I have a 2002 LB7 Duramax it’s tuned out about 80%. I love my truck. It is my favorite thing in the whole wide world .My transmission is going out what kind of upgrade transmission wise do I need to achieve 1200 horse and how much will that cost me?
Well I’m having a incorrect gear ratio 5th gear on my lly 220hp over stock pushing roughly 525hp and I’ve not ran it hard since those codes and stuff happened for just a 800hp tranny labor and all $9,500 in nc
I had message on filter cleaning on my lmm. I drove the damn thing for an hour on highway. Would not come out of cleaning mode. Ended up being the K&N filter caused the Mass airflow the misread due to the oil. Put stock GM filter back in and all was well.
@@Duramaxtunerwe do a pre-trip inspection every morning and never have had any leaks. We found a small hole where it looks like someone did a questionable weld repair prior to us owning the truck and it failed there. I initially thought head gasket so I need to check that also. All signs lead to 💰
Just deleted my 05 lly it ran great no check engine light then I started going down the highway and got into higher boost and it sounded like air was escaping from somewhere didn’t and the check engine light for low performance supercharger not sure if it’s the up pipe or a boost leak
@@Duramaxtuner replaced alternator. Both batteries dead, decided to remove them to charge them separately. Long story short. Small side terminals looked clean, no corrosion visible. BUT.. removing the small terminals both positive terminals were full of corrosion. Lots of soda an water toothbrush an pocket knife. Fully charged cleaned replaced. All is good. Transmission is good. Also windows power up fast, air conditioning fan blowing better. Those small side terminals are sleepers. I highly recommend checking yours. You cannot see the corrosion externally. Could probably saved myself 200 bucks if would have cleaned batteries posts a year ago. Thanks for reply hope this helps someone.
05 LLY. P07300 and P0735. Tow haul on pulling camper up hill 3/4 throttle. Tunes were on towing. and It slammed it into 4th gear. What should I do to prevent?
Another cause for silent limp mode: Your coolant reservoir cap. If your cooling system loses pressure, the first thing to overheat, and rapidly so, will be your fuel. It's why these powertrains come with fuel coolers. Above a certain threshold, your HPFP's performance will be limited/throttled and your truck will limp. The simplest things can be the biggest cause of headaches.
It is not just diesel powered trucks that have limp mode also gasoline powered automobiles have a limp mode if certain problems occur. It is not fun to suddenly go into limp mode and have very little power.
My 2009 6.6 LMM Has gone into limp mode Only on start up, Twice sense ive owned it, both on very cold days -25c or worse. 1 time the error code read Service Exhaust System, i cant remember the other error message, but both messages went away on their own & i took it to the dealer to get proper service done

My lb7 will go into limp mode, I lose reverse and get stuck in 3rd tell I pull over and cycle the key. The only thing that comes on is the service engine soon light, I have never seen the check engine light. I have tried to still scan it and there’s no codes. ?!?!

Nick Help I'm in Pennsylvania so you're to far to bring the truck. 2002 Duramax Allison trans. Just had a reman trans put in last fall got the truck back ran great the day after I got it back it threw a code for torque converter solenoid. Took it back to the shop they had it a week got it back didn't notice cause was being super cautious but then noticed it seems like it stats out in 2nd or 3rd gear. no code though. Do you have any clue that may help.
5:40 ... how did you know me so well? I have PPEI tunes, jumped to the 60+ after running the 30+ for a week or so. Driving up a paved hill, tow/haul on, traction control off, felt sluggish so I throttled down to get up and over the hill. 0:19 is exactly how I felt! P0733 - incorrect 3rd gear ratio. Scared the shit out of me. Thought I fucked up the trans. My take, too much torque being sent, trans tried to down shift & missed or popped out so save itself. At least I hope. Now I'm scared to get on the throttle while it's approaching 2-3 3-4 & 4-3 shifts... damn that expensive trans tune file.
So how has it been I got my set at 5 220hp time yes I know stick trans pay to play but it’s never done that got a incorrect 5th gear ratio. I have a stock 07 LBZ, 118,000 miles threw P0713 and P0708 deleted the codes and now P0708 keeps coming back, only when moving the gear selector into gear, CEL comes on, and light under the selected gear disappears as well as shifts sloppy through PRND and locks into 3rd gear I believe. When the code is deleted it runs fine, the internal wiring harness was changed 3,000 miles ago due to a similar problem when fluid was leaking into the plug. I use this truck daily for my business towing trailers, I’m concerned it’s going to strand me if I don’t get this figured out.

