I had a hell of a time with this. No matter what I did the glue would either not spread fully to the bottom or not to the top. I ensured every time the glue was in the circle at the approximate middle of the phone. I also waited up to 15 minutes for it to spread fully. (you can even see this issue being displayed in this video) I had to redo this 4 or 5 times. Ruined one of the screen protectors in the proces. Not sure if the amount of glue needs to be increased or since this is my first time using Whitestone I just didn't know how to do even though I watched 20 videos of the process. Also, I don't care what they say about it working with the fingerprint sensor. Yes it works but it works a whole lot worse. I will most likely not be using this product in the future.
That's concerning, I used the Dome for my s9+ it landed perfectly aligned on first try and didn't get a bubble for the 2yrs I had the phone. I am upgrading to the s20 and hope your kit was a fluke and it's not something to do with the s20 phone. Best of luck! and fingers crossed mine works, I already bought it :-/

@@antjel1 Hi - I have the S20 (also moved from an S9!) and installed the Dome this afternoon. It took me about 20 minutes and has turned out spot on. The glue spread evenly and I only had to do it once. I use an Otterbox Defender and there is probably a bit more of a gap around it that I would like (~1mm) but without that the installation would be more challenging. I changed from the Olixar screen protector because I don't like the clear circle they've installed to ensure the fingerprint sensor works. The dome doesn't fit quite as nicely (bit more of a gap) but overall I prefer it. So far the fingerprint sensor ok and it looks much better. I still miss the sensor on the back of the S9 which worked much more consistently. Good luck!
@@Duke1GB I will be installing this week and will reply. Funny you should mention the fingerprint sensor on back, maybe it's just me but that thing would only seem to work if the air temperature, humidity and fricken planets were aligned. I had a S6 never had a problem with the front sensor then the s9 drove me mad I gave up and went back to an old school pattern and just hoped when I need to use it for an app that required it that it was deciding to work that day...and yes I tried everything online even making 3-4 fingerprint profiles of the same finger. @@doolyd Ok Update. I put mine on today. It did take two tries. Some takeaways and observations.. 1. The first Dome glass I installed was on the s7 with the curved edges. I Think that might have made it easier. Where the s20 really doesn't have that sexy curve anymore. I may be alone but really liked the edge. 2. Pre check your surface to see how level it is. I checked mine it looked good but in reality you need it very level. Not just between the two lines but that bubble needs to be dead center especially left to right. You want the glue to not go to the sides of the phone when you first drop it. My first try it moved about 3 millimeters to the left then for some reason it was downhill from there. 3. Tilt it very slow when moving the glue to the circle. It doesn't have to fill the circle as soon as it reaches the lower edge of the circle drop that plate. 4. I notice the guide plate didn't land center when I pulled the PIN opposed to the s7 one seemed to fit the phone better. On my second try I just quickly moved the guide back to center down the phone after I pulled the PIN and that got the glue to evenly spread at about 90s 5. If you have it use a portable power block to power your uv lamp. It will give you a lot more options to find a really level work space. 6. Being this was the first time I had an issue installing I was at first pretty distressed about cleaning the glue off the phone. It actually came off pretty easy with rubbing alcohol and paper towels before prepping again. 7. I didn't attempt to reuse the same protector. My kit was a two pack and I didn't want to risk it so used the brand new one. I did save the old one and cleaned it just in case my first one cracks. So in summary I would say the s20 Ultra was a little harder to install but it did work on second try. Hope my findings helps someone else. I do really like these protectors over anything else and its only 30 min of your life to install one. The fingerprint sensor works great for me and my wife is extremely jealous of how responsive it is compared to the plastic protectors.
Pro tip - Do several fingerprints all with the same finger. Your fingerprint sensor will work as originally intended if you both make it more sensitive and do several of the same fingerprint.
I did it and just followed as she said, it came out perfectly the first time. even though I bought the kit some time ago and lost few bits. everything turned out great thanks for the instructions. Crystal clear and higher sensitivity with screen touch now.
LOL, watching this video, I now realize how much I did wrong when installing mine. I didn't realize what the guide stickers were for so I didn't protect my speaker or buttons. I also put the glob of liquid further to the bottom of the phone than instructed, so I actually had to press on the top a bit to get rid of the voids(rather than re-do like you did). Thankfully though the protector installed flawlessly for me the first time.
Mann this is hard hell to install. I tried to install these types of uv screen protectors 10 times. I cannot get one right I ruin every install. I need find someone that can do it for me. I'm over here struggling. Stupid cured screens if the screen was flat like an iPhone they wouldn't need to put glue on the screen to install. If this was iPhone screen protector I would stuck one on right on my first try and been done with it for as long as I had the phone.
