The mod loader's options are so nice, I love enabling all the Dreamcast mods and then setting the AR to 4:3 and the resolution to 480p. The closest you can get to full Dreamcast accuracy without having to deal with the little annoyances real hardware can introduce.
ALSO THE CGI STYLED SONIC MOD BY XINUS22 IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IT LOOKS SOOOOO GOOD IN-GAME

I heavily Recommend using the Sonamy Momentum tweaks which improves the exeleration and Air Physics for Sonic and Amy
Good video, it is interesting to see how people set their mods up for an experience that is perfect to them, and it's great that this game actually gets some love now.
What is most interesting is the philosophical differences for the choice of mods. I just wanted to tell you what I do differently with my setup:
I was never really a big fan of the AI Upscaled Textures mod, due to reasons of it (imo) being OVERALL only a marginal improvement and at worst smear-y compared to the original textures + it takes up a few gigabytes. HOWEVER, there is one thing I do like over the original textures: The Skyboxes. Yes, because they are the largest objects with the lowest quality textures when scaled, having upscaled replacements for those is very good. So I copied the AI Upscaled Textures mod and removed all but the skybox textures from it for my own use.
As for the retranslation mod, it fell from favor with me, cause I always felt like playing the game with the English voices, yes the acting is a bit what it is, but the voices themselves I prefer. Also, I actually compared the English and Japanese dialogues side-by-side to myself, and I felt that while the Japanese version has things that are lost in translation to English, the English version I feel isn't without it's own merits, overall I just think that the Japanese dialogue is not this magical thing that makes it the only version with which one should play the game/enjoy the game's story. +Due to all the hassle associated with trying to make an imo "perfect third way" between the two versions (I tried making that mod, so far only did Sonic's story), I just reverted to the original English voices & text.
Also, although I use the HD GUI mod, I generally didn't mess with the GUI (i.e. life icons etc. specifically, in the way that you did) or muting certain sound effects at all because I wanted those to be faithful to Sonic Team's original vision. I generally made my mod list with the mindset of "what would the game be like if the Dreamcast wasn't discontinued and a DX-equivalent version of the game was released on it in 2003-ish (and then later ported well to PC with proper support for 16:9 and better textures in places)?"

i will still never gonna use retranslated not because it bad bc I really don't feel like hearing the Japanese dub when I really like the us dub but even then I just don't really feel like hearing the Japanese dub(even though ik its better its the same reason why I don't watch sonic x in the Japanese dub)because since I just gotten use to the us dub and i really don't feel like reading that many subtitles epscially if there a us dub that ain't really that bad(also this is why i hope one day there a mod or a way where you can basically have the us va with the Japanese script)
Seeing all these mods that fix SA1 and make it closer to the DC version, it makes me sad NiGHTS’ PC port never got a similar treatment.

Does the Fixes, Adds and Beta Restores mod restore unused lines only for the English dub? I can't seem to find anything of the sort for the Japanese voices in the mod's directory.
Not sure where they are in the directories, but they’re definitely in there; I play in Japanese myself, so I’ve noticed them. Not sure if there’s differences in restored lines between dubs though.
What's the order you have you mods set up on the mod manager? I'm new to modding SA1.
i have a problem with downloading the ai textures mod, i've installed both ways; the one click install and the manual install but when i try to play the game with the mod enabled an error pops up saying: DLL error - the specified module could not be found. its the same case with fixed edition too. if someone could give me some sort of installation guide or some way to get the dll file i would really appreciate it.

How did you get the HD textures not to crash? I just get an error message on startup and then the mod has no effect.

Will someone explain to me? In the Perfect Chaos Music Swap mod, I don't understand what to do with the mod.ini in the file, and where it can replace the final music in the battle with chaos. How to do it?
Simply place the file in a folder (best to use the mod name), then place the folder in the mods folder. You can then toggle the mod on in the launcher.

A key example of the English dub/script being absolutely terrible is Team Sonic Racing, like Sonic is a total asshole in that game, especially to Silver with his "trash talking." Thankfully Jun'ichi Kanemaru
is the same class act he's always been compared to Meta Era (English) Sonic. And when Big is getting a little confused about, Amy is much kinder towards him, promising to get him a cookie when it was all over. If ever a game needed a re-translated mod, its that.
All I do is
1. Plug in the controller
2. Turn on the dreamcast
3. Put the disk in
4. Play

Something really weird and funny is that in SADX, Metal Sonic’s model was made to look like Classic Metal Sonic. Where the Dreamcast model makes Metal look like his Modern incarnation. So when I use the Dreamcast characters, I turn off Dreamcast Metal Sonic because it looks more like Modern Metal Sonic to me. And vice versa for the DX models.
Edit: I changed my mind and I'm currently using DX Metal Sonic.

For amy I prefer to use the mod that give new tricks to the characters, like spin dash for tails, and hammer hover for amy

I just started trying to play SADX back on the Steam version, and wanted to see what quality of life changes i can make that were "up to date" recently (this is the best that i get) that i can do to my game version to make it more enjoyable, hope these mods still work alright for my game version, thanks dude!.

How did you change Metal Sonic’s life icon? I have a mod installed that replaces his model with Metal Sonic MKII and I was wondering how to change the icon to match
The file is Con_Regular for the Japanese HUd and Con_Regular_E for the US Hud. This includes the life icon textures.

The more recent Super Sonic mod is definitely better, but being able to fly over the snowboarding section of Sky Chase is pretty fun too.

I personally prefer to use the mod that splits Open Your Heart across both Perfect Chaos phases.
I also use that one mod that lets you use Hyper Sonic if you have all 130 emblems!
