The actors/actresses/writers/crew in this film did an amazing job!! As someone homeless, the struggles they face are very real and relatable. The system is broken and way off balance, it needs to be completely restructured. Hopefully this film opens the eyes of those who have never been through this nightmare. Homeless people are not always addicts or folks with mental health issues, sometimes it's regular people who just hit tough times and can't find the resources to fight their way out. Thanks for taking the time to post this video!
I was at the gas station and noticed a car full of belongings and a lady with her dog. I gave her $20 and she just started bawling and was extremely grateful. When I was in my 20’s I was homeless for 2 months and lived in my car. I know how it feels to be in that situation.
I always wonder how can the typical family with average income afford a higher rate+ more expensive home? in my area multi generational home is becoming the norm . Don’t forget to add the inflation which just this week was 9.1 on the CPI , producers index 11.3, it’s going to be a rough ride for sure

With all the abandoned old homes around this nation just sitting in the weeds, there needs to be a program where the government will pay the owner or the bank (whoever owns it) a subsidy to at least let people live there in exchange for cleaning up the property and maybe doing repairs. That’s THE ISSUE. What can we do to help…not just volunteer at the food pantry or helping to serve meals to those in need which is important but to be able to do something tangible, cut the ridiculous red tape, enabling those who want off the streets to get a home, get a job or get disability for any that can’t work. Our first priority must be, should be, our children. There should be NO hungry or homeless children in a nation as blessed as the United States of America.

Ive been homeless on and off, mostly on since i was 15 running away from foster care. 29 now. Wth can you do when corporations slave wage you to the point you still cant afford housing(also incorporated)...... Are willing to participate in your data privacy invasions and put up obstacles to a huge number of minorities, black and white and every color in between...from homelessnes to convicts trying to start over, at both the housing and employement stage american citizens are suffering the consequences of corporations having too much control of government. The government needs to take this responsibility, not a handfull of non-profits. Corporate status quo is held in priority at the cost of thousands of peoples suffering, we saw first hand realty management corporations wipe there noses at the governments attempt at preventing large scale evictions. Its not impossible for the feds to make some blm land available. This is not india, we are not overpopulated. There is so much open space that it really is a simple matter. The fact is money and greed have overtaken our government over the betterment of its peoples. Im speaking to you government of america. City beaurocrats. PUSH CORPARATE CONTROL OUT OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!! Materialism will make it hard for some of you to do what needs to be done which is to Stop contributing to the corporate maw. Do your business with mom and pop. Buy your home, dont rent. There needs to a boycott of some kind so that corporate power can be eschewed and a new level of human society and consience can exist. Capitalism is our last great enemy, hiding behind our governments democracy making it a corporatocracy, a form of oligarchy. Just so you know, that's not really a democracy. POWER TO THE PEOPLE, NOT THE ONE PERCENT CAPITALIST.
Sad this is America while we have a president now sending 40 billion to Ukraine and providing illegal immigrants with free food, housing, phones, insurance and plane rides 😡
hate the structure of our societies- bend over backward for the developers and what have you- but, do next to nothing to address AFFORDABLE HOUSING- I live in Canada- we are being turned into a feudal state as well- the landowners- (the Lords!) and us the 'serfs' being crushed by high rents and cost of living expenses- can't do anything! After WWII Canada- and I am sure the states did the same- built much, much affordable housing for the returning vets and workers returning after the war- today- here in Toronto- those same houses are being torn down and huge homes that takes up the entire lot- is put up- not the type of home an average person can afford- our politicians are only representing the developers and the landowners!!!
We see it everywhere. The projects going up cater to the rich. Same with a lot of things. We have millions of houses sitting empty, and there needs to be a federal/state program to rehab and get people in them in exchange for property maintenance and possibly community services. But dang they hate to part with money that could go into a multi-billion dollar project for whatever. They are catering to investors, not to people who can only pay taxes.
I don't know why people say that basic housing is a right We should have affordable housing. We should be able to connect people with family members that people can stay with until they get back on their feet But there's no country in the world that has this concept What we do need to do is get rid of the correct politicians and local governments. You know they're getting a cutback .
You know, as many videos as I see bashing these single moms, sometimes you gotta realize, people make mistakes in life. She is a sub-teacher, that is a harsh job, underpaid, under-appreciated. The way she is treated in this video, was like just another number. Even though this video is not real, it happens every day. I wonder how many of the actors/actresses were homeless before. Having to stay in a hotel for months before I could get my first apartment, I know it is hard, because they charge a lot of $ for a hotel for weekly stays. it is hard to eat right in a hotel. No oven, ect. Shady people in the hotel too, drug deals going down, people using drugs. Would not wish it on anyone. Do not forget about possibility of bed bugs.
Finland has ZERO homeless. Other states and cities are will approach Zero homeless by 2024. Residents pay according to their income and landlords get huge TAX BREAKS. Why is Vegas not doing this?
@Alek Stanton That's a theory you've got, but I live in Norway and your scenario is not what's happening in real life. People work and have ambitions to do well, and taxes isn't stopping you. I work as a software developer which pays decent and I'm happy to pay more tax than many. I still make enough so it's not like they take everything. I would make a lot more by moving to the US in my profession, but I would never consider living in such an unsafe place where there is an under developed social system which doesnt reach everyone. Misfortune like a random cronical illness can happen to anyone. Myself included.
Completely agree. Great video. Grateful Thankful to b in motel at least. Prayers for everyone going through these types of hardships. 🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️GOD Bless Everyone in Jesus Name AMEN 🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️
It amazes people how clueless people are in these comments. Just get a job isnt even the answer anymore to keep housing. Landlords are evicting good tenants who pay their rent on time. This is a reality for many people.
And in the mean time, while starting a new job, people are starving, trying to find some place to shower and sleep. So I really hate when people say that.

