If The government really wanted to help the homeless problem they would build condos and sell them at cost at a minimum wage income. Treat it like a regular loan but without any interest. Keeping it as far way from the idea of government housing and Free, people never respect Free. And the working people shouldn't be picking up the bill on other people. Also if people actually buy, and pay for something they will have pride and self-worth about themselves.
@jesusorozco3788 I think that's a different problem. This will mostly help the people who want to help themselves. However usually when people feel like they have opinions that are attainable, they tend to change their life choices. The idea that with a few life choices you can own your own home. I think that will be a good motivator. They can learn to dream again and have goals. All things most drug-addicted people don't have.
shelters ARE open, but these people DONT want shelters cuz have to be in by certain times & then CANT drink or drugs, I talked with many, they need to GET A JOB like the rest of us instead of drugs & alcohol
@jesusorozco3788 they have to hit bottom before want to give up drugs, most are soulless portals already anyway & most DONT want help, theylike way they live, party, party
She didn't know how to handle the situation - I wonder what she would have done if it were her family/friends? No way to take care of homeless people - or people in need.
There is so much wrong in this crazy world! Every person deserves a safe, comfortable place to call home! My heart goes out to all ❤who experience being homeless.
right now financial incentive is low to build enough houses for people cause then more can be charged per house. I think you are looking at the wrong things here. also all they said is that no one should have to live without a home. That does not equate to the entire housing market ceasing to exist. @@barrettl2473
This is disgusting... how is this legal? Our states are push people around and give no one anywhere to go. Then you turn around and tow people without giving them a place to go. this makes me so sad. this is a real issue too, because most Americans can't even afford rent at $35 an hour with kids and a family. Rent cost an arm and a leg and its making it so that more families are being kicked to the streets
@@kommisar. Agreed. There's unskilled jobs in the upper Midwest that start at over $20/hr and the cost of living is a lot lower than California. You do, however, have to pass a drug test to get hired.
@@bigvito9008 The problem here isn't that these people can't afford rent; the problem is they are a mess and can't function like a normal, productive person. It's why when you DO give them a free place to live, they always wind up trashing it.
There's a difference in becoming homeless and STAYING homeless. 99% of these bums are permanently homeless, and all due to reasons that are their own fault.
If they wanted to get rid of them, especially the tented ones, they could just walk by with a drug sniffing dog twice a day and confiscate their illegal drugs. Soon they would disappear.
I want them to go be bums somewhere else. I worked hard for my place, pay taxes on it, and I don't want druggies hanging around stealing my property and s***ing on my lawn.
Criminalization of homelessness must stopped, but is next to impossible to achieved when people are conditioned since childhood to see homeless people as "vile" and "wicked"
@@susanbrown2909Absolutely !! Mayor Karen Bass supposedly is creating programs to get people housed in affordable apartments. She and City Hall must be forced to create the housing- with the BILLIONS of dollars the state and the feds gave THEM, without any audits or outside oversight !! Average citizens need to understand what is really going on. Most people don't know that the average rents, like a one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles County is $2,000 an month. Something to consider. See for yourselves the corruption in and of, the Homeless Industrial Complex !! 70 million dollars can create housing, instead of wasting taxpayer money on these Fascistic sweeps. I'm glad that Mark is exposing these atrocious incidents. Investment in affordable housing,is investment in society and the common good. The blight of homelessness, which is both a quality of life, and economic issue. Regular apartments stopped getting built by 1980, and the focus switched to commercial structures and luxury apartments/ condos. Also, a lot of the housing stock that existed was demolished. Meanwhile, the Pop has been growing, without competent plans to house all the new people arriving/ born, as in 1980, the population was 216 million. Now it's 340 million, nationally. But housing hasn't been built to keep up with growth of the population for 42 years. So Nat, there's very high rents, because of supply not meeting demand ! This situation is GREAT for real estate companies, investors and politicians, but it's HELL for everyone else who isn't wealthy. One way to help people currently homeless,is to attend City Council meetings, and demand that leaders in these meetings permit and create affordable housing, for seniors, disabled people, veterans and working class would- be renters, who are trapped in homelessness as a result of this permanent housing shortage ! If all the homeowners and business owners will do this ONE THING, we can turn this humanitarian crisis around. Ending homelessness is everyone's business ! And it's important to understand that there ARE different types of homeless citizens, mentally ill people, and predatory homeless people with criminal records, must be placed in different categories. They can't pay rent and utilities no matter how cheap, as they can't take care of themselves properly. But, everyone else, like seniors, disabled people, for example, are just like housed people. And simply can't afford market rate apartments !! I tell the police this fact all the time,if I encounter them confronting a homeless person. They make such good money, that they don't have empathy for people who can't afford to rent ! They don't even know what a average rents go for, because they're homeowners themselves. Few people can afford a place that costs $2,000 a month,if they have Social Security. This is why we need a massive building campaign throughout the country, and Los Angeles is a good place to start ! Anyone who has the time, please attend City Council meetings whenever possible, and tell them what I told you. City Councils can secretly block affordable housing, using loopholes, like withholding approval letters, which prevents developers from creating affordable housing. And there's many unused buildings sitting empty for years, that can be made into affordable housing. I want to also let people know, about this radio show that really encourages haters and persecution of homeless citizens, it's called " The John and Ken Show, on KFI 640 AM. On from 1pm to 4 pm. They are dead set against housing as a solution, and advocate for driving homeless people out of state, and into concentration camps ! They are very funny, and popular guys. They gave guests on the show almost daily, who share this philosophy, like former Sheriff Villanueva. He's running for office now, to replace clueless Janice Hahn as Supervisor. Both the hard Right and the hard Left exploit homeless people for their own benefit. If you Google profiting off the homeless, you'll see how shelters and agencies cash in on keeping people homeless indefinitely. Six- figure salaries for the executives of these organizations, like LAHSA, for example. L.A.Family Housing, Union Station,of Pasadena and Ascensia of Glendale. They all do it ! 2,000 homeless people are found dead in Los Angeles County alone ! And those bodies are just the ones discovered. What about those in the foothills, and desert ? Riverbank and washes? Stereotypes fuel hatred of homeless citizens, and believe me, it's open season on ALL homeless people !💀⚰️🇺🇲
That is true I have seen lawyers ,doctors, professors homeless through no cause of their own many people out there just feel on hard times and can't get a break alot because of this stuff going find them a place they can go and stay till they are helped to get out of the situation they are in .
This is an ancient problem. Even the Bible has documented how those who are evil and rich and evil and atheist and hypocritical religious treat poor and homeless people worse than dirt. The thing is it will backfire on those evil people.
Thank you Mark for standing up to these people and standing up for the marginalized and speaking THE TRUTH even at risk to yourself. You are a personal hero of mine and you have inspired i and the church I go to to do homeless outreach, food pantries etc . We need more people like you, thank you for having integrity and being a good, decent person in a world where it’s all too easy to turn away and pretend we don’t see. ❤
Good morning,Autumn ! There's are very effective way your church can help homeless people- by attending City Council meetings in whatever city you live in, and advocating for affordable housing being created and promoting housing by those leaders who run that city. Because of stereotypes, they actually believe that homeless people don't deserve apartments they can afford, even non- criminals, like disabled people, veterans, seniors, who are the fastest growing demographic for becoming homeless,by the way ! The more church members who can go to these meetings, and be advocates, the better !
@@JulieSevelson-nb9nj thank you very much for this suggestion, I will add it to our minutes for our next meeting and we will discuss ways to take advantage of it as a resource to help even more people more effectively. I appreciate your input.
Thank you for speaking the truth. There are NO services offered. Supposed "services" are just "virtue signaling" and those working for organizations supposedly helping go home at the end of the day while those "swept" are now worse off, in many cases with personal belongings GONE into the trash (medicines, IDs, special momentos, etc). Pets thrown into overfilled shelters. Free towing? Sure they will offer a tow ... to the dump. It's beyond words and so disheartening.
I'm homeless, but not jobless ! I live in my car ! 59 years of age , 14 year Army veteran (2 combat tours ) and know how to adapt and overcome challenges and obstacles ! Most chronic " homeless people " are addicted to bad habits, that consequently put them in dire straits!
As a formerly homeless person,a senior I've seen both substance abusers, and non- users, who can't afford to rent. We DO have a permanent housing shortage in America. More housing must be built. Anyway old enough to remember when there were no homeless people, almost ?? I do. It's was because back in the 60's and 70's, rents were abundant and cheap! People did their drugs and alcohol indoors. No camps on sidewalks and freeways or parks, like we have now !
Thank you Sir for your sacrifice and years of service to our country. Both of my parents and my oldest half-brother all served in the armed forces, so I hold a special place in my heart for all of our veterans and all who currently serve. I'm sorry that you're having to sleep in your car. Lord knows I've been there too. With so many refugees being allowed into our country by the thousands every month, we don't even have enough affordable housing for all of our natural citizens so where are they supposed to go? If only the billions being given to other countries could instead be spent in taking care of home for our people FIRST. The system is broken, and sorry to say it will only grow worse bc plans are already underway to eliminate all gas powered autos by at least 75%. So all the folks doing van life, RV life, bus life, truck life, and car life had better ban together before they lose the only shelter they have. The saying now is, "In the future, you will own nothing and be happy about it."😞
@@JulieSevelson-nb9nj Agreed. I live on the west coast and although new apartment complexes are being built, sadly they are not under the realm of "affordable housing". Then too, as older smaller apartment complexes are being renovated, they are then priced sky high and are no longer affordable. May God help us.🙏🏼🕊️
@@JulieSevelson-nb9nj Well in all fairness, drugs were not nearly as big a problem as they are now, and there was a lot more value placed on family, so what we have now is more broken families and more drug addiction. The high rent thing is nothing but an excuse. There are plenty of places to live in the US that have affordable housing. These people simply refuse to do what is necessary to live decent, moral, productive lives.
As a New Zealander it's hard to watch, not that my country is stellar on affordable housing and homelessness, but it's a tiny problem compared to the USA 😢. My heart breaks for homeless people in America and I wonder how city employees engaging in the homeless sweeps can sleep at night and teach their children how to be decent human beings while doing what they do 😢
Actually, that's the problem instead of having them go up. It needs to Decrease Honestly. I can't help but wonder if is that happening. Because the cost and electricity and gas are going through the roof. I also can't help but wonder if it's fred tape as well Blue state seemed to have so many requirements. Just to have a stable business stay open Then there's the whole infrastructure of providing low cost housing If they took charge from a federal level and a local level , they could absolutely decrease the cost of living I lived in three other countries you could actually do it in a way where you're not taxing people to death When I lived in taiwanfor twenty years , I pretty much paid an income tax of six percent It started off as eighteenthe first six months within dropped 6
I cannot believe that this keeps happening. The United States has to start caring for their own, stop stupid wars, build affordable housing, and help people. Not cause this crap!