Hey how are you? I have mine allison 1000 going in to limp mode. I can get any codes is a motor home I have try a 9 pin diesel scanner but it show just engine Codes. The trans was showing a ⚙🌡 light on the dash right when you turn the key on. Some sites said the pressure manifold should be defective. I had put on new manifold, internal harness, filters and mobile delvac. And it came back after 10 mins drive. Do I need to clear codes on the tcm after the manifold get replaced? How can I do that is there is no connection between 9pin j1939 connector and the trans? Thanks for your feedback. Trans have just 32000 miles. Engine show just 1100 hours .
My lb7 won’t shut off with key when I shit the key off everything stays on and it throws a bunch of codes has a glow plug modgel code and that’s it and the box isn’t hot

GM wont be helpful on that. They offer a CP4 replacement for CP4 failures. There are 2 aftermarket options. The CP3 from SS Fuel and the 10mm Cp4 from Exergy are the only real options out there.
Usually u cycle the ecm by turn key on and off three times. After a day or two the check engine should go away or if u have a monitor like a cts and delete the codes

So I have an 05 lly equipped with the zf6 trans. It acts like it goes into limp mode while pulling mountains. Doesn’t show any codes at this time. But it’s like a daily thing, truck gets a little Smokey and seems like the throttle doesn’t respond when I push it to the floor. Truck had the codes P0101 and P0299 so I cleaned MAF sensor and rese the codes. Still having the same issue. Truck is stock including stock catalytic converter and muffler and EGR valve. Once I peak the mountain it takes off like a raped ape again but still Smokey till I let off throttle. Anybody able to help me?

My truck just went into limp mode. EFI LIVE tune 4, 80hp tune. It locked itself into 4th gear and of course the check engine light came on. I pulled over and cut the truck off and put it in lvl 3 (60hp tune) and it drives fine and shifts fine but my check engine light is still on. How ccan I get the engine light to go off?
I've had trans fluid a leak for a while out of the bellhousing. I forgot to check the level over the past week. Now it got so low im in limp mode. I pulled over and put fluid in but still stuck in limp mode. Tried cycling the ignition, cycling the gears with the truck off. Its stuck in limp mode. I have efi live flashscan v2 but haven't really used it yet. I haven't got around to egr delete yet - thats why I got it. And, I don't really know how to use it. But could I reset it through efi?
N Perry all map sensor outputs are usually calibrated between 1.2v to 4.9v with max output of 5v, if the ecu sees 5v it will know either the sensor is failing or the pressure is out of calibrated range and will throw a code
Good morning I have a 2009 duramax 6.6 l recently blew a head gasket we replaced the hair gasket put all GM parts We're visually done 1 side 1st and I noticed that we did the one side my truck wasn't the way doing black smoke a lot And then I realized the other side was leaking just as well so we replaced the other side wow when you replace the 1st site I had some power but not as much then when I replace the 2nd site I have no power a no power I put no Turbo it's terrible before just because the trouble will feel like a little warm I just replaced Then what happened and between opening the cabinet everything back together one of my guys have Have put the back cross pipe on the back of the bellhousing that got some water jacket and started leaking water is licking water so we had to replace that seal in the misery place in my seal data removed the battery cable and didand the nation was on and made a big spark look like it was a positive cable connected to negative it's a negative we are realized what happened I took everything off Pull the battery cables Off the battery turn the key off and connect it to ground backup I don't know if I run the PCM I don't know if I ruined the Glow plug Module But I have started getting a lot of Coat it was given me injector It give me number 7 number 2 number 5 number 6 I replaced number 7 which was leaking a lot I replaced number 2 After that all the Code Went away then number 2 came back leaking I replaced number 2 still leaking I replaced number 2 again still leaking I noticed number 3 on injector Also Is very low on the volts I've been on this truck for a month trying to figure it out and I've been going back-and-forth somebody told me it could be the Oxygen sensor I replaced the Mass air flow sensor I replace all the block logs And also the truck goes into limp mode and my temperature gauge sometimes goes up sometimes goes down don't work all the time like this shit Right now I have a code of P02A1 Also P0087 Also P0118 I reprogram all the Injectors because when the guy was helping me he did not number him so I had to re enter all the injectors into the computer which I did with the Tech 2 Can someone give me some ideals I'm bought ready to buy the TCM I don't know if I should buy the TCM or buy the injector controller

