@@mrbizzarro his sweat and graft created a beautiful thing of treasure. Personally, had I got a shit ton of money, this is the guitar I'd buy and find someone that could do it justice , give it away and say rip it up my friend.
HA! That's a clever comment there! I mean no disrepct to Mr Page.. he is pretty darn brill... but NO ONE touches the class, spirit and the almost supernatural connection Rory Gallagher had to his muse (the blues) and his guitar. I miss him more & more with each passing year...
I love that French concert because they are playing so much songs Rory later never played live on stage. And Wilgar Campbell is still on drums. Not many live concerts on tape with him. Only that camera angle from the behind is annoying. But I am glad that recording even exists, so... whatever ;)
I saw him open, fantastic. Then came the Peter Greene version of Fleetwood Mac, and then Deep Purple. Almost a perfect evening of rock, except that Ian Gillan was obviously drunk.
I’ve watched this video many, many times but I just now noticed that Rory’s guitar strap is a bandolier. That’s funny to me since Rory was a bad ass guitarslinger like no other.
Yea, I noticed that too! His first solo album and Deuce and had some really outstanding music on them. You never heard him play these songs again. Too bad really! My favorite songs are from his first album.
Agree, his first and Deuce were his best... Followed with some good albums, but not to the same high standards. Live performances,a different matter. Consistantly epic!
If only Rory had not been so hard headed and refused to release his material as singles when he had a recording contract with the suits in the U.S.; however as the ole cliché goes: a man oughta always do what he thinks is right; there is no doubt in my mind what so ever that "For The Last Time" and "Do You Read Me" would have given him the attention and respect that he deserved had they been released as singles; I'll even place "Moonchild" in that category for Roy and he would be a household name with Rock-n-Roll and Blues fans here in on this side of the pond, which unfortunately he is not; the man should have also been inducted into the R&R hall of fame a long time ago; again, unfortunately he has not as far as I am aware. In conclusion, thanks for the upload!
Rory never sold out, he stuck up for what he believed in. He wAs never about money or giving in to the fucking suits, telling him how he should cut his music. I seriously doubt he would care about the Fucking HOF. People are discovering his music to this day, it will live on forever.
Garyl Gordon ..........the RRHOF is very probably the LAST place Rory would want to be remembered. All that commercialism he spent his short life shunning? The Blues Hall of Fame is where this man belongs and I think it's criminal he's not already there.
Garyl, Rory doesn’t need the hall of fame brother (to be surrounded with people who know little or nothing about the blues no not for our Rory)......::::blues hall of fame or nothing. Slan go foil a Rory ....::::Erin go bra
Anyone know why Rory only performed early material like this for a couple of years? After about 73 it seems like he never played anything from this album or Deuce anymore
Gotta keep up with the times I guess. He wasn't a well known rockstar with major hits so there was probably never one particular song that everyone wanted him to play
Gerry McAvoy is hands down one of the best bass players of all time
The only bad thing about this video is that it ends
נכון, פראבדה,
hell Cat The fish you are so damn wright!!!!
I'm just super grateful we have it . 💜💜
such a masterpiece.....and he was only 23❤❤❤
Please support the petition to RENAME CORK AIRPORT after RORY GALLAGHER...thank you very much!
Rest in Peace Mr. RORY GALLAGHER !!! I really enjoy his Rock/Blues songs, thay are from another world !!!
Unfortunately he was soo underrated as a guitarist,He deserved soo much more recognition.
Enough with those underrated, etc, What to you not see doesn't mean that is not exist 🪖🛴🛴🛴🐸
Gerry McAvoy is a beast on Bass. This early lineup was so tight
Saw Rory 12 times by far the best live show and guitarist of all time
Es mejor bass con el mejor guitar, cantante y letrista de toooos
Yes he was!!!
@@zugisland16 that's what Hendrix said!

Dat bass line is bumping. Such and under appreciated and underrated bassist.
CrateofStolenDirt .......Belfast mostly, Gerry, Wilgar, Lou, all Belfast boys.
64NovaSS TT .....Yes , Gerry is great
If you see me bobbin my head with my eyes closed, this song is playing..
"71 and his strat was already beat up. I was 14yo then and yet to realise how great he was.
He had extremely acidic sweat. That's essentially what pre aged it. A unique guy.
@@mrbizzarro his sweat and graft created a beautiful thing of treasure.

That must have been epic!
I love that French concert because they are playing so much songs Rory later never played live on stage. And Wilgar Campbell is still on drums. Not many live concerts on tape with him. Only that camera angle from the behind is annoying. But I am glad that recording even exists, so... whatever ;)