As a single woman who traveled around the US for years. I've looked at this from so many angles. I have no idea where to start to make a difference. Its a double edge sword. Unfortunately drug use and addiction is a big problem. And people leave tons of trash all around their motorhome. I am feeling so frustrated by how to make a difference. Thank You for making these videos
Well, the homeless community has a mix of terrified, innocent people who just can't afford market rate rents, and the predators among them, who do use drugs,or are alcoholic, and have criminal records. People tend to lump them into one group only. This is one reason why homeless people are mistreated, and harassed so MUCH. It's the troublemakers who litter, and make other problems and get the decent homeless population in heaps of trouble. I always tell homeless people, especially newly homeless, to get an affordable storage unit, sign up with a cheap gym membership, for daily showers, and keep their sites clean, even cleaning other's sites up while trying to get out of homelessness and into actual housing. Corrupt politicians have to be reigned in, they're destroying the country with their policies and procedures. Case in point, is the proposal for " interim housing in West Los Angeles, on Midvale. A collection of plastic hits, with no consideration for individual issues, and no supervision for convicts or mentally ill. The neighbors oppose this, it's poorly planned, demonizes all homeless people, and it will backfire as a result !! I was made homeless myself, over 10 years ago, scammed out of my apartment by a treacherous roommate. I couldn't afford the place by myself. So I became an urban stealth camper. I had my storage unit to store important things, and cleaned up every day.I didn't LOOK homeless. And I picked up after myself each morning, I never " hung out" at the area I slept in. Few ever saw me, because I was discreet. Which is what I advise homeless people to do. I'll always have that storage unit, even though I'm not homeless anymore. Living in the San Gabriel Valley, I've seen many cheap apartments simply bulldozed, and replaced with condos, townhomes. Or offices. And this has gone on, for 42 years. It's called Neoliberalism.
@@teaadvice4996 Most of the homeless where I am have addiction problems, but perhaps 1/4 land there because this historically cheap-to-live area has become 'gentrified' and there's nowhere cheap to live anymore. Through loss of car or their low-paying job not keeping up with local inflation puts them out of home at the first rent increase. One of my Doctors has a small office on a back street where rent doubled- yes doubled- in one year and mow she is going to have to move if she can find a place. Most help is time-limited, permanent housing almost absent, waiting lists of over a year for anything except overnight shelters where there's a 90-day limit. Many have their kids with them living in tents in small encampments because the larger better areas they used to be in have been closed off to the homeless now. People used to rent out houses for their costs plus a modest profit, but now most rentals are owned by large corporations, REITs, and investor groups who sim,ply charge the highest rents they can get away with, and the already-rich get richer as the poor become homeless. It's the American way- be sure your kids learn this bew3fore they land on the streets too.

