    Awesome screen protector. I had a cheap plastic foil installed for 2 weeks and I couldn't get used to it. There was that "sticky" feel to it, like a rubber of some sort. I had Whitestone Dome on my previous phone, Galaxy Note 9 and you cannot go to cheap film screen protector after that. The silky smooth, glassy feeling of this tempered glass is a night and day difference. Spend the extra money and time to install a proper good screen protector guys. It only costs 30 quid on Amazon and it will protect a 1300 pounds device display for years.

    Hi! Your tutorial is so comprehensive! 👍👍👍
    Just a quick question. Is it necessary to have this type of screen protector? Or can the normal screen protecter (like for flat display) also work?
    Sorry if stupid question. This is my first time owning phone with curved display.

    • @mobilefun
      @mobilefun  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could get a flat one however the curved edges which are less durable would be exposed still.

    My personal experience with this screen protector, it lasted about a week before cracking. It was only in my pockets isolated keys and other hard objects and never dropped so not sure what happened there. Was also not very good with the fingerprint sensor even after reconfirguring it.
    Also, the cable that came with the UV fixture was also bad on my unit, so I would recommend having a spare or testing out the lights before getting started.
    Will def. be sticking with the cheapo screens

    Hi! I already mounted Dome Glass on Note10+ 2 years ago and now on S22 Ultra, and every time I have a very annoying problem: light leaks at the edge of the glass. This glowing frame, right after putting the glass on, is usually broken in some places, slightly chipped or thickened. What am I doing wrong - washing off excess glue too much before curing or what? I am asking for advice.

    • @nguyenvinhvx
      @nguyenvinhvx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Man, you're not the only one noticing this. I have mine on a Note 10 plus and now my S22 Ultra. I'm convince that it's not fitting perfectly to the curve of the screen hence the lift. I've had it on multiple time, warranty claimed multiple times and still the same issue, mine and my wife's phone. We've followed instructions to the utmost detail; but still doesn't fit right. They refuse to acknowledge the problem and tell us it's "installation error", luckily Amazon took care of us since they evidently value customer's opinion more than Whitestone.

    • @janmarkowicz4633
      @janmarkowicz4633 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nguyenvinhvx I am glad to hear that I'm not alone. But... can you point out the really good and comparable alternative to Whitestone? I even thought about switching to the foil instead of tempered glass, but for S22 Ultra it's really hard to find the one that works well with 3 things: curved screen, original Samsung etui and S-Pen! Every one that I looked at has something not-OK according to comments: etui lifts the edges, rubbery feel, impossible to put on avoiding dust or bubbles etc. etc.

    • @nguyenvinhvx
      @nguyenvinhvx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@janmarkowicz4633 I've actually resolving to using a brand called Mowei, they comes in a pack of 3 from Amazon, so good to have spare. Mowei also use adhesive/UV light method. I ended up with a few scratches on my S22 Ultra in between removing the Whitestone and waiting for the Mowei to ship home, so I have no choice but to go with an adhesive spread screen protector since it fill in those scratches as well as adhere the screen to the phone, the scratches becomes invisible after the adhesive fill them in, but I digress.
      There's just two things, things I can easily live with, there's a small circular patch at the on-screen finger print sensor area, it's not noticeable most of the time, it's only noticeable during installation and when you remove the film on it; the other is that the screen protector doesn't have a cut out for the front facing camera, so it's underneath the screen protector, if you scratch that area, then your selfies will be blurry. That's it, it's a great Whitestone alternative for me, because for the life of me I can't get the damn thing to fit properly on the S22 Ultra. I believe that Whitestone banked on the adhesive filing the gap between the curved screen and the curved protector and once cured they'll just stay in one place, but it didn't work for me, I cured it extra times on each installation and it still end up gapping upwards and just spread slowly in time.

    • @Zoroaster4
      @Zoroaster4 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know it gets so annoying. Whenever I put mine on I have to work quick cause every second it seems like another piece of dust lands on the screen. If you have a hard time seeing the dust the best way I've found is I have a really bright flashlight. I set it so the light is even with the phone. Shining across the entire screen. That seems to make it easier to see any dust. If you don't have a really bright flashlight you can use one of those desk lamps with just a normal bulb. But it has to be the kind with the movable neck so you can get it as horizontal to the phone as you can.

    DO-NOT buy these screen protectors I have had them on my s22 ultra and in both instances the screen protector was cracked from a laughable amount of force. The first one, I dropped from about 3 ft as I was sliding it into my pocket... you know a drop that wouldn't have actually cracked my normal screen. The second I just put on yesterday and literally cracked within an hour of me having it on because my water bottle fell over on the couch and rolled into my phone with minimal force and chipped the screen, I shit you not that was somehow enough force to break it. I would love to know how this protects your screen for your phone when it literally cracks from anyting, even things that wouldn't have cracked your original screen. You'll be replacing your screen protector every other day. Such a waste of 50 dollars. Also this video should REALLY MOST DEFINITELY iterate that you must have set this up on a completely level table or surface and apparently the entire house. I poured the adhesive on to my phone screen and it literally all ran off because the particular room I was setting it up and has an uneven floor. It literally ran off my screen like olive oil on a Teflon pan. Within one millisecond 90% of my adhesive was wasted.

    Awful complicated and Awful amounts of waste plastics to throw away after installation. In clear mind i would never buy that screen protector. Much more easier and cheaper and without plastic waste- are self adhesive screen protectors which our family is using for last 10 years. We can get like 2 screen protectors for 2USD if we need to. And replace them twice per year if need to.

    I can't emphasize enough.
    If you want a functional fingerprint scanner
    Don't buy this piece of 💩
    Mine worked for perhaps a week and now refuses to scan prints.

    This screen protector ruins the fingerprint scanner. It's a TH-camr trying to make money off affiliate links
