Love balsa wood. With your design you could cut it out of card stock, remove the bookmark hole as long as it can be removed then duplicate the design 4 times and then weld all four sections together glue the two open sides together and make a candle holder. You would use a battery-operated candle to fit in the center of the candle holder. Seems to me there might be a video on how to do just that here on TH-cam somewhere. Love the feather bookmark as well. It looks really cool. You did a great job of demonstrating. I think I will be making one. Thank you.

Thank you Courtney for another great show. My husband could not believe that the scanNcut could cut wood, because he is a wood worker himself.

Oh cool! I have Balsa Wood that I bought from Cricut, but then found out my Cricut Explore Air 2 cutting machine won't cut out any wood, & that I would have to buy an Cricut Maker instead..But Thankfully I don't need to upgrade because you just showed me that my ScanN'Cut SDX125 will cut it out! I am so happy I have this cutting machine!!! 😊

Ooh this is great! I wonder if having a separate blade such as the deep cut blade or just a spare blade for the auto blade holder to use for cutting balsa wood and tougher materials would be a good idea as I’m guessing it may blunt the blade faster and then your paper and card may not be cut as well. I guess it would depend on how much you are cutting out. I would love to get some of this wood and try it out 😊

I haven't bought my Scan and cut yet but I'm about to.
    2 questions:
    1. Will my pre-purchased Cricut Mats work in the machine?
    2. When doing wood, could I use the BACK side of a brother mat and tape it down?

Hi Courtney, I've been having problems cutting wood with the machine i have the sdx220D. I find it comes out rough or on the last layer cut the whole mat moves! I would appreciate if you could give advice or have more videos for wood. 😊

Hi! Love your channel and all the knowledge you share! I have 2 mm balsa wood and cannot cut it out good. Is 2 mm to thick? I use an auto blade only dedicated to this. One out of 10 times it cut my shape somewhat ok but it’s been a struggle. Any tips? Thanks once again 🤗

If you are using a CM model use the deep cut blade. You will have to use balsa wood thats thinner than 3mm. - Courtney