They act not knowing there is a tomorrow ❤ homeless does not mean am a criminal or it does not mean am not human, it means in many cases i lost a roof over my head and i need help from the city thats kicking me out of an area, humanity kills it self by being selfish and not thinking
The fix to homelessness in the US is to allow those on SSI and SSDI as well as State Disability and low income pensions to live outside the US. As is those on SSDI can for 6 months a year, those on SSI only 30 days. But the income they receive would spend like more than 3 times as much just across the border in Mexico. I know plenty of places outside the US where Room and Board is just $40 a month. US average monthly income is over $6500 a month. On Social Security Average of $1700 a month. SSDI Average of $951 a month and SSI Average of $630 a month you can't even afford rent and utilities. Nor can you rent with a bad credit rating. In other countries you are free from all that nonsense. Many other countries Average Monthly Income is $450 to $5660 a month and a person can live well on that. In Nicaragua Average Monthly Income is just $150 and you can get Room and Board for just $40 a month. Freedom and Opportunity in the US is a thing of the past and won't be returning. RV's are a money pit. Once 10 years old no one will rent to you. A bad mistake. I have lived outside the US over 10 years in Panama, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and travel to many other countries. Life is very good and affordable and even as a 32 Year US Army Veteran I have better health care and respect outside the US.
It's ridiculous seeing how many government workers are there, $70 million a year just to push people around, why don't they spend that money on actually helping these people?!