This guide is awesome! managed to apply it correctly first try even with a little mishap. About the screen protector, as mentioned in the video, the only problem is the fingerprint scanner but if you reapply your fingers and press a little harder it works fine :) great video and great screen protector!
I know it's been a while since you posted this but did you register your fingerprints before installing the screen protector and register the fingerprints as another set after the installation?
I tried installing the screen protector myself and it was one of the nerve-racking situation in my life. I usually don't care that much but since this one costed me quite the amount of money for a screen protector, I wanted this installation to be perfect. At first there was a bubble that refused to go away after I let it sit for 5 minutes. Then I pressed it and wiggled the protector quite a bit in a desperate attempt to remove the bubble. Fortunately it did go away. The glue would not set before you use the UV devise, so it helped in my attempt to fix the bubble issue. Anyway, the screen looks good & clear and the fingerprint works well. I'm satisfied with the product but not with the process to install it. There are a lot of other brands out there that's cheaper than Whitestone but they don't come with installation kit as complete as this one. I cannot imagine the stress of installing this type of protector without the tray or other stuffs that came with the package.
I saw some videos regarding the installation but none after a period of time... my undestanding is it is glass, the glass of the phone can expand or retract... what will happen with the protective galss... does it will begin to crack on the edges ?
Hello! I found no issues with using the finger printer scanner post application. Though I do recommend deleting your original finger print scan prior installation and then adding your print print again when the protector is attached. I hope this has been useful :)
Is it good at playing games? mine still use the original protector from the box. But when i used to play games, some times it's not working smoothly and i have to tap or swipe it twice to follow my order.
Nice videa but i have to ask . Has it ever been proven that this or any other tempered glass screen protector will prevent damage when dropped.?. I guess this goes for the plastic ones also.
Had the Whitestone Dome glass on my Note 8. Dropped the phone face down and the screen protector shattered, underneath the screen was fine. Can't say for sure that the screen would have cracked without the protector, but I believe it would.
I've dropped my phone face down on a rock. In a panic it looked shattered. Got home and remove the glass to find my screen in perfect condition. I will not go with one.
It's simple physics. If the glass protector takes most of the force in an impact and most of the energy is dispersed when it shatters, then it's a lot more likely your screen will manage to survive.

Can Anyone confirm these DO NOT have small tiny dots along the sides and middle of the screen protector? I bought one from AMfilms and that one had them. Such a horrible idea.
I also after 3x of trying couldn't get the glue to cover the whole surface and was left with gaps at the to and bottom. Watched the video. 3x and referenced it each time I tried to install it. For a $65 screen saver that's advertised as glass I'm highly disappointed.
Save your money. The first screen I setup, was not covered adequately with the liquid. It did not reach the corner of the display. Then after two months, the screen started chipping at the edge. So I took it off and tried the other screen. Well, the white foam pads are just too think. So when you lower the screen, they get in the way. Then all off a sudden it touched the liquid. Had to take it all off and clean everything. Well, that was a total mess. You will never clean it well enough. So I tried again, and this time it worked. BUT after all that fussing, I realized I put the screen on upside down. In the garbage. Product doesn't last and too involved to install.
don't buy this. I got it and still got bubbles and dust after tyring both the glass pieces. they wanted 9.99 each way shipping for 1 for screen replacement. spent $55 on this shit thinking it will be the best, l will take my loss for another manufacturer
I had this put on at a phone shop. The fingerprint scanner wouldn't work. I removed it then and there. I even called whitestone dome and the woman told me ' yes ,it's hit and miss unfortunately ' . I would not recommend this product.
What the cured UV liquid does is eliminate the optical distortion (glass protectors which have full screen adhesive), or eliminate screen gap (protectors with adhesive around the edges). The fact that the UV liquid is clear and homogenous means that it doesn't have any optical effect and structurally enhances the glass. It's especially useful in phones with curved screens where glass protectors tend to crack easily (this has always been an issue for me), and it's also useful with phones with ultrasonic fingerprint readers (you can almost guarantee nothing else will work).
The downside here, if the glue does not run to the end and you lift the screen to try and relay it, it breaks really easily when trying to wipe the glue off!!!! I now have all the apparatus and no screen!
I don't really get how this product can get any good reviews, must be paid reviewers. The installation is a lot of steps, but not actually that hard. But the screen protector does not cover the entire screen of an S20 at all. And also it does not last longer than a few weeks untill it starts to chip and break along the edges. If it was a $20 product you'd buy a new one every few weeks but at this price are you really going to do that?
Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor has a higher fail rate due to this screen protector due to the higher thickness of glass. You’re basically adding a second layer, which decreases the success rate by at least 25% I would say. If you buy this, and use it, prepare to use the fingerprint sensor far more than you used to. It fails maybe 2-3/10. Not reliable.
The Whitestone Dome Glass was not able to protect my phone samsung galaxy s20 plus it still cracked from a 6 inch drop onto my wooden desk right at the corner of the display. And it was such a pain to apply. Case I used was UAG not sure of type but it retailed for ~$75. If anyone recommends good samsung cases they can swear by let me know please. I had my iphone 6s plus for 5 years no cracks no damage ever and it had some pretty good falls still no damage. I can't find someone that does samsung phone test drops from 50ft on youtube just for iphone and the defender case I had for my iphone was great. I love my samsung but haven't even had it a year and it couldn't withstand such a small drop... also glass on back cracked but that's UAG's fail. Man just venting hope it helps someone ;) I really tried to research to protect my phone like I did my iphone but it just seems like there's not as much extreme tests people do.
seems too risky, if something goes wrong and your fingerprint sensor to not accurately read any more then you're stuck because the glue won't come off.
Trust me, this is one of the easier ones to install because with other protectors with the pre-applied adhesive, if you don't line it up perfectly the first time, you may not get another shot.
@@TdotSoul I ended getting it . It was the best option at the time . I made a mistake of forgetting my floor is slightly dipped to one side , but I made it work n caught it just in time . Dropped the phone on the top right corner but it did its job and saved my ass

this is the most over engineered unnecessary bullshit ive ever seen in my life.. all that just to dump glue on the screen of my 1300 dollar phone? no thanks. I'll stick to the normal screen protectors. Is there a benefit of all this? Is the glass this comes with bulletproof or something?
This thing is a piece of shit. I bought one of these I also purchased the replacement just in case there was any mess-ups. I always upgrade my phone as i find some interesting new technologies. I had the S8 of cors as it released, the S10, and now the S20 ultra, really I got disappointed following Samsung, the satisfaction isn't as i expected, the battery isn't for whole day, the device get heated while charging or apps, and using the 120 refresh rate drains the battery. I didn't know the difference between snapdragon & Exynos, and in my region i get Exynos processor, thats so bad Samsung, it's like cheating... @@yohanes2034 For me the price wasn't a problem as i pre order as soon as the S20 Utra was on sale from nearest store , it's only when i went to take the phone that i asked about the price and didn' tblink, when i saw some difference in the performance of the camera, battery aren't satisfying as i expected from the advertisement, i began search in TH-cam here then i realised about the Exynos and snapdragon processors, I've check my device it is Exynos and also my previous S8, S10 that i took from the Samsung store... if you want to check your processor download CPU z
@@21polonium I was pretty upset after knowing about the benchmark results between sanpdragon and exynos. No mention of the fingerprint sensor performance. Thumbs down.👎
S20 ultra come out the box with a pre put screen protector. No need to buy one :)
don't buy this. I got it and still got bubbles and dust after tyring both the glass pieces. they wanted 9.99 each way shipping for 1 for screen replacement. spent $55 on this shit thinking it will be the best, l will take my loss for another manufacturer
Exactly. I went thru 4 or 5 on my s10 & everyone peeled up. The worst
Did you find another manufacturer for glass and no circle?
I just kept the oem one on from the factory.
It doesn’t protect the screen from sharp objects
Am film is half the price and just as good save your money and I've used Whitestone on all my phones am film glass is 30 dollars cheaper
Which one can you recommend?
@@Sabitoe amFilm Ultra Glass 100%. But that Whitestone install attempt was terrible.........
I got the amfilm in my s20 ultra , is better than whitestone and $30 dll less . 🤓👍
I had this put on at a phone shop. The fingerprint scanner wouldn't work. I removed it then and there. I even called whitestone dome and the woman told me ' yes ,it's hit and miss unfortunately ' . I would not recommend this product.
Next note20 ultra
Coming soon :D
Far too complicated, I'd rather just get a good tempered glass screen protector without an over-engineered application process.
Why doesn't the bridge just be put in a spot where it'll drop the glue where you need it in the first place.. smh..
I love your screensaver. Can you tell me how to get it? Thanks
2:33 while she has dust all over the screen, what a joke of a video
I was triggered
So much hassle to apply a stupid screen protector
Not stupid while protecting a thousand dollar plus phone.
Takes literally 5 minutes.
