I have 3 indoor only cats. Mine are on a monthly prevention for fleas and worms. Anyone that thinks if their cat is indoor only wont get worms or fleas you're wrong. When you come in your home things catch a ride on your clothes and shoes. If you have a dog they can bring things inside also. If you open your windows fleas can come inside. The only 100% way to make sure your cat wont get worms and fleas is to have them on prevention.
My cat skipped _all_ those warning signs, and I just found a 2 ft tape worm dangling out of his butt one day 🤮😂 (He's fine now, btw. It happened about a month after I first got him. Took him to the vet and they put him on some deworming meds for a couple of weeks)
😷😷they can go to a human’s brain and cause all kind of weird symptoms etc. according to all the videos etc. How do they get this 🤢 and do get dogs this too?
I just took in a stray 8-10 week old stray kitten 8 days ago she was super skinny when she first showed up and ive noticed just a couple days ago her belly is getting rounder im taking her to the vet as soon as i get paid and getting her shots dewormed and hopefully getter her spayed
That first orange and white cat lying there showing his belly looks so much like my cat and the way he lays with his legs splayed…I tried to get the vet to check his poop last time I was there, and she said they didn’t need to check it. She did what I believe was an unnecessary surgery to remove a mass that was just fat. She didn’t even send it for a biopsy. I am never going back there again! After seeing that cat like that, I am taking some poop to a new vet I am hearing about. He now has little fat lumps near the cruel looking incision that drove us both nuts. I am rambling when I haven’t even watched this whole video. Egad.
Hi Dr. Sarah, are you able to do video cureness for feline corona virus and giardiasis, coz my cat tested positive and current he's physically weak, hope you casn share more knowledge how can we treat them at home😢
Their breath oder will change. If the cat is predisposed to dry skin, the coat will loose it's shine. If your cats are very communicative, they'll be vocally cranky as they are upset that you haven't figured out their issue yet.
My vets never recommend stool tests, even for one cat who had a huge hard belly. Maybe because they’re indoor only - this wasn’t addressed in the video.
Even indoor only cats can get worms. They can still get fleas also. When you come in from outside you carry things in with you on your shoes, and on your clothes. Cats eat spiders and other bugs and can get things from them also. It's always best to deworm your cat regularly. I deworm my cats 3xs a year or at least every 6 months. Mine are indoor only, and are also on selehold for fleas.
My cat is on a PMR diet but not wild meat. Mostly chicken, turkey & rabbit. Would a checkup for worms be even more important? Also, can humans get worms in their system from cats?
Hard to check for my kitty's poop coz she always poopping outside as a feral cat. But she puke once in a while and i do think that it might be due to eating some grass.
I have two ten month feral cats who are little chunky monkeys- I have no way of finding out if their chunkiness is related to worms. I can’t take them to a vet as vets won’t service ferals. What do you suggest?
Yes. It's best to have them on a preventative.. When you come into your home you can carry things inside. Insects, and mice can and will find a way inside, and your cat will kill and possibly eat them. If you have open windows there's a chance your cat could get fleas from a animal outside, or fleas and ticks outside blown in. Years ago I lived in a apartment. I had 1 indoor only cat. She wasn't on anything because I figured she's indoor only... I was so wrong. She ended up with fleas and tape worms from the fleas. My vet said only way to make sure they don't get them is monthly prevention. Ever since then my cats are always on flea and worm prevention. Heartguard for cats is what mine take for worms. And then a topical flea medicine catego.
My cat is my only one, inside. I’m afraid if I bring him to a vet they will try to give him a rabies shot. I don’t mind getting him another FVRCP but no way will he get the FELV either.
@ewokjerky4508 Thanks for your reply 😊. It's actually for my kitten that I adopted who has Giardia. I am unsuccessful with the liquid form and was hoping there would be a pill form. 💊
@@saradeluca4966our kitten has that too! We treated her with Pancur & metronidazole. Following treatment she has tested negative twice but still has soft stool. Best regards to you & your kitten.

@ I’ll ask the vet about worms, but maybe there’s a low risk here. There are no fleas where we live, due to low humidity.
Hollowed-out turds, that’s what I encounter from my male bengal to a moderate degree .. he’s lost quite a bit of body mass

Can you make a video about what ragdoll cats are please
Indoor cats?
Indoor only cats can get worms still.

Put in some food grade diatomaceous earth into the food that you give them. It's a natural dewormer. Google info about this and dosaging.
I knew they had worms because they pass me worms... anti-vorms-Drugs for everyones! 😅
Can a single indoor cat get worms (eating only canned and dry food)?

If it goes outside - it has worms.
Nope. Mine thrives in my cattified yard. Regular vet visits and proper meds and diet and boundaries and monitoring and training and cleaning. 💚🖤

Why? Just curious
🙏
Get cat checked at least once a year and pray
Hi. You mentioned that you would tell us how to treat them, and you did not.
Food grade diatomaceous earth, or kyolic garlic drops will do it. Don’t get the toxic garbage the vets want to sell you.
Drontal is your friend. Watch videos on the art of pilling your cat

Call your vet, make an appointment. That was her advice
