Donnie Yen is one of the most skilful martial artists in the world. One of my all time favourites. But Big Mike is a stone cold killer. I have no doubt during filming he was in the zone and really landed some of those big ones. That head bobbing he did in the early part of the video, were the real deal. This scene for me is very special because we're watching 2 trained fighters, two of the very best in the world today.

I love the choreography of Tyson vs Yen. The whole fight they evolve their tactics to try and crack the other guys.Tyson tries to over power Yen. Donnie can't go fist for fist with Tyson's power so he starts low attacks and grapples. Tyson starts loosing his footing so he starts using throws. It's a wordless chess match between two masters

Donnie has been training martial arts since a young child though, obviously not a heavy weight by any means. But a capable, well rounded life long martial artist who happens to also be an actor. Same as Jackie Chan, Sammu Hung, etc all capable life long martial artists not to be under estimated by any means.
The fight with Mike is absolutely one of my favorite scenes that Donnie has ever done, and that includes that hilarious fight in Rogue One. But you have to admit...any one of those shots that he took from Mike should have ended the fight right there and then. You don't get hit by Iron Mike and just walk it off. lol
If you look up the behind the scenes on youtube, the punch where Mike Tyson hits the punching bag behind Donnie Yen sounds like a gunshot in the raw footage. They had to cut that take because Donnie Yen looked like he had a minor heart attack at the punch he was supposed to dodge for the filming. It's one thing to watch Mike Tyson fight on TV, but its probably a whole other story to have to do fight choreography with him. In another BTS interview Mike and Donnie joke over how if one of them had messed up the order of the fight choreography, one of them could've gotten severely injured. They were pretty scared of each other's capabilities lol

To see and hear the amount of respect they gave each other when working on this scene was astounding. That is actually true. The human body has a number of anatomic ''weak spots'', like the knee, eyes, throat, kidney,liver, groin, eardrums etc. When you get injured there it's basically ''game over'', no matter how big or skilled you're.
Martial arts has numerous benefits. It's not always about fight that's the reason they called it an art. Like every art not everyone can become a master in martial art. Martial art = Discipline + Focus + Nimbleness + Supple + Balance + Awareness + Attention + Concentration. It's not a sport again it's an art. Learnt by many, understood only by few.
