I am writing from my sons account. I am also from South Goa. I had exactly the same childhood as you have shown in this vlog. Going for long walks with my mom. Sitting in front of the house on the steps and having tea and the same breakfast that you have shown and the beautiful kitchen with a fireplace. The wonderful food. Thank you for taking me back to my childhood memories which is a really long time back. Wonderful vlog👍

Hi Magali. I just recently found your channel while looking for Portuguese Goan Documentaries! Village life in Goa seems very relaxed! Also, the church you showed looks exactly like the ones in Portugal ... same with the cemetery structure and colors, very very Portuguese! The restaurant you went to ... serves Caldo Verde!! I'm happy to see that the Portuguese culture is still alive in Goa somehow, being a Portuguese myself I'm always looking for a bit of my country somewhere else as I live abroad.

you appear soo sympathetic and i got so emotional when i saw your village cause it reminded me of the village of my appa( he is from nothern part of sri lanka) its also green&lush , and so close to nature😊 My last visit to Sri Lanka is nearly 16 years back🙈 i want to visit it again after seeing this video😊 and i also need to pay Goa a visit 😍

Awesome !!!! ... aint from Goa, ...but this video was simply awesome.... , i remember going to Goa around 1982/83 as a Kid with my folks and family friends...and this is how it was back in the day (referring to the North ) .
Sadly...thanx to a few Dance Music festivals...it put Goa on the map for all the wrong reasons.( My perspective based on my personal experiences and facts) The upside is...that the Locals made a lot of money and continue to do so , However this drastic change simply shatters me .
Im Glad the south stayed preserved for a longer period of time. Although i fear this video puts the last of what Goa has on the Map.
A big thumbs up to this simple vid... very expressive... I could almost smell the wood fire.. the house...the surroundings ...nature .. , Brought back memories of good simple goan food.
Hoping our government and people learn to preserve heritage, culture and traditions .... all over India.. and boost tourism the right way.
    Thanx for sharing ....great Vid.
Some more , Urak.. choriso and Poee please ;) !

This is such an immersive experience. I loved this vlog as much as part 1. It feels more personal while part 1 set the scene. I wish we'd seen more of the inside of your ancestral home; the traditional kitchen and cooking techniques were captivating. The drone shots are C R I S P, such a treat to the eyes! Goa is so green, so much untouched nature. I hope it stays that way. Does anyone live in the ancestral home when you're away? Thanks for this series, Magali :) You've set the bar really high!

Gosh, this is so beautiful. i remember you saying not to expect much from this video, but I have to say this video is as beautiful as the first one. I loved going through the markets and seeing it with your eyes, loved the gorgeous feline buddies you keep making friends with, the chit chat and everything around. Something about your Goa vlogs...they are magical!

  • @sarahp1383
    @sarahp1383 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Very nice video. Far from the touristy attractions. The slow walk down small country lanes. Eating smoke infused food cooked on dried coconut husks. Small restaurants serving delicious traditional Goan fare,: a wayside store selling plump sausages...the outing rounded off with kokum soda, a refreshing tangy , sweet and sour fizzy drink?
But what I truly very much look forward to, in your future videos, are the interiors of those sprawling Portuguese houses , painted attractively in vibrant yellows and brilliant blues, with their high ceilings and big, wide arched windows , with billowing lacy curtains.
Please don't forget to give us more of the true Goa, as only a true Goan can.
    Thank you.

I liked your vlog very much. You live in a beautiful, rural setting. It must be wonderful. I would like to know what were those fifteen bird and animal sounds you hear in the early morning. My place in Madras is very hot and dry. I hear the koels at 3.45 am, the rooster at around 4.45 am and around 5.00 am, the robin magpie joins the chorus. You must be having a lot of birds. Let me know their names if you can.

Looks like it! I had never seen Trikal but just checked it out. It was filmed in my village, in Mario Miranda's home & the Loutolim church. I didn't know the cemetery was featured (this is Ambora cemetery) but after watching the movie it does look like the same one. If you would like to see the exterior of the church featured in that movie prominently, it's in the latter part of this vlog th-cam.com/video/jYQp0yUtbIM/w-d-xo.html
I didn't enter the church so I don't have interiors shots.
