This is a masterpiece. Love it. Yes not an allround fragrance and rather for special occasions. Also Vetiver from Guerlain is wonderful. This is Class. Guerlain anytime over the overly expensive Tom Fords and Creeds.

Hi Ash. Thirty years ago, when I was in my late thirties I suffered a head injury which severed the olfactory nerve. Unable to smell new fragrances I relied on the fragrances I knew and remembered from my youth such as Tabac, Kouros and Old Spice. So, you cannot imagine how welcome your reviews of mens fragrances are to me.
I spent the first year or so after the injury being a trifle paranoid about my personal hygiene, as you can imagine, but with the help of others and sheer habit I regained some of my confidence. After an earlier video of yours I bought Floris, which was met with resounding approval by all. I will watch your channel for other inspirational fragrances that may come from you. Thanks again Ash. You're a real trooper.

Fav perfume of all time. And I wore this during my 20s no issue. That one and Heritage are the masterpieces of Guerlain's men collection.

Guerlain “Heritage” EDT was my daily go to fragrance when working. An old money subtle classic which gleaned many favourable comments. I always have a quick shot at Duty Free as a reminder but it is expensive, I will have a look on e bay now I’ve seen your bargain.
In retirement my go to daily fragrances are now Polo Green (on your wish list I see) and Mont Blanc Legend.
Keep up the good work Ash.

I'm a huge fan of Guerlain's classics. Actually my favourite from them is Shalimar, but it's too feminine for wearing, so I bought it for all women in my family 😂 Habit Rouge is basically a masculine version of Shalimar, so I enjoy it a lot.
Honestly saying, I think, Guerlain Vetiver could be more close to you, it's more outdoorsy and unapologetically masculine. And I strongly recommend you Lalique Pour Homme, which is superbly elegant, beastly strong and very affordable in the same time.
P.S. Eau de Toilette is much more citrusy in the opening.
P.P.S. Sir Sean Connery and Sir Roger Moore were Guerlain wearers. They both wore Jicky (which is officially a female fragrance), and Sir Sean also loved Habit Rouge.

Hi I’ve been using this fragrance for years, and you’re right this is over looked by most men. Lasts all day with just a few sprays. Wonderful. When runs out try Vetiver from Guerlain, simply wonderful and masculine. Great video.

Perfect timing. I haven't worn mine in months and have suddenly started to gravitate to it these days!
Btw, I am 28 and have been wearing it since I was 26 and love it! But I definitely like complex elegant fragrances.
I suggest you try Boucheron Jaipur EDP since you like this one! It has a similar powdery vanillic profile, but that one adds cinnamon and verbena to it making it soapy and unique. And it is really affordable!

Shalimar was the first Oriental. The structure of Habit Rouge came from it (and Jicky) and is the first amber masculine fragrance. Jean-Paul Guerlain wore it exclusively.

Guerlain Habit Rouge is a beautiful fragrance. Modern sensibilities would classify it as unisex, similar to it's inspiration Guerlain Shalimar. Tom Ford Noir (note: not Noir Extreme) is obviously inspired by Habit Rouge and is an excellent wear as well though perhaps redundant for some.

I was on a business trip in paris in February 2019. first time in paris I wanted to have a perfume bought in Paris. So went to guerlain flagship store and seller started to present the latest iteration of habit rouge - dress code. And... just like you say I wasnt sure I like it, but it spoke to me. there was a aura of quiet quality around it. But just like you say, it wasnt macho, uplifting, sharp (like, le malle, or invictus..). I passed it, and went to buy present for wife. But I returned, and bought it. It's one of the favourites now. Remindes me of Paris and rain. I realized dress code is discontinued now, and I bought the regular habit rouge last year. Compared to dress code I would say the regular is freshener, lighter, sort of day-night variant.
Oh and btw I just adore polo green, wife doesnt like it but that perfume is how I imagined myself when I was kid.

I’ve discovered Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede and B683 recently. The most luxurious unisex scent I’ve encountered in my life (57) . Not cheap but fairly rare, so makes it fairly exclusive, chances are at an event you’ll be the only one wearing it! I like that. I get lots of compliments when wearing them, instead of the usual CK scents that very one else is wearing. Hope this doesn’t make me a narcissist😵‍💫

Hi Ash, compliments on another excellent video. However, if I may just correct your pronunciation of 'habit': there are two points to bear in mind - (a) in French, the 'h' preceding a vowel is always silent; and (b) the final consonant of a word is likewise silent, unless it is succeeded by a vowel. Thus, the correct pronunciation of 'habit' is (more or less) 'abee'

Growing up in the late '70s my mother sold Avon and as a boy, I wore Wild Country, then as a teen started wearing Black Suede from Avon. Growing older started wearing Polo (Green), then Polo Sport. When i met my wife, Drakkar Noir, which she absolutely loves, when I wear it others state, "The 90s called and they want their cologne back"😂 I currently enjoy wearing more body sprays, like Bourbon or Atlantic by Bed, Bath and Beyond. Not loaded with $$ nowadays.😅

Video 3 on my catch up....
    Fragrances...
Not my bag (as stated a number of times)
I may invest some birthday money in one in a couple of weeks. I seldom find myself in situations that require wearing of a fragrance, so the likelihood is it any I buy would languish in the cupboard for eternity, unused.
Never say never though. As you suggested recently Ash, it may be time to "dip my toe" into the world of men's fragrances.

The name indicates what this is supposed to make you feel like - a member of the aristocracy climbing into his Bentley, off to the family estate for a weekend of fox hunting. Guerlain combined a number of elements of classic perfumery to produce an absolute masterpiece. I owned several bottles of this in my youth. And yes, it’s unisex. My cousin Liz, who worked as a photographer’s model, used to wear it.
Keith Richards once stated that back in the day he used to get irritated that the groupies used to flock around the various Micks and ignore him - until he started dousing himself with Habit Rouge, and the problem was solved. So - any younger gents who are reading this and looking for a certified panty-dropper, look no further. The Midnight Rambler knows!
