- This video is about opening the box and initial setup of Autel MX808 all system OBD2 scanner. I found this scanner on jbtools.com for 384.99 and it was a fast ship. Had it in 4 days. Beat the Amazon price hands down. eBay had starting bids at 380.00 but I didn't want to wait for an auction. Before buying I checked out the Icarsoft mb ii and the Icarsoft cr pro both of which are great options. After watching tons of videos on TH-cam I just felt the Maxicheck mx 808 gave me more bang for my buck and fit my personal needs a little better.
We go over the package contents, start up, registration and initial updating of the scanner. This OBD2 scanner is considered a bi-directional scanner as it can, on certain models, operated functions such as brake bleeding, dpf regeneration, battery registration, SRS, airbag resets and maintenance indicator resets. And of course it can erase codes. Supposedly on all systems of all cars.....I think it will be most systems on most cars.
Next video I will attempt to reset the srs light on my mercedes c32. I can barely wait to try out the Autel MX808 obd2 bi-directional scan tool on my projects.
I just placed my order for this same tool from the same place yesterday. cant wait for it to show up!

mine didn't show an Update All button until the initial 2 largest downloads i had which were at the very top in order were downloaded. After that i just clicked update all and it just downloaded everything. some take a long time others pretty fast.
other then that i mean hopefully it works on my car. bought one of those FIXD scanners for $20 just to see a code. didn't even want to sync to the scanner/my phone despite it works even with 3 bars of wifi nothing.
good setup vid though. never used one of these things so didn't really know what to expect. just trying to learn how to do work on my own car especially since shops here already screwed me over breaking parts i installed brand new or charging insane amounts for something that i can do and have done after the insane quotes

I have a Bmw wonder if it detect a failing water pump most cheap scanners like 100$ don’t even give you a code for the water pump

@@tylerangel4073 sure will. Last bmw was a 82 320i..got it used. Drove it thru a flood. Change wheel bearings, starter and throw out bearing. ( don’t drive thru a flood..lol). Handed it down to my son. Had over 300k when he got rid of it.

Can you command the PCM with this scanner
So far as i have used it ( which hasn’t been much) no. It has different capabilities with different brands. It should do abs tho depending on brand.
@@JohnFrytag it doesn't I tried and now my TPMS light is on can't get it off.. so it does reset however that's it

It does, unfortunately I haven't worked on much with the scanner so I can't tell you much about it. Will be coming up when we do the totaled C55 body swap vid. Sure to be plenty of codes to track down. Thanks for watching!
Yes and no directional meaning can view the activity of two different sensor outputs at the same time.

Hi Gdenterprise: Sorry I have no idea. never looked into audio on it. It is a android style notepad so there is probably a way.
