That one brought back some memories. Used to live up that way and the descent by the river after the Walna Scar road was a regular. Haven't ridden in about ten years but I've got a Canyon coming in a few weeks and I'm itching to get out......the wait for the new bike is killing me!!
@@stephenbrown5844 unfortunately not....the delivery kept getting knocked back by a month. After three months and still no firm date I cancelled and got myself a Giant Trance X. Loving it!! 👌
Great video Andy and what a loop; there were a few bits that I haven't done, that I will definitely be sniffing out now. We have always started from Torver and finished with Walna Scar Pass but as that is sanitised beyond belief nowadays and most definitely NOT worth the effort of the climb, I have been pondering what alternatives are available, and I think you've just shown me them 👍
@@ashleyscarth8363 It's not that bad, as long as you keep your speed up (I was going quite slow on Christian's bike because of the snow and wind). There's one massive drainage ditch which is nasty - you need to basically do a massive bunny hop and hope for the best - but the rest is just rough. I still reckon that the bridleway from Grisedale Tarn down to Patterdale is the best bridleway I've ridden. Sticks is ok but you lose a lot of height descending Raise, which isn't the best. There is another (cheeky) option that cuts off Sticks which is fantastic, but I couldn't possibly comment on that 😂

I'm wanting to do a good 15 mile loop in the North Yorkshire Area this Friday for my birthday, wondering if there's anything you would recommend, as your deffo in the know! Seems we are doing more lakes routes this year so far, certainly opened my eyes up to the terrain for riding. Scary quite often with Jason leading the blind 🤣 Great video 👍🏼
@@TrailFinder put it this way currently out only choice of venue to ride is the lakes 👍🏼 I love it, much prefer the big adventure style rides currently than messing around on off piste trails in some woods. Trail Finder general, great ride and views, some sketchy sections on this one, never heard as many F-bombs from you before 😉. Audio was bang on and captured those rocks and fist sized boulders superbly.
definately a full face and protection route if you`re a solo rider. some of the climbs are an e-bikers dream. going up to do skiddaw route nx week. looking forward to that one. i`ll have to do this too whilst i got week off.
