.

This is so wrong in all the different ways it could be wrong. Shouldve walked through the plans before building this atrocity
You should have doubled the joists to make them 4 inch thick, then use Rock wool or similar 4 inches thick, then Vapour barrier with Foil paper.
The insulation you used wont do a lot with UK weather.
Not sure why you used plastic vapour barrier on the outside.
Pre-Treated wood is a no no its full of chemicals that will be released when it’s heated up.
It pays to do your research.
65c …! A Sauna should be 85c-100c

What size cable have you got feeding the sauna unit itself ?

Wont it be an issue that there is.. plastic on the walls ? As far as i can see you are supposed to use aluminium foil or something the like.
I would recomend doing some research before building things. With the same materials you could have build a lot better sauna. Vapor barrier was questionable and lets just not talk about the tongue and groove. You need to alternate it lol.
If that bench in sauna is so low then it's not real sauna. Heat goes up, so bench must be also high as possible to get REAL heat and not go crazy with heating it.

If you installed the timber like bricks, and not have 1 edge ground to roof, you wouldn't need the trim as you wouldn't be able to see the joints. Also your decking it upside down.
you clearly don't know how to build.... if you really wanted so badly I would recommend getting an actual builder in because what you've built is like a death trap mixed with dangerous materials put together mate

It’s all wrong. You are burning this shed faster than you think. No isolation, no ventilation (in and out), wrong wood, wrong door with no under cap, did I saw heater with no rocks ? Have you even been at sauna ?
Did u watch the first 5 minutes? Double layer of insulation.. wood and door dont matter as long as they have been treated. And well, ventilation just open the door. There are many heaters where you don't need rocks. So who is wrong sorry
@@CampbellTatham Opening the door is not a solution. There should be ventilation in and out. And it's not a sauna without a heater that has rocks for you to throw water on. Visit Finland, and you will learn. In fact, the Oceanic sauna heater model requires rocks and is supplied with peridotite rocks. Additionally, the sauna benches should be higher, and the temperature should be at least 80 degrees Celsius
@@MetaMiksuWhat you described is a non traditional sauna. A traditional sauna is dry 5-15% and between 70-90 c sometimes even higher. A wet sauna as you describe is around 30-50 c.
Actually visit Finland and you will learn. I've spent a few years there.

@@sstudholme Did you even watch the video? Not sure how shed age is even relevant. The roof was removed with his bare hands, it has mold all over and is prone the asbestos when it's abandoned. Stop bumlicking, I'm only saying it for his safety.
