Great, I have a 2003 Jetta 1.8T triptronic transmission, in 2014 the trans started having delay with the reverse, so I took it to a trans Shop, they removed inspected and found no wear 89000 miles on the trans, they went ahead and rebuilt it , but after a while of driving it would stall or neutralize, the opened trans two more tires, the tech gave up and took it to a VW DEALER they told him these transmissions were disposable and I parked the car, two months ago I heard on the solenoids so I replaced them all but after a while off driving it still Stalls or go to neutral, help thanks 🙏

Good afternoon buddy. I'm not sure if you, or anyone else for that matter will see this. But I just bought my son a 2008 vw jetta. It's an automatic. I bought it knowing the transmission had an issue. However after trailering the car home and unloading it, I decided to take it for a drive around my block and to my surprise it shifted fine! Took it around 2 more times and then on my way back home it kicked, and then seem to be stuck in I'm guessing maybe 3rd gear? Turn it off and back on and it drives fine enough to get it back home easily.
Would you have ANY ideas what my issue may be? Kinda breaks my heart my son is out there cleaning and polishing a car he can't drive yet. But one way or another he will soon.
Hope whoever reads this has a blessed day. And thanks in advance for any advise.

working fine then acting up hot is a common valve body issue on the 09G trans. The fact that it "stuck in gear" then "drove fine" after turning it off then back on simply means there is a trouble code. VB is expensive but cheaper than a trans. Since it works ok cold it may be worth trying VB, but if the rest of the trans is not ok then you might be flushing money down the toilet.

Thats about as far as I felt comfortable going into it. Curious about how much would you typically charge someone for a rebuild? I found a used one for $600 that was tested, drained, and checked for contaminants. And comes with a 6 month warranty and 60 day money back guarantee. Does that seem like a decent deal?

I have a 2003 VW jetta, that has the 09A, when we got the car it would not shift out of 1st. We replaced the fluid a few times, then replaced all the solenoids and the inner wire harness that comes in a kit.