Why can't Martha get a job? She was working b4 her mother died, she quit her job to take care of her mother, her mother died. What is her excuse why she can't get a job now?
Where I live (Southern CA) housing has skyrocket, landlords know it and cashing in. Example the house next door was bought by a property investor, if he can get more money for that house he does not renew their lease, claims he's putting the house up for sale so the tenants have to move (this is how he gets rid of them) the new tenants move in paying $200 - $300 more than the last one I have witness this happening to more than three families. My neighbor is not the only one doing this I been hearing from other people it is happening to them, one friend who's son was renting an apartment got notice his rent was going up $500.00 another one their rent was going up $1,000, it's happening everywhere.
This just breaks my heart. We are taking in millions of illegal immigrants and giving them assistance and housing that our own taxpaying people can use. What is wrong with this country that they allow 653,000 homeless and 40 million in poverty but can find money for illegal people. I have no problem with immigrants but i do if they come here with no money and no plan expecting the US taxpayer to support them and give them a new life while people like vets, seniors and families go without.
Closed caption doesn't work in first scene. I have the sound off because my kid and puppy are sleeping. Since when the hell do kids eat lunch at their desks and not in a lunch room?
Here in the UK you have to wait 20 year's untill you might get a council house. Some random dudes that crossed the channel in a dingy got automatically Council houses for free. We paying tax and we add another year in the queue.

