I got a stock 2003 lb7 with a stock Allison 1000 5 speed automatic transmission and was thinking of putting a programmer in it no more than 125 hp should I rebuild the trans or will it be fine ?
If the only modification you have is a tune, then you'll be fine. By the way, we just released a six-speed conversion for LB7's - check out the video: th-cam.com/video/2PBDeiMeNLE/w-d-xo.html
what do you guys have to say about the ZF-6 married to the duramax? do you sell clutches? recommend anything? any tips or tricks? or would you recommend to stick with the allison
Hey Nick, do you guys ever have customers from Canada? Would it work to get my transmission built by you guys or have a new one shipped out? Cant find anyone here in BC trustworthy enough for a build lol!!
I have a 2008 GMC 2500HD with a Duramax. I bought it w/147k miles and now has 200k. I use it to tow RV's mostly from Indiana to Western Washington state. It continously blows the p0087 code cutting power. I bought a computer deleter I plug into the bottom of the steering wheel area so I can delete this code and motor on. Usually happens while towing in the mountains, but not always under load, sometimes after I clear a ridge and coast down the other side. This is what I have done; replaced crushed fuel line (dealer), added an electric fuel pump, replaced the low pressure fuel senser (looks like a large bolt) and it still happens. Getting very frustrated! Any other ideas? Thanks, Randy ps I use the Hotshot brand of oil and fuel treatment (also Lucas fuel treatment), ac delco fuel filter, and 100% synthetic motor oil (currently Rotela T6 becuse it seems to last two trips vs Lucas lasting only one trip).
