  • I joined ‪@markbone‬ and ‪@theartofdocumentary‬ last year. This inspired me to do short docs in a short amount of time. So with about 8 effective hours of filming, and a work week of editing I ended up with this piece.
Last winter, I met Mathilde, who's been struggling a lot. She got to the point where the help line was her only support. This is her story.
This is the cinematic short doc that I filmed on Sony FX6 and FX3 earlier this year.
    Gear I used:
    Sony FX6
    Sony FX3
    Sony GM 24-70mm f2.8
    Sony GM 50mm f2.8
    Sony GM 24mm 1.8
    Aputure LS 300d
    Aputure LS 300x
    Aputure Light Dome II

I messed up big time filming this one. Can you guess what I messed up on?
I’ll make a video on this soon!

Man, excellent work on this. I would absolutely love to see a color grade breakdown on this. Each frame looks absolutely stunning. Would that be something you'd be up for doing?

Thank you! As a filmmaker who doesn’t feel great at that part, it means a lot hearing it. Maybe I should add that as a segment to the next video about how I made this one?

my friend this is a negative comment but actualy is for helping you in every video you have a big problem with your axes of your camera . Your lines ...your subject is always off ...fix this cause it makes you amateur . Wish you the best

Thanks dude! Please let me know what you mean more specifically. Never gotten that comment before, and would obviously want to improve on that.
I feel like I’ve got the framing down pretty well, so was a little surprised by your comment. This video, was not my best work but in general on this channel I feel like it’s at a high level. But again, really appreciate feedback!

@@kriswarwick sorry about my English. I see this problem in every video of yours. That's why I did the comment. Even at the video that you talk about netflix . Is the way you have place your camera and your vertical/ horizontal lines in your Frame. You don't have a symmetry. Try to see it like lines horizontal and vertically... nothing in your Frame is straight or balanced. It's ok to do it some times ..like horror movies/ a nightmare. Look your subjects with straight lines in your video to understand it better .. keep the lines of windows...doors straight like every other sobject in your Frame . Your horizon...keep it balanced. Again sorry about the "negative comment" :( Filmmaking has slow learning curve... so it's ok ... it's art ... every time every moment is a lesson)

Thank you! Now I understand what you mean!
      It’s such a good advice!
I have to say that in these shots it was intentional. But I think it’s good to be reminded of it anyhow!