I have a c5500 I did a egr delete no tuned I have a limp mode codes air mass flow sensor. I have a scanner I deleted and keep driving but is annoying any ideas what to do?
Will I be able to read codes even though I don’t have a check engine? My 2003 duramax doesn’t have any power! If I hit the pedal, it revs high and starts to slow down like crazy. I have to lay off and slowly keep pushing the pedal so it tries to hit 60 mph.
It’s a little off topic but if it’ll save somebody from pulling their hair out like I did I’ll gladly take whatever chastising I have coming. My 2004 Duramax LLY started going into derate very sporadically. The only power enhancement it has is a Banks Ram air intake. Ultimately however,it ended being one of the two batteries being junk. I replaced them when I had to jump start the truck everyday. That was 3 years ago and it hasn’t derated once. Prior to that I had scanned it for codes and everything was pointing towards a pressure control solenoid fault so I decided to replace the batteries and then tackle the Transmission issues but after replacing my batteries the check engine light went away, the codes went away and I haven’t had a problem since. I later spoke with a GM dealer tech and he said that one bad cell in a battery can cause the entire electrical system to do some weird things. Which I was partially aware of but I never would’ve guessed it would affect the transmission system but it can and will he said. Those junk batteries weren’t more than six months old but they were cheap John Deere batteries So despite still having a warranty on them, I said to hell with that and replaced them with NAPA batteries and they’ve been great.
i have the same experience with my 2009 6.6L i recently tuned it and whenever i floor it 100% the truck goes into limp mode check engine lights comes on and it tells me to change the fuel filter. when scanning the codes they are related to 1. low fuel rail pressure 2.throttle body sensor. i am wondering what are the ways to fix this issue because in long term it can cause more problems. any suggestion is appreciated. thanks
@@Duramaxtuner so your saying to change it with an aftermarket one or buy new stock ones? i am thinking the new tune is running higher fuel pressure and the stock fuel pressure relief valve is not made for that and thats why i am getting the error low fuel rail pressure error.

HI Nick, getting codes p1723 and p1721 on a 2001 Sierra 2500hd. Engine light is currently on but the previous guy put too short of a filler neck on it and it has no gas cap. The truck stays in 3rd gear but there is no rpm limit. It shifts through 1st and 2nd fine. The truck does have some kind of programmer with 10 siding and a dial turn but I just picked this up so don’t have much info on it. Do you have any ideas of where to start ?
05 lly 420k miles new motor 100k miles ago egr delete full intake with mouthpiece and full exhoist stock tune pulling a po700 and po776 code it did it anothet time and said speed sensor I'm confused truck dont slip jerk nothing o that nature guessing trans is jus on its last leg?
Sounds like a trans build is in your future. Cruising on the highway generally does not cause a P0700. However in the city going from light to light, that is when we see more problems.
Yes it dose it will read all d.t.c for 1996 and newer with obd2 port and it will let you run data logging as well you do need a windows based software to be able to send the log to someone or to read it hope this helps good luck
P2004 code 2006 GMC/ISUZU 6500 Kodiak heavy duty I changed my muffler to aftermarket Then the problem happened I changed my map sensor still nothing It drives fine until I go uphill than it drives slow After the hill drives perfect Check engine light is on And reduced engine light also

You'll definitely need a beefy torque converter. We have the DT 1000 for 1000 HP + trucks and it comes with a Goerend triple disc torque converter.

