I met Adam at an event the GA DNR held for hunters and the public in Young Harris, GA several years back; a very informative session. Prior to them making some the vitals available on the DRN site, he’s supplied me details on GA harvest data I requested. I personally have harvested several north GA Bears with both firearm & arrows, but have seen more than 70 since I moved to north GA in late 1999. GA is a great State for Bears.
This is my second year hunting north ga. For deer and bear. Learning alot the bear so far. Is there any public access to view the acorn data? And from listening to this I'm Gathering bears get to the acorns before they actually drop?

I live in oaky woods. I usually see as many bears as deer. This year I haven't seen 1 at all.
We have a boar that walks around 75 miles through hazelhurst and back every year
So is it my understanding that the reason GA does not allow baiting is because there is enough harvests occurring to maintain the population goals?
Yes. It would definitely be a blood bath if you were allowed to bait bears in Georgia!

I think OnX has a acorn producing tree layer available for paid users, it may be worth checking out.
