  • Want to see a real village in Cambodia? Let's travel to Cambodian countryside about 1.5hr away from Siem Reap! No tourists, just locals. We'll crash a night party, ride motorbikes, cook Cambodian food and have fun with locals!

This is good to see. I visited Cambodia in 2005 and even then, decades after the Khmer Rouge, the scars from those times were still visible after all those decades. It's good seeing Cambodia living in happier times.

@@RussianPlus I appreciate your work. It is entertaining but requires me to think about quality of life of all those people you shared with us. Yes. Harmony can be allusive. I have tried to minimize my possessions to what I feel that I need. You would be surprised how much I didn’t need. I am working for a simpler/efficient life. I spent a lifetime working for things. That are no longer important to me.

What a beautiful document about country life in Cambodia! Thanks very much. Reminds me to my childhood when chicks ran everywhere und the cows were chased on the village roads. But that was almost 70 years back in Germany. We travel to Cambodia (again) in about 3 months and really look forward. We either rent a tuk tuk driver or a little scooter and will definitely visit the countryside. Although Siem Reap is a beautiful little town with lovely people too.....

Maybe poor but people have plenty food to eat, party at their leisure, the stability of a county in peace, and actually have time to be happy in a slower pace of life. I last lived in Cambodia a decade ago, and the villages I visited had many people upgrading their stilt houses for brick structures, drainage system, clean water connections, and electricity. I saw much more beggars in the capital city than I did in the villages.

Great video! I've lived in Siem Reap for almost 20 years now. Although all seems happy and better now, many of these farmers and landlords are heavily in debt with loans they took pre pandemic to build houses, buy cars or land. Sadly due to covid many are now struggling to pay back the banks and drink too much. Thankfully the Cambodian people (Khmers) are strong and hardworking. With more tourists returning and the economy growing, we hope the future will be good for all. Btw the scars on people's bodies are not from family abuse but scars left behind from medical vaccinations. Unlike the west they vaccinate near the stomach and not on the shoulders.

I'm an 82 year old former US Marine who spent some years in that area during unhappy war times. Your a brave man Slava. I have traveled in Southeast Asia since 1996. A few rules to keep you healthy. 1- don't use ice ..... you have no idea what water was used to make it. You can get sick real quick. 2- Don't eat salads or raw things, even in 5 star hotels they can make you so sick. Keep doing what your doing and you will see what I mean. 3 - drink alcoholic drinks like beer when possible .... alcohol kills bacteria. Take from a person who was careful but had several bad things happen.

It is true that the water they use to make ice is not properly filtered or proper treatment. It’s a strong possibility that you will get sick. The salad and vegetable will not make sick but when they’re being washed with untreated water, they can cause sickness as well. Food poisonings are very common for western travelers because their home country,s water system is very high quality. However, if you have been living in a third world for a while, your immune system will adjust and you can pretty eat what locals eat. Enjoy your travel.