The downside here, if the glue does not run to the end and you lift the screen to try and relay it, it breaks really easily when trying to wipe the glue off!!!! I now have all the apparatus and no screen!
put a little more from sec bottle
I don't really get how this product can get any good reviews, must be paid reviewers. The installation is a lot of steps, but not actually that hard. But the screen protector does not cover the entire screen of an S20 at all. And also it does not last longer than a few weeks untill it starts to chip and break along the edges. If it was a $20 product you'd buy a new one every few weeks but at this price are you really going to do that?
All I see is the lint/dirt laying right beside the pile of adhesive without being removed 😬
This video would be a lot nicer if she didn't keep touching the clean screen
Thank you
Why can’t we just apply tempered glass the old way? One mistake and you’re doomed. Plus they’re hella expensive
Gosh mate why all the drama
I’m ignant
S20 ringtones?
❤
wtf ? all this for a screen protector ? i'll pass
Anyone who promotes this product is paid to do it this protector will not last and the removal even with heat scratches your screen DO NOT USE THIS
Bought one 2 dags ago for my s20 ultra.
First of all, it really is a freakin' nightmare to install.
And now, 48hrs late it has cracked in one corner, without me even dropping the phone or anything.
Stupidest 50 bucks I've ever spent on something.
My recommendationins? DO NOT BUY THIS SHIET.
One of the worst screen protector. Always peeled up. To high for the quality.
This is without a doubt the worst way to install a simple screen protector I have ever seen. Samsung is not going to guarantee this.
I voided my warranty from try to remove that crazy glue from inside my speaker.
all that lint was painful to watch
the definition of over-engineering at its finest
Whitestonedome glass is the worse I have used. Way too fragile. The edges start chipping after a few days
I got this before and fucked my screen. Never again
buy a new screen instead of this
So flat 🎉🎉🎉
What in the actual fuck
O
Hell Naw
F that
she talks too fast
This company it terrible. Do NOT give them your $$$$
this is the most over engineered unnecessary bullshit ive ever seen in my life.. all that just to dump glue on the screen of my 1300 dollar phone? no thanks. I'll stick to the normal screen protectors.
Is there a benefit of all this? Is the glass this comes with bulletproof or something?
This thing is a piece of shit. I bought one of these I also purchased the replacement just in case there was any mess-ups. I got it on my phone the very first time correctly but it turns out it was not work with one of the most popular phone cases on the market the OtterBox. So after installing it ended up peeling my screen protector off my S9 slowly but surely. Then I had to decide Either using the other $60 screen protector & go out and buy another phone case. Ya would think it would work with the most popular cases!!! if not at least you would think it would Fair warn you that it does not
This is so upsetting and overly complicated
I always upgrade my phone as i find some interesting new technologies. I had the S8 of cors as it released, the S10, and now the S20 ultra, really I got disappointed following Samsung, the satisfaction isn't as i expected, the battery isn't for whole day, the device get heated while charging or apps, and using the 120 refresh rate drains the battery.
I didn't know the difference between snapdragon & Exynos, and in my region i get Exynos processor, thats so bad Samsung, it's like cheating...
The last Samsung device i will be using is this S20, I should have waited for some more and go for the Huawei P40, very disappointing!
When I learned about snapdragon and the other one i almost returned my s20 plus until I figured out I had snapdragon, that would piss me off too and its basically a scam
@@adamclark4978
When i got to know about the difference i checked my device S20 ultra and it's sadly EXYNOS 990, I didn't check the price of the S20 ultra before pre order online from a showroom my region, its only when i went took the phone i asked the price, whatever the price would have been for the snapdragon processor i would have been much more satisfied
@@21polonium Samsung usually sell the exynos varian cheaper than the snapdragon. The price differs from country to country but the US price of 1399 UD (without tax) is more expensive than the price in my country (I don't know about yours). So whenever I feel sad about exynos being the inferior version, I try to console myself with the price difference lol.
@@yohanes2034
For me the price wasn't a problem as i pre order as soon as the S20 Utra was on sale from nearest store , it's only when i went to take the phone that i asked about the price and didn' tblink, when i saw some difference in the performance of the camera, battery aren't satisfying as i expected from the advertisement, i began search in TH-cam here then i realised about the Exynos and snapdragon processors, I've check my device it is Exynos and also my previous S8, S10 that i took from the Samsung store... if you want to check your processor download CPU z
@@21polonium I was pretty upset after knowing about the benchmark results between sanpdragon and exynos. Also I read somewhere that camera sensor in s20 and s20 plus is different beween Snapdragon and exynos varian. These things should not happen in critical releases from a flagship phone. We're buying a premium price, so we should not be getting an inferior version of the device. I think there is a petition for Samsung to stop using exynos, hopefully it reaches the higher ups and they listen (and not be so greedy).
Thank you