That is NOT true! For every $100 increase in median rent, homelessness increases 9%. The homeless sector is housing more people than ever before, but because of the lack of affroble housing pushing g more people into homelessness, they can't keep up. Here in Los Angeles, 200 people are being housed every day, yet 350 new people are becoming homeless every day. That's the problem.

With the millions spend yearly in sweeps 🤦♀️ instead they could pay for part of people’s rent for a few months or a year and make it affordable for them to rent for a bit till they get back in their feet. 🤦♀️
All this money wasted on sweeps and tows could be used to help create affordable housing. Out of sight, out of mind.. because heaven forbid the politicians look at the end result of their bad policies and allow that reality to ruin their morning commute.. 🤬🙄 Keep doing God’s work, brother!
Mark, you are so right about all this. There really is no checks and balances for non profits who are supposed to help homeless people with housing and other resources to get back on their feet again. I have been "hidden homeless" in the past. I have no addictions and no severe mental health issues. I have no criminal record either. I have two degrees. I know how so many of these non profits just literally pass people around or just give them printouts of resources. I know so many who are literally homeless going through the same thing. The city of San Diego bought some hotel buildings for apartments but the housing commission or authority doesn't help you connect to that housing. Also, there is a serious lack of bathrooms in downtown San Diego as well. It is not easy to get a spot in those parking lots with tent cities set up on 20th and B and other former overflow parking lots. You got to have a caseworker that isn't burned out yet on the job to help you get a voucher to stay at that tent cities set up too. You can't just get off the streets and walk over there to get some temp safe housing. There are a lot of barriers for people that the Mayor is clueless about.
Having been homeless myself and in a position to help homeless people I have seen these effects first hand. Sadly most people who have not been homeless claim to have Solutions but when those Solutions are actually put down on paper they tend to want to fight back retract what they suggested. It's a novel idea to say oh I want to help homeless people but then when they realize the involvement and effort that needs to go into solving the problem they quickly give up and then bury it under other b******* news.
Those immigrants got their hometown destroyed because of us. These people don’t seem to be asking for any job applications they’re waiting for “offers” like always
The U.S. government now spends more than 1,000 billion $ a year on the military, but the government is unable to ensure that all citizens have affordable housing. What a shame for this great and rich country. What a shame.
they don't want to see the JUNK that is surrounding the RVs. Otherwise, they should find someplace where they can park these things and move them there. Someplace that provides waste management, hand cleaning and showers. Right now where is all the human waste going? Especially in the RVs that are not mobile.