If your truck is stuck in 1st gear and the gauge cluster isn’t working, check fuze ing 0 in the interior fuze box
Mine went into limp mode and I have no codes. The next morning we had a serious transmission puddle under the truck.

2001 , alternator failed, drove 75 miles volt meter reached zero. Engine still running but Transmission not engaging fully. Hope this is a limp mode !
It does not sound like it. Sounds, and could be wrong here, like an electrical issue.

Sounds like you need to upgrade to a built transmission.

Sounds like clutches slipping, you may need a more advanced scan tool to see TCM codes.

Deleted truck running 30hp tune., new fuel filters, will not rev over 2500 rpm. Kicker is no check engine light. Any ideas?

@cubpak89 Could be another solenoid giving you issues.
No codes ever in my Kodiac, every time it goes to 2800 RPM in full boost it hits limp and smoke out exhaust. What ya think?

That would need to be diagnosed in a shop.

p0700 codes are typically transmission codes. Take it into a shop!

You likely need a scanner that can communicate with the TCM to properly diagnose your issue.

GM wont be helpful on that. They offer a CP4 replacement for CP4 failures. There are 2 aftermarket options. The CP3 from SS Fuel and the 10mm Cp4 from Exergy are the only real options out there.
Any trick to get the check engine light off
Usually u cycle the ecm by turn key on and off three times. After a day or two the check engine should go away or if u have a monitor like a cts and delete the codes

Hey man I have a 2008 3500 6.6 duramax I am in limp mode , I ran the diagnostic and I have the turbo booster and fuel pressure regulator is a code popping up , what do you think is going on ? Trouble codes are p0090 and p0047
So I have an 05 lly equipped with the zf6 trans. It acts like it goes into limp mode while pulling mountains. Doesn’t show any codes at this time. But it’s like a daily thing, truck gets a little Smokey and seems like the throttle doesn’t respond when I push it to the floor. Truck had the codes P0101 and P0299 so I cleaned MAF sensor and rese the codes. Still having the same issue. Truck is stock including stock catalytic converter and muffler and EGR valve. Once I peak the mountain it takes off like a raped ape again but still Smokey till I let off throttle. Anybody able to help me?

My truck just went into limp mode. EFI LIVE tune 4, 80hp tune. It locked itself into 4th gear and of course the check engine light came on. I pulled over and cut the truck off and put it in lvl 3 (60hp tune) and it drives fine and shifts fine but my check engine light is still on. How ccan I get the engine light to go off?

I've had trans fluid a leak for a while out of the bellhousing. I forgot to check the level over the past week. Now it got so low im in limp mode. I pulled over and put fluid in but still stuck in limp mode. Tried cycling the ignition, cycling the gears with the truck off. Its stuck in limp mode. I have efi live flashscan v2 but haven't really used it yet. I haven't got around to egr delete yet - thats why I got it. And, I don't really know how to use it. But could I reset it through efi?

You probably need to start with a manual regen.

N Perry all map sensor outputs are usually calibrated between 1.2v to 4.9v with max output of 5v, if the ecu sees 5v it will know either the sensor is failing or the pressure is out of calibrated range and will throw a code

