Goa is a magnet for soul seaechers. The last 4 months, I have made 2 trips from Kuala Lumpur to Goa via Mumbai. Been contemplating to move to Goa and now this video is nothing less but feels like a calling ❤

This is what Goa is all about. If you decide to move to Goa, be ready to live the Goan life. Don’t come here to impose your change on Goa & it’s people. We’ll welcome you but we’ll also hate you if you do not blend in with us Goans & try to change our naturally beautiful state.

agreed. I can understand where you are coming from. at the same time the Goans should also not think that tourists come to goa with truck load of money. if that was the case they would go abroad. I am a local of Panjim, didn't have my vehicle one day due to service issues. I asked the autorickshaw at 18th June road to take me to Miramar circle. the chap says Rs.150. its barely 4 KM. He thought I am tourist. when I spoke in konkani he just asked me go away.. I agree with you 100% that tourists have to behave and respect Goan people and culture, at the same time Goans should be respectful of the locals and the tourists. Atleast start going by the meter and not extort money from locals as well as tourists. You give respect you shall receive multifold respect.

i am in Goa from last 8 year ... n that too in South Goa.....people in north India think its a place of fun parties n booz .. totaly westernized culture ... but for me Goa is to be BACK TO BASIC, substantial living, take oneday at a time, no judgmental creepy folk, live as u want , traditional food & celebration, honest & direct residence....
And plz when u come here enjoy Goa as it is don't try to change it or buy it .... let Goa be for Goans , let them & their land alone ...for god sake

If everyone starts thinking like you, then our places become more livable, loveable. This is what our Indian philosophy is: Jeeyo aur Jeene do...We all should start moving back to our ancient values. Long lasting bliss is more important than a momentary enjoyment.

I completely agree with you. I came here in June. I was so sceptical when my train was passing through the forest in Dudhsagar. A part of me was so happy seeing all the lush greenery around me but somewhat in my mind I was thinking, am I going to live in this jungle?! How would I cope?! And then it started raining for a month, sans cesse. I have never seen continuous rain for a month or two back in my homeland. One night, while I was walking down a lane like you showed at the end of the video, it started raining suddenly. No one was around, no car was moving, not a single house that I can see right there. I felt like crying. It scared the dump out of me. But, I fell in love with Goa. Don't feel like going back home let alone anywhere else on earth, maybe...!

People asked us too.. paagal hei kya .. q Jaa rahe ho Goa... Bachon ko naya language seekhna padega... U can't survive there after living in cities for more than 25 yrs... It's only a vacation spot.. jaao, party Karo, enjoy Karo and wapas aao.. living cost bahut high hei.. opportunities nahi hei itna.. survive nahi kar paaoge...
But now we r here with our kids.. and we decided to be here forever... Kids r learning the local language ( which we thought it's a must and it's the respect we can give to the society which is giving you a lot).. and yes, the bus journey, ferry, walking to ferry..our small bike rides.. our weekends on beach ( not in shack.. just beach).. and after 25 years we are not using wall mounted filters for drinking water not the RO water cans.. peaceful... 😇😇😇😇😇

Goa is a good place to live..but the sad reality is that there is enough poverty in Goa..a lot of disguised unemployment amongst locals ...i don't know the context or area of your work but not a very competitive market..I have seen jobs paying half or quater of amount they pay in metros in goa..for a short stint it's good for a change but expecting good career growth at 26 years of age, working here is challenging..and don't get me started on the sense of insecurity(mostly status qouism) of certain section of population here..

Living in Goa since feb 23. Goa seriously needs development. Goans only know about Goa or Portugal (maybe more about Portugal). Extremely poor healthcare facilities, transportation system, regionalism and dangerously rash driving and before someone (as usual) says it is because of outsiders, NO it is because of Goans.

Let goans decide what they need or want. It’s their home. We are paying guests here. Yes this is our adopted home… but I believe can’t have blanket view about goa or Goans after living for 6 months or a year. That is coming from our own biases.

Bro then I ll suggest u go to where u had come from
We goans don't need any development at all
Because goa is a very literally a very small state so small ki a subdivision of any district in other states are also bigger than Goa
And this small place that goa has goans want it to be covered by nature n lush green forest we don't wanna compromise on that n go on making developments n soon convert it into places like Delhi
1st of all goa is such a small place ki it can't handle so much of population
D development and facilities we have were enough for d population of goans we had then
But the migration in goa is happening at d rate of ×1000 n definitely d infrastructure we have is not to handle these many ppl
N d things that hit badly is ppl don't come here to adore this place but they come here to have economical and financial benefits and opportunity which they'll get here n may be not in their state
That's wt is increasing d demands for infrastructural needs and side effects of which are payed off by goasn my sacrificing on numerous things like our beautiful lush green lands which are converted into residential habitats to accommodate more n more ppl
Guys common there is something called carrying capacity of nature this little state of Goa can't handle on this big population
It was enough for population of ppl who were living here with their unique culture for decades
N just remember ki this land Is just compromising on itself to give shelter to more n more even after having done with d carrying capacity it had

      Bro
D person said this in frustration
Cause wt ever u talked about was absolutely correct
But now ppl will have to agree with this fact n will have to understand ki goa is so small yaaar it can't accommodate these big population
Agar ye Hota gaya to it won't take much time to convert this greenery that u all admired Into some metro cities
That's wt goans are sad for n worried about
      So pls understand
If u have genuine enough reasons to come here n settle here in goa then goans will invite u with open arms
Believe me goans are 1 of d simplest n kind hearted ppl u ll ever see in d entire India
They r really jolly ppl with still that innocent minds but these days ppl are taking advantage of this nature of goans too😔
N d nature of goans is not competitive That's y we r called sushegat goans
N some how it just runs in each goan individual as inherited from Portuguese invasion
So that's y some or d other where few Goans specially our rural ppl are suffering at this pt
It's like in d area of tortoise if u introduce a fast grazing animals like deers
Then tortoise species may get endangered right?

Things not to do in Goa:
    1. Don't disrespect Native Goans.
    2. Don't try to modify culture of Goa.
    3. Don't buy lands in Goa. Just tour and leave. Goa is a Tourist place. And Native goans are in short of resources.