You said the city (taxpayers) needs to come up with resources for people not pitching in in a very measurable way. There is no such thing as freedom from consequences.
we were there - outreach workers said they were TRYING to acquire hotel rooms, so all that was being offered was a waiting list. Also know that when accepting a hotel room, peolle are only allowed to take two bags, so they lose most of there stuff. Imagine losing your apartment. You buy an old RV so you're not sleeping on the ground. It holds most of your stuff. Now, the city wants you to just lose everything you own. Plus, cost of the hotel rooms to taxpayers is huge. 5x the cost of an apartment. Housing ends homelessness and saves taxpayer money th-cam.com/video/SizHuR225Co/w-d-xo.html
We have been living in an RV since 2008. It is an RV, yes. But it is our RV and it is home and it is all paid for no debt. We ask nothing from anyone we do not want your handouts. Just leave us alone that is all we ask. Fair 'nuff ?
I live in an RV and move around frequently throughout the town I'm based in. We try not to stay in one place more than a night and never litter or make any noise. We're sober and chill but can't work due to disabilities. Other than fearing a break in and assault, the most difficult aspect of living in an RV is the way others treat us. The abuse and hatred we receive for just simply existing differently than others is way out of line. We're human beings. It's just sad that other humans forget that.
With many millions of jobs in the country, and tragically estimates of 40% homeless people being schizophrenic or suffering other mental issues, you are correct that the solution involves providing help, but not at the destruction of businesses, neighborhoods, with disease, drugs, and crime. For instance the guy who has been out there 6 years, has done so by choice if he is able bodied. There were 10 million jobs available a few months ago, and now it is 8 million. I actually took a homeless person shopping for work clothes, gave him money for his ID so he could get a job in culinary in Las Vegas, and did he do that? No, he just continues to panhandle and from the last time I saw him, he has mental issues. Plicies have entirely failed of accommodation and allowing tents coming up on commercial or public property, and allowing people to be sleeping on public sidewalks and parks. The solution isn't just throwing money or letting people park their vehicles on the road. That is why California leads the country with 51% of the US homeless population. Your solution of BS is to penalize hard working people who are renting out their properties, where they have mortgages, and are subjected to terrible loss of income from people breaching contracts, and for having to pay many thousands of dollars for eviction and foreclosure. Wrong. California's policies have failed horrifically. The mentally ill need treatment, and it shouldn't be tolerated for people to sleep on sidewalks, in front of businesses, or to have their RV's parked over night. Its interesting that when that happens, homelessness declines significantly, but when there is accommodation, well, 51% of the homeless are in California. There need to be effective programs which are the opposite of appeasement. Which require the able bodied to seek out work, education, and gain employment and enhance their skills, and provide mental health and other care so they can do so. It isn't to allow tents, drugs, feces, and campers on the street. Sometimes people need to face life, and take responsibility for themselves and their lives. There should be far better structured opportunities, but the solution isn't of accommodation, which destroys cities....such as what is evidenced on these videos, or in San Francisco, and other areas of the country.
If their RV isn't running and it gets towed, then impound fees start to accrue immediately, right? You can't even get your clothing until you pay those umpound fees. And if you can't pay up in X amt of days (30?), your vehicle will be auctioned off & you'll be living on the street.
You pay anywhere from $18-28/night in most State Parks and $5-20/night in most State Forests. Many states have a State Park Pass. This is usually an annual pass that allows free access to all of their State Parks! If you don’t have one of these you’ll typically end up paying a small fee ($2-8) to enter the park as well as nightly camping fees. In some states, RV parks with all the amenities & RV hookups are as low as $10 a night with bathrooms & laundry rooms & close to big retail & food stores. Why stay in LA? Best of luck to everyone.
Mark, thank you for continuing your work, showing us the reality of the lives of our brothers and sisters out on the streets. The humanity and strength of these people that you've shown us is incredible - Thank You! ❤ Also, we need to defund organizations and hold them accountable if they are not providing the services they are being funded to provide! You can’t push the homeless problem on the landlord that is trying to maintain a property in the face of rising taxes, utilities, maintenance, cost of evictions, etc, etc.
Put the homeless in jail if they sleep on sidewalks and roads. They are a damn nuisance and danger. They STAND AND SET UP CAMP ON INTERSECTION ISLANDS!!!!!!!!!
At over $100,000 per year per inmate, makes complete sense when an apartment plus support services would cost less than $25k and end homeless. Let’s spend 4x the amount of money to lock them all up!

