Good job. You need light up there in that cold dark place. 3 of the last 4 days here have been raining or cloudy. Yesterday the 🌞 sunshine was out, so that did help. It rained today, and was cold and gloomy. It may snow Thursday, they say. I'm thinking about ordering a wind generator diy kit... more or less everything but the pole. It's going to cost more than I thought at first. It's a good unit, but in a storm it can put out too much voltage so they want you to buy an extra clipper unit and the controller, which I can barely afford. So I wouldn't be able to get any more batteries for a long while. So, I am going to get the wind generator, then next month get the controller. That will let me get more batteries if I need them. I have a bold plan to use the battery bank as the dump load for the windmill output. It seems that a big load would slow it down enough, instead of wasting the energy in big resistors. I'm going to try it with 22 batteries, I guess. At 7:30 p. m. showing 24.5 v. ( terrible, lol ) I'm afraid not to go ahead and get it, because prices are going up too much, so if I put it off it's just going to cost more. Now on the down side there was an F 0 twister came through about a mile North of here two weeks ago. Just broke a few telephone poles by the highway. So there is risk in the wind generator but it's pretty rare. I have to figure out how to get the charge controller... they've went up from $606 to around $650. The wind generator is $676. I'll have fifteen hundred in it after I get it wired up. But I wanted a wind generator for part of the system, so I'm going to go ahead and get it now. This is a big new year. This is like wading out into the lake and stepping in a deeper spot. It kind of takes your breath for a second. I hope to get it going in March. I'm kinda excited about it but wow it's a lot of money. After I pay for all that I will have about $5600 in my off grid energy system. I will be happy as long as it just works. By the time I add four more batteries I'll be at six grand. That's what I figured it would take. I don't mind spending if it's for something that important. I've wanted to have a solar/ wind system for a long time. It has kept me almost broke the last two years though. If it was anything else I would be sick of spending money on it. However, it is extremely rewarding to be getting there with it. They say our money will be worthless soon, so I have to do it. I would rather have my own power, set-up anyway. Some places the wind generator doesn't work out, but here in Oklahoma, the wind comes right behind the rain, and it rains a lot, so it works out well enough to be worth it. If you put one and a half wraps of duct tape on the handle of the light, get it centered, then mark the center with a sharpie, you can instantly tell if it's off center. Plus the tape won't let it shift.

Suggestion; disassemble the lights before installing, to see how to replace the batteries. so U will be on the high-side of the learning curve when comes time to replace...and to get the numbers off the batteries for replacement

Love the lights Jenn...the one light over the gas tank on the brass hook you installed, if your worried about the light coming unhooked in the wind, take your pliers and squeeze the hook until its almost closed...leave enough to take them down if you need to but close most of the gap

Good job! May I suggest using hex head screws to replace those cheap Philips head screws. You may have a hex head driver for your cordless drill. That way you will not strip the heads. Engineers overdesign everything. Lol! No snow for us..., yet. That's just the way I like it. Take care of yourself. You seem to be over your cold and glad for you. CYA! Rob in N.C.

I have a bunch of solar lights but my favorite is Bell+Howell, I have had my spotlight for about 5 years now and it's still going strong. I also like the red, white and blue string lights. I have a few trees decked out with them in my front yard. Still working decently after 2 years even though I accidentally tore a string apart with my weedwhacker. The only solar lights I don't really care for are the ones you spike into the ground. They never seem to last long for me and I always have to remove them when I'm mowing.