Wow... this video but as a Man am living this now. Over 3 year's..I love your work and this video is exactly my life but Alone. A Former Green Beret in NC
Beautiful and all too common story, well performed, directed n written
thanks so much for the love
@@InvisiblePeople The opening scene reminded me of when I was in school as a child. I lived in a predominantly White Town. Except my story was true. It wasn't until I got older and fellow students saw where I actually lived that I'm sure their attitudes were permanently changed. At the time I didn't see my commentary the way it was portrayed here. What's sad is kids start judging each other at around 5 or 6th grade. Great short film.❤
She is an amazing mom .
Yes
No she is not.
The judge was trying to work with her, the landlord was trying to work with her. She should have been "proactive" and thought about her child before she got into that situation.
@@melindasaddler559you live and learn. They still made it
@jackiemaldonado7777 You can't have that type of attitude when you have a child. She made her child's life unnecessarily harder. A lot of people don't make it in real life so easily.
@@melindasaddler559 you live and learn, whether you have kids or not. You're going to make mistakes and eff up cause you're human. She still got that little girl a home and put her through college. What did the dad do????
Where is that Child's Dad? It makes me hate these absent fathers more and more, seeing Single Mothers out there suffering and struggling.
Sometimes people alienate the fathers from the kids as well. Not every dad is a deadbeat.
@@LIVdaBrandI hate this excuse. There is a legal system in place to prevent this from happening.
It's very scary And saddening
@@LIVdaBrandyea those moms are spending child support checks, not struggling to be housed like the mom in this video.
@@LIVdaBrandI've seen more cases than not where the child's father is a liability. That's why a lot of single mothers choose to keep him away.
Beautiful story. So happy they got the help they need and Freddie got to be with them too. Don't think I can watch another story tho because it just breaks my heart and I wish I could help. Feel helpless to do so 😢
That’s THE ISSUE.
WOW! this is real. And it’s in all states. Sad. Just sad 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
This was a great one good job everyone acting was awsome
This is a very phenomenal film. It really touched my soul.
Fantastic little video here! It's so eye openening! Just to think, how many wonderful people go through these things now! And it breaks my heart for these young children!
There are lots of people with jobs who are houseless. Some even opt to live in their vehicles if they are lucky to have one. California made it illegal to sleep in your car for this very reason.
Very powerful!
Thanks!
WOW! Thanks so very much (((HUGS)))
I am being evicted after paying my rent and it was retaliate . Even though I have proof and did all the paperwork we still didn’t get v to see a judge and ruled in landlord favor. We lived in our home for 3 years no v problem landlord died and family sold it 3 months later (no lease) the new owner evicted us. Now we have 3 days or we’re be forced out by police with a Family. We work . Everything in this video I feel bc us . We’ve spoiled section 8 and asked help
Hey just a heads up, when trying to play this on Chrome on a desktop you get some kind of error that makes it so that the screen is very static like so you can't see anything; most likely an error related to Chrome itself. I tried playing it on Firefox and it does play normally.
Many people are not invisible anymore
Incredibly powerful. This really put me in their place.
Thank you
I don't know why people say that basic housing is a right
We should have affordable housing. We should be able to connect people with family members that people can stay with until they get back on their feet
But there's no country in the world that has this concept
What we do need to do is get rid of the correct politicians and local governments.
WOW AWE INSPIRING INDEED. THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS.

Very good mini-movie. Please do more!
AMAZING FILM !!!

Good job….
OH wHAT A SAD WORLD !
omg this is disturbing to watch - imagine this is happening to people all the time. i need to to do something to help.

I can tell it will be a very emotional film but necessary to see the perspective
Liberal drama
Thanks for sharing this..♥🏠
Congratulations on making this
The worst thing you can economically be (and for the US to promote) is a single mom. But the men get shamed and called “broke and dusty” tho.
Excellent job
A very good production and actors. Would love to see more. Thanks IP
touching story
The real horror story is real.
Where are everyone’s families??????!! Cousins. Sisters. Brothers. Aunts. Uncles. No one will take anyone in???
No, they're too busy sipping Starbucks.
Why can't Martha get a job? She was working b4 her mother died, she quit her job to take care of her mother, her mother died.
What is her excuse why she can't get a job now?
She did get a job in the movie.
Thank you!
Oh my gosh, I’m crying 😢

Thank you for your work.
And for those who are asking where the childs dad is they clearly didn't watch the film. 😊

Ive learned to never spend all of my money…always hold something back for emergencies/housing
World spending tons of money on war does not solve problems for the poor people
Good movie, I liked it a lot.
I hope things in the US change for the better soon!
Thank you
Who played Uncle Mike? He's not in the credits.
He was a really good actor
And most are not even that lucky even in the lucky country Australia.
