We love a good superhero battle, but let’s consider what would happen if two of our favorite villains went head to head. From the pages of DC Comics we have the villain Darkseid. He may have been missing from the “Justice League” movie, but he still has a special place in our hearts and no shortage of incredible abilities we want to see him putting to good use. Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most people are familiar with the Mad Titan, but even without the Infinity Stones at his disposal he’s a force to be reckoned with. These two are essentially immortal but that doesn’t mean one of them wouldn’t trounce the other and we think we know exactly who would come out on top in a fight. We’ll talk about how strong these two really are and why the Omega Effect is something that shouldn’t be underestimated. Let’s just say that while it’s impressive than Thanos held off the Avengers, Darkseid has fought Superman and lived to talk about it!

There's absolutely no way to prove that darkseid is that much stronger than Thanos
DC just thinks less of heavenly bodies/dimensions/universes, whenever they want to make a character strong, they say he can destroy universes.
In contrast, marvel respects planets and universes much more.
This make any comparison skewed because destroying planets/universes is taken as a standard to compare strength.

Darkseid would pretty much win here. When Loki said Thanos would never be a God, he got angry and killed him instead but Darkseid’s already a God and he can even hurt Supes with his Omega Beam. Also Darkseid doesn’t need shiny stones to win cuz he is a strong villain.

I liked how in the DC Marvel crossover, Darkseid obtained the Infinity Gauntlet much to the heroes' dismay and panic.
And upon learning that the infinity gauntlet will not work in that universe, he calls it useless and throws it away.
The gauntlet was too scared to show its powers to Darkseid

Darkseid is the literal concept of evil. He lives in a dimension above the multiverse, the Darkside the heroes fight in all universes in DC are just manifestations, reflections of the original infinite Darkseid who lives above all multiverses. Darkseid isn't something you can defeat, just delay. Darkseid is, because everything else, is not.
He doesn’t live above all multiverses, just the multiverse, he’s not omniversal like the Primal Monitor or The Presence

Darkseid in the comics is miles ahead of Thanos even if he had the infinity gauntlet. He was fighting and fell on the multiverse, and it would have completely destroyed the multiverse if not for Superman. The darkseid in the comics is very inconsistent aswell. Before crisis on infinite earths, darkseid could go toe to toe with a superman who was punching through universes. After crisis on infinite earths, superman could only punch through mountains and darkseid then lost to this version of superman. Darkseid lives outside our dimensions and space and time don't affect him. He could kill thanos, without even thinking about killing thanos. He literally couldn't enter the multiverse himself because his presence there would cause it to die.
You people don't know how the comic infiitely gauntlet is its not as weak as the movie portrayed it, when Thanos had it in the comics he become an Omnipresence in the universe literally unbeatable, the movie weakened and dumbed it down so your heroes could still have a fighting chance, comic books the literally did not, and he even weakened himself with the gems to scrap with them for fun, understand this all those fights him wearing the gauntlet fighting them he turned the gem powers off and beat the snot out of the entire marvel universe to try and appease death and handicap himself. infinity gems and gauntlet at full power nothing stand's in his way simple

Keep in mind this is an avatar of darkseid. He has an avatar for each universe. His true form can wipe universes out of existence just by being there.
@Bob Joe while I like the essay you wrote for me, I’m only going to read the first half because second doesn’t concern me. That one issue is the only evidence that darkseid doesn’t like avatars. And yes, he can wipe out universes from being there. Just read final crisis series. And your interpretation of final crisis is wrong. It doesn’t take a month, he doesn’t want to break the multiverse. He didn’t fall on purpose. Even if he does have avatars, that still doesn’t explain how he is super weak when coming to earth and then outside the multiverse he can destroy gods. Also, look at the dc multiverse. Apocalypse is literally bigger than solar systems. So explain that. And also, there are MANY other channels that have the said that darkseid has avatars. I’ll just suggest the imaginary axis to you. They go super in-depth

Plus, I never said he actually destroyed universes by being there. I said he has the power to do that, but has never done it because of his ability to just watch over. And it takes a month to take down the whole universe, but the first impact, or initial impact was not at full force, already advancing the progress of destroying the universe.

The strongest form of Darkseid shown in canon should be considered as true darkseid, irrespective of what the higher dimensional form of Darkseid can do.
A character whose strength is not known completely even 50+ years after debut is simply to vague to use in comparison.

Thanos is an alien born on titan, who gained power through Training, research, etc.
Darkseid is a new god, born of something of a shockwave created by infighting among the primordial creator gods. He exists in a higher dimension, as something not quite living. (If you need to compare, he's somewhat like shuma gorath, or cyttorak)

Thanos is an off brand ripoff of Darkseid. Even with the infinity gauntlet The omega force and a couple omega beams would ignite Thanos like a wick. Factor in anti-life and it's a squash match at best
Darkseid without gear is still super powerful and still has his omega beams but thanos without his gear is just a big purple geologist

The movies are NOT comic accurate and didn’t portray Thanos as he should be. He’s also proven to be extremely resilient against reality warpers/warping, something few people are resistant against.... so Thanos isn’t just a “geologist” he’s a cosmic being....

Theres a simple way for darkseid to win,come outside of the fourth world dimension,because his presence alone shatters reality,so the gauntlet would most likely be useless and thanos will not survive the "Real Darkseid".

There was a DC/Marvel crossover where these two met and fought each other, and Darkseid schooled Thanos. It wasn't even close.
The fight was never shown anyways. Also, the crossover fight outcomes were decided on fan polls, not by writer decisions.
Creator makes DC heroes and villians so strong like hell that people start comparing it to other heroes from different movies and comics.

In the movies it shows that thanos is weak without the gauntlet but in comics he is still wayyy op. He can shoot lasers out of his eyes and can absorb high amounts of energy, there’s a comic around where thanos literary became the one above all.

Mujlneir might have travelled very fast, but not as fast as Darkside. It took the hammer a couple minutes to get to thor through the nine realms, and that is not even half the universe.
