Totally agree. Many rest-homes also still use pagers, cos it is a "Closed system" - you don't rely on some big expensive cellphone network to do the messaging. True, text messaging is VERY reliable now, but I remember when it wasn't and you'd get "Message failed" kind of response texts, cos the network was too busy to send your text. The cellphone tech is much better now, so that is pretty much unheard of now, but pagers are still in use, and I still supply new ones to a few rest-homes and farms etc.
Camcorders are still relatively common and I still have a few camcorders. Especially I'm in the belief having all your eggs in one basket for technology is a bad thing. Sometimes it's a good thing to have separate devices for separate purposes. Also no mention of how camcorders evolved from using mini-DV and Video8 to using SD cards.
I remember just about all of the things in this video. I still have a number of items mentioned in this video. One thing left out was the corded telephone landline phone. As for skate boards, they were around in the early 1960s. Using them was called sidewalk surfing.

Exactly, plastic ones made their way in the late '80s.
Some of this stuff from the 90's was beyond me and I never got into it. I still have landline telephones (NO cellphones--ever); manual and an electronic typewriter; VCR players and dozens of tapes; and old skates from the 1970's (pre-rollerblades). I'm enjoying living in a bygone era, I guess!
I still have, use and constantly buy DVD movies. I play them in my house and on my computer anytime I want. I also rewatch these movies every few years so I can refresh my memory.
One neat aspect of the disposable camera is that it has what is known as a Xenon Flash many film digital cameras have them as well. The Xenon Flash I find to be way more useful especially in the backlit situation than the LED on my phone. Another thing people probably don't realize about the disposable camera is it is what is known as a fixed focus camera so there is a limit to how close you can get to your subject. Usually about five feet or greater you're okay
I remember actually trying to skateboard with a portable cd player. didn't go so well, the ipod mini was like the craziest experience ever after all those years you could be as rough as you wanted and get no skips.
@@killaseason82 Doctors still use them too because of their reliability in critical situations, especially in areas with poor cell phone reception within hospitals, and their ability to send urgent messages quickly to large groups of staff, even during power outages, making them a dependable communication tool in emergencies

I genuinely feel bad that kids today won't ever experience how much fun it was going to Blockbuster Video on a Friday/Saturday night to pick a movie. It was great growing up in the 90s. Watching computer technology grow has been the highlight.
Said by a person who wants you buy the latest iphone, stream the latest album, or buy the latest PC. If you still have those yesteryears devices n they’re still functional use them if you want because as long as they function, they’re not useless!!!!
As for the other stuff I have less to say about; (Part 1) Pagers are still used by doctors. Thus doesn't fit your description of "completely" useless. It's a good thing most people these days will never have to grow up listening to dial-up connecting. At this point, only about 2% of the American population regularly rely on dial-up. CD players obviously varied in terms of thickness and heft. Especially as you have footage of one of those Discman. Also don't act like streaming doesn't have its downsides or inconveniences. I actually learned how to develop photos in one of my high school classes. Though I'm still more used to editing digital photos from a DSLR or Mirrorless. It used to to be common place for people to walk around with Walkmans. The only real issue with them is that they didn't play that nice with pockets. Either way, that all changed with iPod. No doubt it's impressive SoniCare have become less bulky. I have a more modern version. Fun fact, did you know one of the earliest appearances of the electric toothbrush actually showed up at Disneyland during the 1960s? Typewriters have been around far longer than the 1990s. They also aren't useless as some government agencies still want them. I had a Furby when I was younger. Eventually I had no longer liked them. It isn't all rainbows and sunshine with Inkjet printers despite being less noisy and being faster. Also, you didn't mention the newer Inktank printer technology. (more in reply comment)
(Part 2) Window unit air conditioners don't fit the video criteria as there are still many older buildings that don't have centralized air conditioning. While I don't have a keychain organizer, I do have key rings for my different keys. Sorry, but no with having every key become digital. I'd much rather not have an electric reliant key for my home. Metal lunchboxes existed before the 90s and could actually be used as weapons. Cereal box toys came to an end due to health concerns from parents. Snake the game isn't forgotten. There's even a Super Mario 64 ROM hack based on Snake (Snakio 64). I did in fact have rollerblades when I was young. I still like them better than regular roller skates. Streaming isn't what spelled the end of VHS. It was DVD and partly Laserdisc. Though I do have fond memories of VHS. I remember those Polaroid cameras. I took a couple of pictures on one for fun. The fact they printed out their own pictures seemed magical at the time. Of course I now prefer being able to edit the pictures and then print them out. I used to have a large collection of plush toys. Still like to get the occasional new one; like an otter plush. Don't remember how many of my old plush were actually Beanie Babies.
(Last Part) Palm Pilot wasn't the only tablet around this time. There too was the Apple Newton and was nowhere near as successful as the Amazon Kindle family, iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Lettuce still can come on bags. Though yeah it's better to make your own salad. The Nintendo GameCube actually uses a format similar to miniDisc. The upside was the generally small loading times. The downside was there not being a whole lot of room for data. Explains why Skies of Arcadia Legends had inferior music compared to the original Dreamcast release.
Cool, we still live in the 90s as window A/C is still a thing here, but it's built in the wall, not through a window Also, almost all soda cans use the pull tap 😅
No doubt that the digital pet craze has mostly died off. Yu-Gi-Oh season 0 actually was made when that trend was still relevant. Fun fact, Digimon was originally going to be an adaption of Tamagotchis; especially as in Digimon World 1 there was a major focus on looking after your Digimon. These days, Digimon is more focused on RPGs without that ole element.
The Game Boy Pocket ditched the lime green screen and was less chunky than the original model. Which was a major influence on the final model of the original Game Boy line; Game Boy Color. Which isn't that much thicker than the Pocket. Ironically, mobile gaming quality is way worse than what the Game Boy, DS, 3DS, and PlayStation handheld lines offered. In this case, the replacement *isn't* better. Especially when you compared Pokemon Go to the pre Gen-8 titles.
