Where to stay in rio de janeiro: for most of you, the south zone of Rio is the best choice. If you want to stay near beach and metro station go for Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon. If you want beach, but don't care about public transport and prefer less full of people place, the best location for you in Rio de Janeiro is Barra da Tijuca.
But be careful, don't miss understand: Barra da Tijuca is Different of Tijuca! (there is no beach in Tijuca)
All the neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro that I would choose a hotel or apartment: Leblon, Ipenama, Copacabana, Botafogo, Flamento, Glória, Catete, Barra da Tijuca, Recreio, Lapa, Center, Largo do Machado, São Conrado.

@@onlyinbrazil4736 i have no favorite p. ace i love it all...each area has it's own unique....for beach i like ipanema and leblon. I also like to eat out in lagoa area it has nice hidden places to eat very local...I'm stayin in Copa airbnb...think ill do sugar loaf tomorrow or Thursday...

For short stays, it's all about copa. Sunrises are awesome. Most happening beach.

I used to think so too, until I first stayed in Catete with views over the Guanabara Bay, Pao de Acugar and Niteroi.
So much more to see and the view is different every time. Amazing sunrises almost every day.

Good video. Where is the last name you said. Hecreau. I have been to Rio in 1985 Stayed at the Sheraton hotel. Great hotel love it. Just now too expensive for 2 weeks. Nothing has changed other than the Discoteca Help is not there anymore. You cannot be flashy. My favorite area is Gavea Beach. I am thinking of staying at the Hotel Nacional. Then I would like to see southern brasil . Go down to Florionopolis. Then go to Iguassu Falls. Was thinking of going to Recife but keep on hearing how dangerous Recife is.

I am surprised that laranjeiras didn’t make the list. It’s beautiful and reasonably located if you can live with Uber. On weekends there is a fantastic outdoor market I don’t know what it’s called but it just blew my mind they have the streets filled with these shops.

Right! Laranjeiras / Largo do Machado is also very good! I would stay too! Actually the first apartment I found to live in Rio was there, but for the same price I found one in copacabana, so I moved to copa. But definitely Laranjeiras / Largo do Machado is good!

Is copacabana good for fruitarians? are the fruits and vegetable highly available in that area?
Good fruits and vegetables are cheap and easily available everywhere in Brasil. There are some awesome juice bars in Rio. Just ask your host or hotel employee about a good "casa de sucos".
where would you recommend i stay if i was looking to stay in brazil for two weeks?
Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande and some place in Northeast if you like beach... If you like hiking and other natural thinks Bonito, Chapada dos Guimarães and also Lençóis Maranhenses are good options!

5. Então Jonas saiu da cidade, e sentou-se ao oriente dela; e ali fez para si uma barraca, e se sentou debaixo dela, à sombra, até ver o que aconteceria à cidade.
6. E fez o Senhor Deus nascer uma aboboreira, e fê-la crescer por cima de Jonas, para que lhe fizesse sombra sobre a cabeça, a fim de o livrar do seu enfado; de modo que Jonas se alegrou em extremo por causa da aboboreira.
7. Mas Deus enviou um bicho, no dia seguinte ao subir da alva, o qual feriu a aboboreira, de sorte que esta se secou.
8. E aconteceu que, aparecendo o sol, Deus mandou um vento calmoso oriental; e o sol bateu na cabeça de Jonas, de maneira que ele desmaiou, e desejou com toda a sua alma morrer, dizendo: Melhor me é morrer do que viver.
9. Então perguntou Deus a Jonas: É razoável essa tua ira por causa da aboboreira? Respondeu ele: É justo que eu me enfade a ponto de desejar a morte.
10. Disse, pois, o Senhor: Tens compaixão da aboboreira, na qual não trabalhaste, nem a fizeste crescer; que numa noite nasceu, e numa noite pereceu.
11. E não hei de eu ter compaixão da grande cidade de Nínive em que há mais de cento e vinte mil pessoas que não sabem discernir entre a sua mão direita e a esquerda, e também muito gado?

It is near for Rio parameters but you will have to take the van or a bus to arrive... it will take 40 min to go in the entrance to go up the hill... you can buy your ticket and the transportation in Copacabana!

Barra da Tijuica is the best , uber costs peanuts
I agree... but to far from downtown and other touristic spots...
Barra is very nice, but in the Zona Oeste (West) so distant from Copacabana and downtown