TO MY FELLOW CALIFORNIAN!!! When are we going to fight back against these " parking/ living in your vehicle " rules in California. I keep telling California activist 1 there are 2 grouos living in vehicle homeless or homefree. Homeless want affordable housing but can't afford it . HomeFREE CHOSE to live in ther vehicle and do not want housing. 2 In each California county, the local government has to set aside a designated safe overnight parking from 7pm-7am for peooke living inntheur vehicles. No California resident , security guard, cop , police etc can harass a person over parking their vehicle duribg those times. 3 California DMV has to start issuing " living in your vehicle " placard so police can identify who is who out there parking their vehicle.
And another issue is that we have a big breakdown in families. Thankfully after my divorce I moved back in with my parents and my 2 kids and had love and support. Where are these people’s extended family ? Nobody has some land they can put their rv on ? About 20 years ago I had an old childhood friend who grabbed her kids and ran away from an abusive boyfriend. I opened up my pop up camper to her and her kids. They lived in it for 6 month while she worked on getting a job. And from there she was able to go back to college. She’s now a nurse. People need opportunities ! They have no friends or family that give one little concern at all ??? This is so sad !

Stereotypes fuel hatred of homeless citizens, and believe me, it's open season on ALL homeless people !💀⚰️🇺🇲
That is true I have seen lawyers ,doctors, professors homeless through no cause of their own many people out there just feel on hard times and can't get a break alot because of this stuff going find them a place they can go and stay till they are helped to get out of the situation they are in .
yes, we definitely need to get to a point where people are no longer demonized and treated as subhuman.
This is an ancient problem. Even the Bible has documented how those who are evil and rich and evil and atheist and hypocritical religious treat poor and homeless people worse than dirt. The thing is it will backfire on those evil people.

The saying now is, "In the future, you will own nothing and be happy about it."😞
@@JulieSevelson-nb9nj Agreed. I live on the west coast and although new apartment complexes are being built, sadly they are not under the realm of "affordable housing". @@JulieSevelson-nb9nj Well in all fairness, drugs were not nearly as big a problem as they are now, and there was a lot more value placed on family, so what we have now is more broken families and more drug addiction.
Most of them aren't on drugs.
But you know companies like northfolk southern cause chemical spills that's alright hey

That is NOT true! For every $100 increase in median rent, homelessness increases 9%. The homeless sector is housing more people than ever before, but because of the lack of affroble housing pushing g more people into homelessness, they can't keep up. Within a month living out of my van in LA I was pushed out. With nowhere to park we left california all together. We now have to live in the deserts and forests. There will be no solution other than drop the inflated cost of living and thats not going to happen.
I’m in my seventh year living out of my minivan in the deserts and forests. It’s not so bad
@@barefootincactus seven years !!!! i've learned that outside the cities are best for living in a vehicle
Yeah, the people don't want to see the RV. Because those people aren't doing nothing but sitting in the R VS and making a mess more sweeps are needed.
More sweeps = more homeless people. Sure that’s what you want?
I honestly have been thinking about how many foreign nationals own property in the US while there is a housing shortage. It makes no sense
Because of what is called the "Refugee Package".
We need changes in America now because of a 2 party system full of corruption on all sides.
The changes has to become awareness of America'history on all sides.
Thank you , Mark for giving the homeless a voice.

