I don't do it as often with books, but with movies I do tend to start talking like the characters. English is not my first language and I learnt how to speak it with an american accent. But everytime I watch a britsh movie, I turn britsh. And it happens in my first language to. I pick up the accent of whatever region of the country I'm listening to.

Actually hearing you talk about If We Were Villains made me think that you would enjoy a videogame called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. You should give it a try (as well as the rest of the Ace Attorney games). Its also one of my all time favourite videogames series!

10:00 omg yes! Me too! I 100% incorporate them and start talking and thinking like them in my real life. And as an aspiring author that’s something that makes me so anxious because sometimes when I’m writing I’m like, wait I’ve seen this before and then I’m like oh that one character from the book I’m reading 🥲
You are not the only one who speaks that way. I read a lot of historical books that take place in England, and I will put on that accent and use phrases they would use lol... That cover is so pretty and the book sounds is good. I will be looking for it.

I read it in yr6 and my little sisters painted all over most of my harry potter series except the first and last book so i finally decided to order the rest of the series w some other books so i can add them to my shelf and i wanted to read the series again for a while now and i think im gonna start it soon

You are not alone. It started when I was 10 years old. I read Harriet The Spy and The Long Secret and started to eat tomato sandwiches and travel around on my bike, taking notes and pretending I was a detective. I hated tomatoes at that time but…
Haha I can remember similiar things as a kid where I started craving sandwiches that the main characters had while reading my children's detective novels, then I went and asked my mum for them