Good morning I have a 2009 duramax 6.6 l recently blew a head gasket we replaced the hair gasket put all GM parts We're visually done 1 side 1st and I noticed that we did the one side my truck wasn't the way doing black smoke a lot And then I realized the other side was leaking just as well so we replaced the other side wow when you replace the 1st site I had some power but not as much then when I replace the 2nd site I have no power a no power I put no Turbo it's terrible before just because the trouble will feel like a little warm I just replaced Then what happened and between opening the cabinet everything back together one of my guys have Have put the back cross pipe on the back of the bellhousing that got some water jacket and started leaking water is licking water so we had to replace that seal in the misery place in my seal data removed the battery cable and didand the nation was on and made a big spark look like it was a positive cable connected to negative it's a negative we are realized what happened I took everything off Pull the battery cables Off the battery turn the key off and connect it to ground backup I don't know if I run the PCM I don't know if I ruined the Glow plug Module But I have started getting a lot of Coat it was given me injector It give me number 7 number 2 number 5 number 6 I replaced number 7 which was leaking a lot I replaced number 2 After that all the Code Went away then number 2 came back leaking I replaced number 2 still leaking I replaced number 2 again still leaking I noticed number 3 on injector Also Is very low on the volts I've been on this truck for a month trying to figure it out and I've been going back-and-forth somebody told me it could be the Oxygen sensor I replaced the Mass air flow sensor I replace all the block logs And also the truck goes into limp mode and my temperature gauge sometimes goes up sometimes goes down don't work all the time like this shit Right now I have a code of P02A1 Also P0087 Also P0118 I reprogram all the Injectors because when the guy was helping me he did not number him so I had to re enter all the injectors into the computer which I did with the Tech 2 Can someone give me some ideals I'm bought ready to buy the TCM I don't know if I should buy the TCM or buy the injector controller
Mine showed fpr i replaced it and still in limpmode ended up being a ground wire for the fpr 800$ for a wire smh

A TCM tune wont make your transmission able to handle more power. It will make a built trans shift better.

My 2003 duramax doesn’t have any power! If I hit the pedal, it revs high and starts to slow down like crazy.
I have to lay off and slowly keep pushing the pedal so it tries to hit 60 mph.

It’s a little off topic but if it’ll save somebody from pulling their hair out like I did I’ll gladly take whatever chastising I have coming. My 2004 Duramax LLY started going into derate very sporadically. The only power enhancement it has is a Banks Ram air intake. Ultimately however,it ended being one of the two batteries being junk. I replaced them when I had to jump start the truck everyday. That was 3 years ago and it hasn’t derated once. Prior to that I had scanned it for codes and everything was pointing towards a pressure control solenoid fault so I decided to replace the batteries and then tackle the Transmission issues but after replacing my batteries the check engine light went away, the codes went away and I haven’t had a problem since. I later spoke with a GM dealer tech and he said that one bad cell in a battery can cause the entire electrical system to do some weird things. Which I was partially aware of but I never would’ve guessed it would affect the transmission system but it can and will he said. Those junk batteries weren’t more than six months old but they were cheap John Deere batteries So despite still having a warranty on them, I said to hell with that and replaced them with NAPA batteries and they’ve been great.

i have the same experience with my 2009 6.6L i recently tuned it and whenever i floor it 100% the truck goes into limp mode check engine lights comes on and it tells me to change the fuel filter. when scanning the codes they are related to 1. low fuel rail pressure 2.throttle body sensor. i am wondering what are the ways to fix this issue because in long term it can cause more problems.
any suggestion is appreciated.

Start with a Fuel Pressure Relief valve.

i am thinking the new tune is running higher fuel pressure and the stock fuel pressure relief valve is not made for that and thats why i am getting the error low fuel rail pressure error.

HI Nick, getting codes p1723 and p1721 on a 2001 Sierra 2500hd. Engine light is currently on but the previous guy put too short of a filler neck on it and it has no gas cap. The truck stays in 3rd gear but there is no rpm limit. It shifts through 1st and 2nd fine. The truck does have some kind of programmer with 10 siding and a dial turn but I just picked this up so don’t have much info on it. Do you have any ideas of where to start ?
Both are transmission codes, have you data logged the truck?

I have a 2005 duramax 4x4 LLY with a P0700 duramax {transmission control system..
Sounds like a trans build is in your future. Cruising on the highway generally does not cause a P0700. However in the city going from light to light, that is when we see more problems.

Hey nick I have a question about the edge cts monitor, does it read trouble codes?
Yes it dose it will read all d.t.c for 1996 and newer with obd2 port and it will let you run data logging as well you do need a windows based software to be able to send the log to someone or to read it hope this helps good luck