With the millions spend yearly in sweeps 🤦♀️ instead they could pay for part of people’s rent for a few months or a year and make it affordable for them to rent for a bit till they get back in their feet. 🤦♀️
This is sad I pray for those who actually want a home..
All this money wasted on sweeps and tows could be used to help create affordable housing. Out of sight, out of mind.. because heaven forbid the politicians look at the end result of their bad policies and allow that reality to ruin their morning commute.. 🤬🙄
Keep doing God’s work, brother!
They have already spent TONS of money on affordable housing, and all it does is attract more homeless bums to pollute their cities.
You can never save money.
This road is on the outskirts in the middle of nowhere. Why they care
Those workers and policemen are rank injustice. All my curses goes out to them because they could have courage to refuse to do what they do.
they're called class traitors, or bootlickers

💯 correct
Having been homeless myself and in a position to help homeless people I have seen these effects first hand.
Sadly most people who have not been homeless claim to have Solutions but when those Solutions are actually put down on paper they tend to want to fight back retract what they suggested.
It's a novel idea to say oh I want to help homeless people but then when they realize the involvement and effort that needs to go into solving the problem they quickly give up and then bury it under other b******* news.
That should be against the law they need to put them in shelter or hotel like the immigrants take care of Americans first.

So the cops are now criminals for doing their jobs?
Those cops harassing the homeless people were following orders. Where have I heard that excuse before? (Rolling eyes)
they don't want to see the JUNK that is surrounding the RVs. Otherwise, they should find someplace where they can park these things and move them there. Someplace that provides waste management, hand cleaning and showers. Right now where is all the human waste going? Especially in the RVs that are not mobile.

Don’t know much about policies, programs, and budgets, but I’m pretty certain that $70 million could be put to much better and effective use. Shameful treatment of human beings and shameful waste of money.
Los Angeles is a very hateful place in general. I left LA 2 years ago, and was shocked to find out that this is not the norm everywhere.

Getting rid of the government would do wonders for helping the homeless problem.

You said the city (taxpayers) needs to come up with resources for people not pitching in in a very measurable way. There is no such thing as freedom from consequences.
Offered hotels, but “shakey” ones. Broken down RVs are very shakey.
we were there - outreach workers said they were TRYING to acquire hotel rooms, so all that was being offered was a waiting list.
@@InvisiblePeople it’s SO EXPENSIVE to live in California. Much more affordable in other areas. Why do they stay there? I’m just trying to understand.
Let them move in with you and trash your place
Mr inv man u do such a good job I know u get tired I get tired got to keep pushing God bless.
If you put in as much time sitting around as you want you could have gotten a job
Yup
You pay anywhere from $18-28/night in most State Parks and $5-20/night in most State Forests. Many states have a State Park Pass. This is usually an annual pass that allows free access to all of their State Parks! If you don’t have one of these you’ll typically end up paying a small fee ($2-8) to enter the park as well as nightly camping fees. In some states, RV parks with all the amenities & RV hookups are as low as $10 a night with bathrooms & laundry rooms & close to big retail & food stores. Why stay in LA? Best of luck to everyone.
😢😡😢
Leave the people alone!! 🙏
It's disgusting when agencies think a waitlist and a piece of paper listing resources fulfills their "duty" to provide services! 😢
Government owns alotvof land
Why can't they put aside and for c RVs with complete hook up
This way, they won't be in the neighborhoods
Set the land up with bathrooms and showers and hook-ups , also they can hired work crew and security trained with the homeless that will reside there
This will clean up a lot of streets
I absolutely agree.
It's also about being able to work in downtown Phoenix and not see fires starting in the zone everyday. Vaguely wondering if it's a body
The government gives so much money to countries abroad for war, but they forgot about the people at home that need permanent help . It’s insane

Can’t they go to actual CAMP SITES ???
Right!
I am a Los Angeles resident and I want to know more than $1 billion spent a year for homeless people
You should tell all of the homeless to go to Mexico then come back across telling border patrol you're an Illegal and get free medical and a phone and or a place to stay like a Hotel.
If u have an RV park, where u r supposed to. Alot of these people m r disrespectful, and leave trash all over.
Clean up after yourself. That's not LAs, responsibility.
You can’t push the homeless problem on the landlord that is trying to maintain a property in the face of rising taxes, utilities, maintenance, cost of evictions, etc, etc.
There are management agencies that don't care either
Los Angeles officials need to combat crimes instead of chasing homeless people around the city. Heartbreaking 💔😥
@@InvisiblePeople that is money already budgeted year after year after year. What youre proposing is new money, new spending. PUT THEM IN JAIL. START WITH THE ISLAND SITTERS!!!!

This is not solving the problem. I am appalled.
I wonder if we could raise money and get mechanics to fix these RV's for free. Also we need safe parking lots for people.
