Thanos on the other hand only really gained popularity with the MCU. Darkseid has a far more menacing and powerful presence. Thanos is a powerful villain but he is not in the same league as Darkseid in fact I wouldn't put him in the same league as Apocalypse.

I keep seeing you DC fanboys saying thanos has no powers without the gauntlet or he is weak without it but thats the fucking mcu version.Thanos has just as much the same powers as darkseid without the gauntlet the only thing the gauntlet does is make him virtually omnipotent but it does not give him powers in the comics. Darkseid makes Thanos look like a wimp without that gauntlet. So Darkseid for me, plus Darksied has turned 100K worlds to dust and Released a Bloody war In Apokolips War(Which I’m not a fan of that movie).

He was a character as complex as stark and thor and was capable of feeling sorry for the avengers and their loss. Darkseid is your normal everyday villain who has no motive or complex character other than his ego and wants to enslave and kill everyone. That is simplistic and making him op as he is in the comics wont resolve the fact that his character will be underdeveloped and lacking the depth thanos has. Is Darkseid more powerful than Thanos? I'm not a hardcore comic book fan but I am a fan of good writing and Darksied ranks somewhere between Doofensmurtz(Phineas and Ferb) and MojoJojo(Powerpuff Girls) he is not even Dr Claw in terms of planning. All the power I keep hearing he has is irrelevant when he dosnt seem to have a solid motivation, three dimension character development beyond being "Big Bad" and some modicum of success and yet all that power is not strong enough to pierce the almighty "plot armor" of DC comics.
Darkseid's unwavering pursuit of power and control, coupled with his ruthless methods, establishes him as an iconic antagonist within the DC Animated Universe. That's not really how it happened. The look of the character was inspired by Darkside, but the idea for the character was always more based on Thanatos. The Greek God of Death. Frankly that's a little more interesting then the Satanic roll that Darkside has always inhabited.

It was something else entirely. It only evolved into the idea of evil we know now when the Omega effect evolved along with it. The very concept of what evil is changed the day Uxas became Darkseid.

It's a little bit more complicated than that I've read both comics and I was more invested in Thanos' story. Darksied kinda feels like a tyrant 'just because' and Thanos did that stuff out of his twisted curiosity, it was later revealed that he had an interest in murder and research even without the death lady.

So Darkseid for me, plus Darksied has turned 100K worlds to dust and Released a Bloody war In Apokolips War(Which I’m not a fan of that movie).

Thanos is described as a strangely sensitive tyrant plagued by visions of a dark future. Thanos had a complex character, emotions, sympathy and empathy, undestanding, a warped understanding of reality and the universe and a complex motive and determination. He was a character as complex as stark and thor and was capable of feeling sorry for the avengers and their loss. Darkseid is your normal everyday villain who has no motive or complex character other than his ego and wants to enslave and kill everyone. That is simplistic and making him op as he is in the comics wont resolve the fact that his character will be underdeveloped and lacking the depth thanos has. Is Darkseid more powerful than Thanos? Probably. Is he gonna be a better written villain with an awesome character build? Absolutely not, i believe. And i like dc and marvel equally so i am not biased towards any of them. Thanos' character was written perfectly and was not your everyday villain who just wants to kill everyone but had actual motives behind his actions that had depth and he actually believed he was the nessecary evil who was destined to do good and save the universe. He even was compassionate enough to save gamora and had 2 daughters. He didnt raise them well sure but he knew and had love in him. Darkseid lacks that depth. He is just a dump strong guy who wants to kill everyone basically and only thing special about him is his powers. Powers dont make good villains.

We’re not. But we know what our dear Mad Titan can do as displayed by his epic introduction into cinema in Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame as well as famous comic storylines like Infinity.
Thanos quickly met the pushback from the Avengers at Earth, and it was likely opposition that he had never faced before. The Mad Titan was probably baffled that humans, some of the weakest beings in the universe, were the ones with the strongest resolve. That strongly annoyed Thanos, and although none of his slaughtering was ever personal, his annoyance with the Avengers and their allies meant that he would at least enjoy the task.

All the power I keep hearing he has is irrelevant when he dosnt seem to have a solid motivation, three dimension character development beyond being "Big Bad" and some modicum of success and yet all that power is not strong enough to pierce the almighty "plot armor" of DC comics.

That's not really how it happened. The look of the character was inspired by Darkside, but the idea for the character was always more based on Thanatos. The Greek God of Death. Frankly that's a little more interesting then the Satanic roll that Darkside has always inhabited.

The movie was dark and made it seem like all the heroes could die at any moment. With Thanos victorious and several Avengers snapped away, Avengers: Infinity War has the most impactful ending in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

You dont need op powers to make a good villain man. The fact Darkseid would win in a fight doesnt mean he will be a better villain cause some of the best villains in movie history were simple men less powerful than those they fought. Thanos is the better villain period. His movie adaptation is masterful. I am not saying he is stronger than darkseid but a good villain doesnt need to be op. Thanos had a complex character, emotions, sympathy and empathy, undestanding, a warped understanding of reality and the universe and a complex motive and determination. He was a character as complex as stark and thor and was capable of feeling sorry for the avengers and their loss. Darkseid is your normal everyday villain who has no motive or complex character other than his ego and wants to enslave and kill everyone. That is simplistic and making him op as he is in the comics wont resolve the fact that his character will be underdeveloped and lacking the depth thanos has. Is Darkseid more powerful than Thanos? Probably. Is he gonna be a better written villain with an awesome character build? Absolutely not, i believe. And i like dc and marvel equally so i am not biased towards any of them. Thanos' character was written perfectly and was not your everyday villain who just wants to kill everyone but had actual motives behind his actions that had depth and he actually believed he was the nessecary evil who was destined to do good and save the universe. He even was compassionate enough to save gamora and had 2 daughters. He didnt raise them well sure but he knew and had love in him. Darkseid lacks that depth. He is just a dump strong guy who wants to kill everyone basically and only thing special about him is his powers. Powers dont make good villains. People need to understand that instead of saying darkseid is a better villain just cause he would win the fistfight.

He became Darkseid when he murdered the original New God of evil and took the Omega Effect from him. The Omega turned him into the second New God of evil but it was his own power that changed Omega just as much as it changed him. What we perceive evil as being today, is not what evil always was. It was something else entirely. It only evolved into the idea of evil we know now when the Omega effect evolved along with it. The very concept of what evil is changed the day Uxas became Darkseid.

I've read both comics and I was more invested in Thanos' story.
Darksied kinda feels like a tyrant 'just because' and Thanos did that stuff out of his twisted curiosity, it was later revealed that he had an interest in murder and research even without the death lady.
